It's fine if the Devs want to patch the game. All they need to do is make a "Speedrun Mode" option on the main menu which lists all versions of the game. That way casual players can enjoy a non-buggy mess, whereas speedrunners have their pick of the litter from every version of the game to find which one works best for them.
I get what you’re going for, but that isn’t a good idea because it would mean having all the old code able to be switched on & off in the game files, which will very quickly bloat the file size and likely hurt the framerate.
Most of the speedrun strats shown on the video aren't things a casual player will be able to pull off accidentally or even know about, the game state will still be the same regardless of removing these strats or not. What they really have to patch are NPCS locking, A/T posing, the player being able to jump a mile high, the neighbours being able to pick you from a lot of distance sometimes and other times not being able to pick you when you are at their side etc.
@@nerfirelia8235 That’s fine because you download the specific version you want to play. That’s different than having an in-game option and doesn’t lead to any of the aforementioned problems.

Edit: For those going on about 'beta testers' and such failing and such. I've beta-tested a few games in my time. It comes down to that a group of us can't possibly think of trying everything that all the countless other players may have come up with. Speedrunners have fun breaking a game or just playing it really well (depends on the runner) and I'd happily leave things in place that they could potentially abuse, again, so long as it doesn't hurt casual play. Having stuff always present is also nice for boundary breakers. There are a lot of other bugs that probably should have been found but modern dev times, budget constraints, ect can make it difficult to find and fix everything (and it seems like there were other things going on in the back that made development less than smooth). The underlying game engine can also introduce weird bugs. I presume they used Unity which, at least used to (not sure if it's still the case) be cheaper to use than Unreal (I think both Unity and Unreal allow you to publish a game without paying fees until you get a certain number of buyers then you pay some percentage, Unity takes less). If you are referring to my comment as a conspiracy theory, I want to clarify, that what makes many games fun for a lot of players is finding glitches and finding ways to utilize glitches. For that reason, it would be beneficial to intentionally put various glitches and exploits in the game. I know, that if I made a large game, I would attempt to sprinkle very specific, intentionally exploitable mechanics in it. Slime Rancher has fun exploits like certain spots being skippable with good maneuvering with the jet pack, and some parts of the terrain almost seem deliberately placed (like the rocks in the open water, that the honey largo in the corner of the biome it is in is facing(pretty sure, this is not used in speedruns)). However, I no longer think that it was intentional, because I later watched someone play the game for themself and saw how often they clipped through the floor or the game crashed, which obviously wouldn't be intentional. edit: Please do not interpret my opinion on stuff I say, that does not directly state my opinion. 8min+ = ads 😆
This mess is gonna get patched so hard
Is this the final game? If so, why am I not surprised it came out in this state
Hope the Devs make the game harder cause these speedrunners are having a cake walk.
Definitely wasn't a cake walk lol
HOW IS UR FAVORITE FNF SONG ALSO SOUTH BRO LESSGOO MAN IM VIBIN
It... already has dlc...
A TAS could beat the game 69 times and still get a refund on steam.
I would LOVE to see a TAS run of this lmao
Oooh, is that why the game is 2 hours long? So it's short enough to where people will feel scammed by paying $40 for the game, but just long enough to where they can't get their money back. Damn, the devs sure are good at everything but making games.
Not surprised the devs are going the patch some exploits. In my opinion, a game can be too broken. I do hope they wait until the record is optimised to hell, because I want to see if this game cam be beaten in 100 seconds (I hope so)
They should at least make the jank version still accessible
@@bepisthescienceman4202 Yeah, hoping on something similar to Minecraft
Bro was so happy he swore 💀
I was waiting for this "Getting hello neighbor 2 done in 2 minutes"
I won’t be surprised if the time goes below 1 min before December ends
Can't wait for 0:50 then
You should make a lost bits on freedom planet 1 and 2
Fnaf sb: Super broken on launch
Hello Neighbor 2: Broken beyond belief on launch
Bendy and the Dark Revival: Solid as a rock
Yeah I think I know which game is the better one lmao
😂
First time you play the game, it takes 10 minutes to figure out each _step_ of the puzzles. 3rd time playing, you finish it in under 20 minutes, and that's without research. This game has very little replay value if you aren't a speedrunner.
UNDER 2 MINUTES?! HOW
If I'm in the attic of a museum every time I'm stuck in a wall, what should I do? When I click load last save, I lose fire extinguishers. Anyone help?
The neighbor in the museum has superhuman running
Trying the lady keys glitch I just clipped the floor and got out of the map
He is playing cuphead music
I'm all for supporting speedrunners but not at the expense of a game being incredibly broken. A vast majority of players aren't speedrunners, so they aren't actively using any exploits/glitches to progress.
Not sure what you're implying. Majority of players wouldn't ever see these glitches.
This game is just one big rushed cash grab
this is starting to become poppy playtime chapter 1 speedruns
3 and a half hour to wake up
... Yeah i got time
half these bugs have sadly been fixed
