We're actually getting pretty good buildup and payoff with The Thunderbolts. The Thunderbolts Saga isn't too bad.
There’s also the tag at the end of GOTGv3 saying “The Legendary Star-Lord will return”

The end credits scene with the Vulture & Scorpion is now moot since Dr Strange made everyone forget that Peter is Spider-Man.

Dr. Strange did battle Mordo, as mentioned in dialogue. The audience wasn't invited. We also weren't invited to any of the transformations between hulk hiding inside Banner, hulk merging with Banner, Banner reversing the merger, and discovering his son. My take on phase 4 is too many of the most interesting potential scenes still happened, but the audience wasn't invited.
They do not have a post credit scene problem. They have a failing story problem that make the after credits irrelevant

I don't think the filmmakers and Feige were on the same page with these post-credits teasers. They feel like the filmmakers were putting their wishlist out there and hope they could go back to do that story. But without prior knowledge or approval by Feige, they may never be made.
Stan Lee and the writers from Marvel wrote thousands of amazing immersive stories, but no we can't just stick to a story....

Stan Lee wrote the bad, hokey dialogue for most of the 60s and 70s comics. He also outlined them.
The actual implementation, nuance, and (yes) immersion, was largely up to the artists around Stan, who had to double as writers.

The moment the world was introduced to comedy
One of the main characters of Runaways was still possessed by an evil entity last time we checked, there's another demon still on the loose at the end of Hellstrom, and this isn't technically a cliffhanger but we need to see Colleen Wing and Danny Rand use their new glowing weapons from the end of Iron Fist.
Runaways is basically as canon to the MCU as Cloak and Dagger. Which is to say, it isn't.
He got better.
You just need lots of fluids and bed rest until the evil entity passes.
In Johnny's defense, while he did in fact say all those things, Wade was the one who ratted him out (and practically unprovoked, too). So, uh... yeah.
Shouldn't have said, "And you can quote me on that" to Deadpool of all people.
The only post Endgame post credit scene to pay off was Black Widow.
They NEED to follow up on these threads, otherwise post-credit scenes don't matter anymore. I used to eagerly wait 'til the credit were done because I knew it would hint at the next project. Now I don't really care.

I feel like they only really happen because they want people to actually watch the credits because those people deserve the love as well, cuz they did just as much work as most people in whatever film.

it was just announced at d23 that moon knight season 2 is currently in production.

They need to focus on making a good release and not worry about teasing things that may or may not happen in ten years. Disney+ shows should take time to build up team lead ins, and then have a movie straight after with a big world event, you know - like comics do
Props for still doing a spoiler warning for Deadpool and Wolverine several weeks after release! Some people were spoiling it days later with no warning! Respect
I know it's not a post-credit scene but Mysterio's group escaped with the hologram tech at the end of Far from Home and they haven't paid it off yet.
The final film of the MCU will have a post credit scene revealing thr entire saga, every movie was just a hologram

There is stuff even within the films themselves that haven't been paid off. Looking at The Incredible Hulk.
You forgot the end of Shang Chi teasing something calling from the rings....that was supposed to be a Kang reference apparently. So who knows if we'll get a resolution to that now.
They could easily pivot to the rings being Dr. Doom tech

I was talking about this same thing while leaving alien romulus. The ppl behind me were staying until they heard me talk about ridley Scott hating end credit scenes.
In the early days of the MCU the post credits scene merely teased and set up the next movie in the story. Since phase 4 there has been too many disjointed stories to follow whereas that wasn’t the case in phases 1-3. There is no way to tell if the post credit scene sets up a sequel or leads in to another movie or show, or if the writers don’t know where it goes and are just hoping Feige will see it and give them the chance to make whatever show or movie the post credit scene is suppose to setup. It just needs to stop.

Dr. Strange 3 will be about him going after Werewolf By Night, costarring Moon Knight. He'll make a quick side comment about Clea, then we'll never hear anything about her ever again. Elsa who? None of the characters will act the way they did in their own shows or movies, because none of the writers watched any of them. It'll end with a post credits scene with Nightmare, who will never be seen again. MARVEL!

