whats even better is that they are having a blast playing!...what a concept! Some people take themselves too seriously!...I love the smoke during the solo...fun fun
This is for anyone that complains about modern drummers' playing a load of licks...just listen to the first part of Marco's solo...he's playing the melody!! This proves them wrong! And what a great band! Fantastic stuff!
Hahaha, that drum solo actually had some 6/3 in it, believe it or not. I mean, it had a LOT of stuff in it, but I did hear and count 6/3 out of it, too! Amazing. Marco is just awesome.
Now thats some great drumming . As a pretty competent drummer myself I can really appreciate a drummer who can play like that . Great jam . Paul Gilberts not too shabby either . Awesome . Makes me want to play right now !......
It is an early Ibanez. In the 70's for a little while, they made les paul knock offs, as well as SG's. Paul Gilbert loves those odd guitars that shoudn't have been but were. He collects them.
I like the fact that he plays with a much smaller kit than MP did. A little more focused on playing rather than the ego. I'd like to hear the stuff Marco recently did with Jordan.
I thought exactly the same, since he's more of a rocker kind of player I didn't though he could improvise over a melodic minor mode as good as he did in here!
He may have not gotten the DT gig, but that's all good, because he's now drumming for Steven Wilson! Awwwwwwww Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
@estebanskater123 Yep. He's been touring with him for a while now in the support of his 2nd solo album. And he's going to to tour with him again throughout April-May. Steven really knows where to find great musicians.
Actually his work for necrophagist was after this video and his style is so varied that he can play any type of music funk, death metal, rock, and prolly anyother kind you can think of...
@stratdax Well I liked is lyrics and singing... especially the backing vocals on Constant Motion. It really comes down to personal taste whether you liked him or not, but you cannot deny that he did much more singing and drumming.. it was only the small part of his job. He directed the DVD's, produced the CD's, created the artworks, wrote the live setlists, keeps up the website and much more. To me it seemed like he did all this things not just because he wanted to, but because he had to.
marco minneman is basically just a genius drummer for hire. he plays everything from avant garde jazz to technical metal
Same for PG
Man, if I had a dollar for every pixel in this video, I'd be able to get half a stick of gum.
Me and my old guitarist used to jam everything up to the drum solo. Such a cool tune and just beautiful beat when you are in the pocket. 10/10
I've seen Marco play incredible drummer.maybe one if the most underrated
I,ve been playing drums for about forty years now and I have to say
"Marco" you are the "Jackhammer" ! ROCK ON ! ! ! ! !
I had an opportunity to see and hear Marco playing alive!! here in Mexico the last week, and He´s awesome!!
whats even better is that they are having a blast playing!...what a concept! Some people take themselves too seriously!...I love the smoke during the solo...fun fun
This is pure poetry. I'm telling you, it's hard to surpass what you can hear here. I love it.
Marco is such a joy to watch and listen! He's an amazing drummer and as it seems a nice person too!
Every time I hear Marco I'm bowled over by his coordination, agility and inventiveness - and the guitars are definitely an added bonus.
This is for anyone that complains about modern drummers' playing a load of licks...just listen to the first part of Marco's solo...he's playing the melody!! This proves them wrong! And what a great band! Fantastic stuff!
Marco's pretty insane on the drums. He puts really good coordination into his solo and versitility as well.
... man, was that great... the drum break was just so perfect
awesom drumming i can't belive they let marco solo for so long the best solo ever.
"MARCO MINNEMAN THE JACKHAMMER"! What a beast, I mean to have those hands is one thing, but to have those feet to match... WOW!!!
Marco and Paul are the must talented and happy musicians in the world, always smiling at every (impossible to play) riff
two of my favorite geniuses rehearsing, Minneman-Gilbert, great vid!
Marco you are the best! Whit H-Blockx you created best ever record "Fly Eyes"! Thanks man!
No band could say to marco he's not good enough, only ever that he might not fit. Love his feel.. And his cheeky grin :)
If Paul Gilbert is standing there in awe of what you're doing, that's saying something!
These guys are just pure magic.
These three guys are not human, they are so tight.
Drum solo back down into main riff.... full-body goosebumps. Nice.
thank god for cameras and youtube for this diamond!
Unbelievably awesome drum solo!!! Marco pwns all!!!
Both these guys are in the top echelon of drummers in the world. It's impossible to compare them because they can play anything.
I've officially seen shredding on drums... Thank you Marco
I came here to watch Marco be awesome. That happened but I'm extra-satisfied because I got a sweet guitar solo too.
best teamwork ever award
like the riff and that solo was really sweet. Started outside, jazzy sounding then to shred...oh, yeah, and that drummer kills
omg , if that were me i would have dropped my stick doing all those spins and what not , he is amazing , every song i've ever by them , he is amazing
man they are actually having fun, PG really loves & and enjoys music for real, his so humble and enjoys looking other musicians, in this case, marco
This clip was AMAZING!!! brilliant.
