This is when Akuma's diet is just fruit. Good thing he realized that you need meat to build muscle and he dropped the fruit then decided to sell it instead.

In the events of Street Fighter EX, Akuma scars Kairi's eye, and later faces Garuda. But the reason he never appears for the rest of the trilogy is that Garuda defeated him.
Garuda gets stronger the more dark hadou is present, so every time akuma tried to use more of his power, Garuda would grow even stronger.
In the end, Akuma, believe it or not, had to retreat, with brutal wounds from the battle. Garuda would then begin searching for Kairi.

I mean, you gotta admit that adding a live-action Akuma in the game based on the Street Fighter movie even though he wasn't in the movie so you could argue it's like its own spin on him being a "secret character" it's pretty inspired.

The funny thing about SF The Movie Akuma, is that he invented the tatsumaki with flames before Ken will later do that in mainline games.
Also Akuma's fighting stance is pretty cool
I like most of the original Special and Super Moves made by Incredible Technology.
Chun-Li shooting a phoenix of ki as a projectile will later return in Power Ranger Battle of the Grid.
I really like Ken's throw Super, it is awesome and I hope it returns in future games.
The character Blade was the prototype of Rolento and Ibuki in terms of gameplay.
And looks like Capcom made canon the fact that Blade is actually Gunloc from Slam Masters

IIRC, other official sources by ARIKA state that Akuma tried to face Garuda. But since Garuda is an amalgame of souls lost to the Dark Hadou, he gets stronger the more Akuma taps into the dark hadou. So, Akuma realizes he can't beat Garuda in any way, so he retreats into the shadows.

SFTMTG, with its biblically accurate Akuma, is one of the few games I've seen with a cheat code to break the Geneva Convention. Level 3 for s into throw is some Dan energy and I love it
I never played EX but now I can see why SvC Shin Gouki is an overwhelming glass combo monster now. I'm pretty sure I've done one of those Expert combos by accident

  • @user-dz7tg1vt9t
    @user-dz7tg1vt9t 16 дней назад

You can actually land the Shungokusatsu/Raging Demon quite easily in this game by doing a projectile zone trap, pretty much what you do for a guaranteed Dragon Punch. All you need to do is space your character a bit farther from the DP distance and fire away until the CPU jumps forward. Time the SGS/RD command as the CPU descends so that the Level 3 starts up when the CPU is halfway between the jump apex and the ground and you'll catch them as they land, guaranteed. The only characters that have very specific timings, heights, and distances for this to work are Hokuto, Chun-Li, and Guile. The rest are all easy-peasy.
This method works with all characters that are capable of doing the projectile-DP trap and has SGS/RD-type moves (EX/+ Kairi, EX/+ Gouki/Akuma, EX2 Kairi, EX+/EX3 Evil Ryu).

Credits to Akuma in Street Fighter The Movie The Game (Arcade), he invented the tatsu with flames 🔥
Something that Ken will do in later games.
Speaking of the arcade version, I like many of the original special and Supers Moves (the red ones).
Ken's throw Super is amazing, it should return!
Chun's phoenix projectile Super will later return in Power Ranger Battle for the Grid.
The OCs of Street Fighter The Movie The Game [Arcade], (Blade, Arkane, Khyber, F7) will become canon in the mainline series.
I like how Capcom made official new artworks for them.
    Blade looks amazing!
Speaking of Blade, I like how Capcom made canon the fact that he is actually Gunloc from Saturday Night SlamMasters
Edit: Akuma's theme in SF The Movie The Game (Sega Saturn port) is VERY underrated

