6:43 the neighbor "statue" on the floor is used to create shadows in a cutscene that activates when you enter the basement, that also explains why the basement is so bright in this cutscene. Alpha 2 is my favorite alpha of hello neighbor lol

I love alpha 1 and 2. They are simple, yet complex, and learning to go fast or simply adapt to the security makes for a fun experience, and alpha 1 encourages you to drop stuff off at your house to avoid having it taken from you when your caught by the neighbor. Great potential if only it wasn't ruined in the full release.

@@superberries112 Yeah but that's basically shitty game design. When you write code for dynamic difficulty, you make it so that the more the player struggle, the easier it gets. That way the player don't get stuck 100 hours on something this just too hard for him. By doing the contrary, nobody get satisfied. Good player will only see the easy neighbor, while bad player will mostly see hard neighbor, unless they think about resetting the game. Some games do difficulty like this, but they usually offer a mode to directly start with the maximum difficulty for the tryharder

I just say it has a bit more logic because it doesn't have a trolley spinning around all over the house and has only 2 floors instead of having 5 but only 2 available. the reason hello neighbor was so popular to watch and play was because of just how many iterations of the game there were. playing, speedrunning, and comparing them is what made the game popular (and youtubers ofc)

@@plok4634 GT iirc did a video about it before they started begging, before the game was released. His theory was basically that the neighbor made a Deal with the Devil. I honestly prefer his theory over the actual game story, if only because im a sucker for Faustian Bargain stories.
Actually, the reason the player respawned in the same location they were in in Pre-Alpha was because if you get caught while leaning, then stop leaning after respawning, you'll teleport back to where you were before.
I used to have the Alpha 3 world record. If I had known that the garbage bag glitch was discovered, I could've at least made it into a TetraBit episode!
One glitch i found while playing hell neighbor on switch is i was on a plank then the neighbor used his vacuum on my but instead of pulling me off it launches me into the air allowing me to escape the first part
You could've shaved off a few seconds in Alpha 2 if you were holding throw on an item and then once you had an angle on the squidward door throw the item and it will activate the sequence
Hello neighbor is my comfort game. Jank-tastic? Yeah. But it’s always there and has the same solutions anytime I need it. The glitches also add a LOT of replay ability for me
the pre-alpha took me forever cause of the key part i dint think i would have to wait for it to unlock cause at the top left or right theres a little green bar where u have to hold LMB button to unlock dint think that! thats why its confusing for me