Hahaha, that drum solo actually had some 6/3 in it, believe it or not. I mean, it had a LOT of stuff in it, but I did hear and count 6/3 out of it, too! Amazing. Marco is just awesome.
god damn!, he hits the drums so fast they catch fire!!!!
this two can't be separated!
Totaly great drummer and my favorit.
This instrumental ftw
gia
It's actually a 77 Gibson LP, but with a shaved Ibanez neck so it played like his strat! It's an awesome sounding axe!
THE BEST JAM EVER.....
this is one of marco's best solos
marco minnemann is my hero. daaaaangggg...
haha love paul gilbert in the background when marco is playing the solo ^^
I always loved his style. Totally awesome and tight!!!
Now thats some great drumming . As a pretty competent drummer myself I can really appreciate a drummer who can play like that . Great jam . Paul Gilberts not too shabby either . Awesome . Makes me want to play right now !......
So... when I watch a drummer like Marco Minnemann, I look at my own drum set and think, "You know, I could make a nice set of end tables with that."
this is a lethal trio!
It is an early Ibanez. In the 70's for a little while, they made les paul knock offs, as well as SG's. Paul Gilbert loves those odd guitars that shoudn't have been but were. He collects them.
minnemann and gilbert.. they just make a great team. they even look alike.
Nothing like MARCO!!!!!!!! HELL YEAH!!!!
Fog machine was a fantastic touch to the drum solo
I love instrumentals, this song is badass. "JACKHAMMER!"
HOLY COW! this is spectacular!
Marco is amazing
Marco Minnemann + Paul Gilbert = Epic Win!
These guys go deeper in space than NASA
The guitarist when Marco finishes his solo "Fuck yeah!"
Superb!Thanks for posting it
one of my favorite drummers next to chris adler!
Cool space suits!
thank you. Something to aim for, cheers.
marco's crossovers are siccckk
Just Amazing
Oh my god, he's playing with Paul Gilbert! Their styles are so alike; I didn't know they'd ever played together! What a great performance.
Good job Marco.
I like the fact that he plays with a much smaller kit than MP did. A little more focused on playing rather than the ego. I'd like to hear the stuff Marco recently did with Jordan.
holy shiiiiiiit! marco minnemann is a beast!
It seems Marco is the new Dream Theater's drummer..... He ROCKS !!!!!
Marco is the PG of Drums, looks like he's having a right laugh.
marco minemann!!!!!
ultra veloz
\o
Lol at the end. "MARCO MINNEMAN THE JACKHAMMER!!"
notable un grande saludos de uruguay!
I'm so damn jealous of those suits
The international space station looks much bigger than I had thought!
@AWilhelmJens It's referring to 3 measures of 7/8 followed by 1 measure of 9/8 (7+7+7+9)
Man, a lawsuit era Ibanez Les Paul copy, a Rick 4001 turned into a P-Bass, and a sick set of DW Drums!
Marco's gotta be the best drummer in the world.... and if we're talking strictly of ability he might just top the best of all time....
and technical... and creative...
To be precise:
Its an Ibanez 2351M ( a les paul copy) from 1971
The look Paul gives Linus at 0:53 is like "fuck yeah, flanger on bitches".
2:31 looked like his kit lit on fire from the sheer awesomeness
sencillamente espectacular!!!!
I thought exactly the same, since he's more of a rocker kind of player I didn't though he could improvise over a melodic minor mode as good as he did in here!
the drum is on fire!!!~~
i would officially sell my soul for half the talent of paul gilbert. fact.
these two should play together more often.
The DVD this video is on is called Spaceship one or something. Basically a space theme.
outstanding...
Dude, Gilbert is not a normal guy.. he cant be a normal guy!
hahahah great song, great video =)
Very cool jam.
He may have not gotten the DT gig, but that's all good, because he's now drumming for Steven Wilson! Awwwwwwww Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
Marco Minnemann FOR NEXT DREAM THEATER DRUMER!!!
marco!!! great!!
@estebanskater123 Yep. He's been touring with him for a while now in the support of his 2nd solo album. And he's going to to tour with him again throughout April-May. Steven really knows where to find great musicians.
love this !
That's just Marco's signature What-the-fuck-is-going-on fill.
Actually his work for necrophagist was after this video and his style is so varied that he can play any type of music funk, death metal, rock, and prolly anyother kind you can think of...
@stratdax Well I liked is lyrics and singing... especially the backing vocals on Constant Motion. That is superb !!!!
According to Marco's website it is a DW 22" gong drum
Having that fuckin' astronaut suit must have been like hotter than the Devil's Nut Sack!
Ton's of Respect to Minnemann and Gilbert!