Speaking on SF EX… I FUCKING LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE those games. And casually, in the groups I hung around, they also LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED this games.
So, let’s set the stage for when it was released.
Arcades… uh, never saw one. Not ONCE. (Okay I did but it was in like 2017 or something so that doesn’t count).
Granted this is a small sample size of family members in Detroit, their friends, people I knew from the local arcades in Ohio, and the perennial Cedar Point arcade friends we ran into and planned trips to cedar point with (one year during the SF2 Championship Edition days our parents met each other looking for us playing the SF2 CE games waiting in line and realized all their kids were playing the same game together AND after this happening a few more times, realized they also had season passes and their kids could be low effort supervised by significantly less adults while playing fighting games in the arcade while the adults did adult things like grab drinks, flirt, or looks at the “time” on their wrist and yell “OH MY GOOD LOOK AT THE TIME!!” And run off somewhere.
BONUS!!! Some of the adults liked fighting games and played them with the kids.
Sooooo… I don’t recall seeing anything in the Cedar Point Arcades for EX. But I do remember my parents and aunts and uncles planning play dates with the kids from the cedar point arcades (probably so they could fuck off and do something else while everyone’s kids were watched by a a responsible adult. Who picked fucking Garuda… fuck you Jerry… ).
And everyone I know who’s played EX plus alpha fucking LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED it. But only really played it on PSX.
The top games we played back then were….
    SF EX+ alpha
    MK trilogy
    MK64 (Mario Kart)
    Golden eye
    SFA3
And ping pong. We had a table, it was as hyper aggressive and competitive as all of the above which is tk say A FUCKING LOT.
    Occasionally basketball or football.
Mission mode directly lead me on the path to doing tournaments.
    1. I see people with much better execution making very difficult missions look easy.
    2. I play matches and win matches against these people
    3. I learn VERY early on the purpose of tech, combos, strategy, consistency, and the difference between tech to show off and tech that’s applicable with full resistance.
This status with me my entire life honestly.
So…. UMvC3 mission mode (or whatever it’s called) and other fighting game mission modes seem to generally have 2 main things going for them.
    1. The skeleton of how a combo with this character should work
    2. A flex of your execution ability to a certain degree (low or high depending on games mission mode).
Ex+alpha is one of the best for what it provides.
    1. Skeleton of what combos with that character are. One can implement off this to find better combos
    2. Shit that’s a straight flex you can even do it in the first place (for the time at least).
Like one character has a trial to stay in the air for a set amount of time given infinite meter.
Is this practical to do in a match?
No, cause you only have 3 bars of meter in a match at most and can’t gain more doing this, so you’d never be able to actually do it in a match.
Why is this one of the best trials of all time? Fundamentals for the game itself. Also training. The character (who I can’t entirely remember, but kinda Ryu clone) has a trial where you do (air super fireball, air super dive kick, lather, rinse, repeat.) which would be (236236P, 246246K, lather, rinse, repeat). With infinite super meter you can stall completely protected forever. Not viable in a match. Buuuuuuuuuut anything worth practicing is worth practicing to the point you can do it 10 times without fail.
So…. Hadoukens. In competitive Stre… fighting games doing 236+Attack is now the bare minimum you need to be able to play competently in most games. Also being able to alternate between attacks like punch and kick, or slash and dust or whatever is pretty useful. If you can alternate between (236 x 2) + p and (236 x 2) + k long enough to keep this character in the air for 10 seconds you will have the ability to do qcf (236) with little effort and have no problem with those commands.

Thanks for bringing back the memories, man. This was actually the SF game that *taught me how to combo*, Expert mode made me so f*cking aware, I literally beat Expert Mode and then revisited older version of Streetfighter with new knowledge, and suddenly became so much better at everything.
And yeah, that AI was definitely programmed to escape Demon no matter what, it was a little hard to catch anyone with it in this game- but correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't it about 75-80% damage? Demon was insane in this game if you landed it.