They’re throwing sh*t against the wall and hoping for something to stick
things (MISTAKES) that need to be undone and make non-canon:
- T'Challa junior - just go with a VARIANT T'Challa in Secret Wars
- Eternals - not needed yet
- Melina (played by Rachel Weisz in Black Widow) - she needs to be made a super villain to Yelena Belova
- recast Hercules with Henry Cavill (as Marvel should've done in the first place)

I wish they’d just stop doing post-credit scenes. They’re a good way to get audiences to stick around for all the cast / crew’s names to pop up, and give them their fair time. But it’s also super annoying having to wait 10-15 minutes for one scene that doesn’t matter all that much anyway.
I still have so many questions from the end of phase 4:
What happened to poor Ava/Ghost? Is she still in pain? Is she still uncontrolably phasing through stuff? Can somebody please help this poor woman!
Why is almost no one talking about the gigantic Celestial that is sticking out of the planet? Yes, it was on the news, but Tiamut is so incredible huge, that I'm wondering, why he isn't a bigger deal. Why hasn't his body turned into a tourist-spot or something? Seriously: If Tiamut were a bit smaller, I genuatly wouldn't give a $hit about him, but the fact that he's a s big as the planet and everyone is still ignoring him for the most part pisses me of. (Yes, we was mentioned in "She-Hulk" but still.)
Why does no one talk about the fact that the night sky turned back thousands of years? I understand that only the avatars could see the gigantic Kaiju-fight at the end of "Moon Knight", but the sky turning back was visiable to everyone who was on the night-side of the planet. (Yes, we did see the people reacting to it while it was happening, but why is no one talking about what happened then?) Also: Did this have an effect on Jack Russel? Was this poor man violeting switching from human-form to werewolf-form during this event?
Wehre is White Vision? We haven't seen him since the beginning of phase 4!
Wo bought the Avengers-tower? Was it Reed Richards?
Where are America's parents? Are they still alive? Will she ever see them again?
Why did Blade contact Dane Whitman?
Are Loki and Thor ever gonna see each other again? Will Loki ever met Love, his kinda-niece?
What happened to the piece of the symbiont, Venom's ofspring, that was left in the MCU? That thing won't survive long without a hoast. We see it being collected in the "Venom"-trailer, but why was it on earth-19999 to begin with, if it's just gonna get picked up again?
What was that beakon that the ten rings send out at the end of "Shang-Chi" & where and to whom are they sending that signal?

At this point. X-men ‘97 should get a movie budget and be allowed to premiere in theaters, weekly.
I remember during the one at the end of Spider-Man Homecoming thinking if these things are going to start mocking themselves then they're run their life.
The real problem is why is Hercules smaller in size than Thor.
Honestly, I'm still waiting to see what happened to "Mr. Blue" from "The incredible Hulk". The last time we saw him, in the beginning of phase 1, he started o mutade after he was infected with something. (i think it was Bruce' blood.)
This is one thing that long-time comic reader may have a leg up on. The final panel of virtually every comic book was dedicated to setting up something which may or might never be addressed later. There were great examples, such as seeing Steven Lang spying on the X-Men, only to cut further back to see Eric the Red spying on him. Those panels did bear fruit, but some just simply went away, plotlines never again to be seen.
I've treated most end-credit scenes like this. If the story arc follows what was imagined by the writers of the scene, we'll be seeing the results later. If significant changes happen, it's gone, like a pruned universe.
So, rather than being scandalized that some end-credit scenes will never get paid off, just treat them as they are: Ideas of what might come.
This problem goes back as far as dr strange and homecoming. Probably even further.
Even my daughter, who loved the Marvel movies, has completely lost interest in any of the recent movies or TV shows. I just don’t care, anymore. I haven’t watched, or had any interest in watching, anything Marvel in at least two years. This whole strategy seems to be aimed at a very niche market.

