The Nike Mercurial Vapor 12 Elite was a controversial boot in that it didn't feature a Teijin synthetic upper, but instead one made from Flyknit. Long time Vapor fans might not agree entirely, but overall, it was a really solid football boots and one of my personal favorite Vapor models to play in. Just over a year later, the Vapor 13 is here, a boot that looks very similar, but couldn't feel more different!
In today's video we review the Nike Mercurial Vapor 13 Elite, going over all of the details, changes and new technology that Nike have incorporated into what is a hugely improved take on a Flyknit Vapor! We get a lot of small "update" type releases these days, but this is not a small update, it's a proper step forward! What do you think of the Vapor 13?

Watching this in 12/28 and I think people can agree that these are the best mercurials ever, nothing else can reach that level of performance. It’s impressive how good these are. Responsive, comfortable, light, aggressive. They have everything.

I have tried the mecurial vapor 13s a lot and used the phantoms but for both the side of my foot (the inside of the boot) sinks into the side of the boot. Its really uncomfortable only there. Do you think it will be better to go for an Adidas speedflow .1? My feet are quite narrow
@@petercraig4just saw this! It’s been a minute haha. Well, it’s all about personal preference, I have tried them all since the 4th generation and with already 2 generations already settled, I have to say that the 13s are still the best boot I’ve ever worn.
@@marco7838that’s a tough one brother. The mercs are narrow but not they used to, but narrower than the phantoms for sure. I’d say you could gather as much information as possible about your feet (measuring it) and then try to find the best cleat for you, these reviews have helped me a lot to buy boots online without going to a physical store.

Great video. After 20 years of wearing K-leather (Adidas Copa and Nike Tiempo), finally tried the Mercurial Vapor 13 elite. The fit is spot on. My first impression was wow these cleats are so light. Felt like i could accelerate and run faster with them. Definitely one of the best soccer boots I have ever worn.
Did you order your size or did you go up on size?
Vapors look much better than the Superflies this generation in my opinion

Just received mine today and these really are a step up from the previous Vapor’s. feel much better on feet and snug aswell compared to the previous MV 12’s. Really worth it if anyone is looking to buy them

I was at the Nike store in Seattle a couple of days ago to try on the "new" releases. I was never able to wear any Mercs because I have wide flat feet, but I tried these on and I was surprised to see how comfortable they were. That upper is next level
So you’d recommend for someone with wide feet? I’ve wore Predator 18.1 last season but am looking at these this year.

it's a real achievement to sell a pair of "socks" for 250$, specially when you consider that the production cost for that pair of socks is around 15$.
What about the advertisement costs? The engineering costs? Shipping costs? Employees' salaries? Profit of the company? Do you live under a rock or what?

f you're implying that these are the same a regular pair of socks, that's a little silly. Obviously all of these boots cost a lot less to produce than they sell them for, but that's not all that goes into what determines the price of anything.

hi josh, i think the extra angles on that 4 studs are for the sake of reinforcement since the studs are 1mm longer. plus, the 4 studs are the most stepped on area on the soleplate.
anyway, great video josh. your reviews are always the only option if i want to buy new boots. even jay mike are not on your level. no offence jay mike. 😅

I also feel like they were inspired by the hypervenom phantom just that the craters on the skin are smaller, that's what makes it look like a net
Are the Puma King Platinums suitable for wide feet ? Leather is a good way to try and make sure they’ll fit ok but from the review you said they fit snug, would they be uncomfortable ?
Hey jablinski, last year I got my vapor 12’s in wolf grey and the 13’s came out and I saw the customization opinion and I HAVE to get them. But my 12’s are a size 11.5 and they stretched a little and the volume of the boot is a little too wide for my narrow foot. Do you recommend me going to 11 instead so that I get a tighter fit cause I don’t think you can return a 280$ custom boot. Please respond, thanks bro love your channel.

Joben, just a quick one on these boots. I have been wearing a pair for a few training sessions now, the first Mercurial Vapor / Superfly's I have ever owned. Loving them, but today was the first time I have worn them in the rain. Only a light rain, so the ground was still firm but wet on top. Anyway I noticed that my feet got wet in the boots, not something I particularly have an issue with football boots.
Is this normal for these models, or have my boots sprung a leak somewhere? This wasn't like just a bit damp, I could feel how wet my socks were like I had been standing in a puddle. Cheers, Jim.
I wouldn't say that it's abnormal. If there's enough water, eventually it will get in. I'd say that's the case with pretty much any boots though.

would you please review the AG-Pro version of these boots? They look much closer to the FG version, rather than the typical AG-Pro they used to put on all AG boots.

I wouldn't recommend wearing these FG boots on artificial grass.

Hey Josh, I bought the blue and black elite ag version and could notice some differences you somehow didn't mention and just wanted to ask about your opinion since I only want to keep one pair. I compared both of them in hand and tried them on at home and somehow the upper material on the blue one felt noticeable softer and not as stiff like on the black one. Also the black one has a "matte" finish and no sticky texture/feeling at all which feels like much less grip. I dont know if its only imagination but make sense to me when thinking about a matte iPhone which is very slippy in hand. Also when pushing with your thumb from the nike sign on the outside to the end of the toebox it really makes a different sound and also really feels different. So what are you thoughts on this? Just looking for the best shoe regarding perfomance. The black one was 20€ cheaper but I somehow feel its not the same. Thanks for reading!
Are you sure one of them isn't counterfeit? I have all 4 colorways and they're all exactly the same.
@@Soccerreviewsforyou I would say 99,99% sure since they are both from well known shops in Germany. So you feel zero difference between the "under the radar" black and blue one in the upper? When I use my thumb and slide with it from the nike sign to the outside of the toebox my finger almost stops from the texture on the blue one while on the black one there is no almost no resistance like the feeling when moving with the finger on a piece of paper (hope it doesn't sound too weird :D)
New challenge idea: get some track or xc spikes and go out and test them as football boots. I've always wondered how that would work with super thin uppers and obviously metal pin traction. I have a few pairs, but I'm not about to ruin my spikes. Also you have a RUclips channel.
There's no reason why it wouldn't work. Should you be running around with razor sharp metal studs that can puncture the ball, or more importantly cutting other people, probably isn't a good idea.

These vapor 13s busted me heel hard core blister about 3 by 1 inch. Used them for 15 mins and couldn’t wear shoes for 3 days -.-
I have the vapor 13’s and it fits perfectly but I get cramps on the outside of my foot but no where else.. why is this ?

Hey Jaylor.... What You are thinking about geting a new pair of Puma One 1 K-Leth in FG/AG nowadays? I bought few months ago a Adidas Ace 17.1 in AG and I just simply don't like how this boots feel. I really like my old Ace 15.1 but now I'm looking for something what feels like some sort of power boot and here comes this Pume One 1. And do You sugest to look for older top models of boots or maybe I should take a look for modern takedown models like Nike Tiempo Legend 8 Academy? Right now I could buy Pume One 1 at similliar price like new Tiempo Legend 8 Academy model.