Fuuuck, I do remember seeing that game. Okay, so fun story about how little “Three” was played, lol.
One day I walk into the arcade and the fighting games in that Arcaro were
    Marvel vs Capcom 1
    Tekken 3
    Super Street Fighter 2
    Virtua Fighter 2
    Street Fighter the Movie
    Street Fighter Alpha 2
Marvel Super heroes vs Street Fighter
    and “three”.
And here’s what happened with that line up.
MvC1 (had already been there but it was MvC1 so we played the shit out of it)
    SFA2 it’s alpha 2 dude, it’s great.
    T2 again, great
MSHvSF started to die down on account of MvC1 was there…
VF2 tekken kinda made this die down a lot
Then the movie game and “three”. People genuinely thought “there” was it’s own game and it had Ryu and Ken as guest characters. It wasn’t that fun… and alpha 2 and Super SF2 existed which were more fun to play than whatever this “three” bullshit was…
There was also MK4 and MK3 somewhere in there and people kinda sorta played those but not that often. Anyway, the movie game was just so trash and hilarious we’d play it occasionally as a joke.
But no one played “three”. There was no reason to. With the movie game it was hilarious how bad it was and that it was a mortal Kombat clone in a series that mortal Kombat is a clone of. The jokes were endless. We’d play it for a bit, get a laugh, then play the other better games
“Three” was replaced with 2nd impact, which we played a bit more but still kinda lame. The movie game only vanished after MvC2, 3rd strike, and Alpha 3 all dropped on that arcade.
Street fighter 3 was not played not cause of the roster. “Three” was lame as fuck. 2nd impact was an improvement but still hyper lame. But 3rd strike fixed everything wrong with the previous 2 entries and was different enough from Alpha 3 and MvC2 to get play time that was more than playing the movie game as a joke and for a few laughs. Still not enough to get play time than MvC1…. People in that arcade would put a Quarter on MvC2 to mark their spot in line, then play MvC1 while they waited or MSHvSF. And you knew if you played MSFvSF or MvC1 that at any moment your opponent may leave to play MvC2 and then you can practice combos for MvC2 u til the next match.
They’d do the same with Alpha 2 while waiting to play Alpha 3.
SF3 only ever had one machine in its series and the movie game was replaced with a second MvC2 machine.
Anyway, point was that SF3 didn’t suffer mainly cause of characters. Nor did many games that drastically changed the roster. They suffered for other things and that was a flaw blown out of proportion in that series…
So, Tekken 2 and 3. Main character is different, drastically changed roster, etc etc etc… buuuuuuuuuuuuuut have you played Tekken 2? And then 3? The gameplay for 1 is leagues better. Story? No one knew tekken 1 at all, they knew 2. And story wasn’t that important back then. Graphics are an insane improvement. Tekken 3 is better than 2 in every single way.
Then soul Calibur 2, the most widely praised. Then SC3 it was casually pretty great had most of SC2 cast, but didn’t have the guest characters. Other than that, better in every single way on a casual level. SC4 was kinda lame…. And they brought back guest characters, but it wasn’t nearly as epic as Link, Heiachi, and Spawn… and only one console at a time that wasn’t usually the case for fighting games (other than tekken). SC3 also suffered from this. Then SCV was lacking in single player stuff, arcade endings, story… as a single player game or for casuals it a million times worse than SC4. Remembered characters were only console exclusive for 4… anyway, casually SCV sucks as a game compared to sc3 and 4 which were competitively worse than 2. Casually… and no one wanted it. Gameplay was great and competitively it was better imo. But if casuals don’t buy it they won’t watch tourneys or care etc etc etc… One of the reasons SF is popular and probably always will be is everyone knows SF cause casually it’s always a fun game.
SF3 was not fun. Casually or competitively. SCV wasn’t fun casually. SF the movie wasn’t fun competitively but was fun for a laugh casually and competitively. This is why it did better than sf3 until 3rd strike appeared.

SF:TM was an attempt to one-up Mortal Kombat, and to be fair, it felt very much like one

    • @dnmstarsi
      @dnmstarsi 13 дней назад

It was never really an attempt to one up Mortal Kombat. They made this game because Capcom had the actors and it made sense to use them for their game especially if players got to play as JCVD, Mulan and Gomez Addams in a Capcom Fighting game. But they didn't want to make it so Incredible Technologies developed it for Capcom and as a result, we got something like MK for the Arcade games.