Who doesn’t love clickbait titles?
So many great characters have been teased and it would be such a shame to let them go to waste due to bad planning at Marvel. Starfox, Hercules, Black Knight, all awesome characters. And Moon Knight and Shang Chi were great additions and deserve more attention as well. On top of that, She-Hulk is one of the best characters from the comics IMO and she deserve a re-match... with an actually capeable writing/production team

Why can’t post credits scenes just be little tidbits for us to laugh at or just enjoy? I know it used to be post credit scenes were basically a teaser trailer before the two became separate for marketing. However, why does that have to be the case? Why can’t we just find our heroes in weird situations outside any movie? Just like a fun thing we get to see? Not everything everywhere has to be connected, last I checked everyone is over the multiverse thing anyway. I mean The Stan Lee himself has made a cameo in every of I remember every marvel movie. Nobody is seriously considering he’s the watcher or anything. It’s just a fun wave from the man behind marvel. Why can’t these post credit scenes at least now if not especially now just be equated to that?

The real issue is that the more film and television series get added into the MCU, the longer it takes for individual series to get sequels
And the longer it takes for sequels to come out, the longer it takes for post credit scenes to have payoffs. You’ll be waiting 5+ years to even see it be continued.
Or in the case of Dr Strange and Spider-Man the post credit scene doesn’t even have any payoff.

Spider-Man: Homecoming actually had the balls to troll audiences for waiting to the end. While it was humorous trolling in some ironic way, it began an unironic trolling in my eyes.
Spider-Man: Far From Home was the beginning of post credits not being paid off as soon as you think they’d be. No mention of Scorpion in that movie nor in the sequel No Way Home
From then on I became less interested in post credits scenes. Ain’t nobody got time to be waiting 5+ years for payoff for PC scenes

I thought that the mordo thread was tied up with the throw away line strange gave about mordo trying to kill him multiple times. Not satisfying, but at least addressed.
You did miss the OTHER Marvels scene with Kamala Khan starting to recruit the young avengers.
He missed lots of post credits scenes, apparently.
You guys didn't like Thor, Thor 2, The incredible hulk, capt america the first avenger, or iron Man 2 either but nobody claimed the MCU was dead back then .. there is nothing wrong with the mcu at all.. there's like 46 projects, just because somebody doesn't like maybe five of them doesn't mean the franchise is dead. We didn't like every comic book that came out back in the day either but that doesn't mean we hated marvel as a whole. You're bound to run into a project you don't like from time to time. I also think it's extremely convenient that every movie that is hated is led by a woman
The post credit scenes in the infinity saga all felt relevant to the overall story of that saga and we saw the payoff of almost every single one by Endgame's release. Theyre just not exciting anymore cause they havent followed up on almost any of the ones from the multiverse saga

I love the MCU, it has such a bright future.
Someone needs to tell Kevin Feighe to stop including them in his movies. Since he is the overall godfather of these movies he would have final say. Personally I'm getting tired of waiting to see them and then have them go nowhere and no plans for them to go anywhere!!!! The past couple of movies I haven't even hung around, I go home and Google the scene.

@@rami_ungar_writer Not that I didn't enjoy Multiverse of Madness, but I think it would've made more sense to make the second Doctor Strange movie focus on Mordo's campaign to rid the world of sorcerers.
See, the problem is, the Multiverse Saga set up way too many plotlines and the majority of those plotlines lead nowhere.
The first Doctor Strange’s post credits scene, though the movie itself wasn’t bad, set a red flag for what was to come because 199999/616 Mordo had no further onscreen interaction with Strange.
But when the trend REALLY started was in 2021. Shang-Chi was a great movie, albeit as a standalone film, but the mid-credits and post-credits scenes both led nowhere because they never got addressed ever since. Xialing becoming the new Mandarin happened, but it never got mentioned ever again. Wong met Shang chi, but no further interaction happened. It’s as if they just do a project, even if the project is good, and then just leave the characters behind. Eternals had the Pip the Troll and Harry styles mid credits scene, that led nowhere because nothing after that got announced for those characters. Multiverse of Madness’ Clea post credits scene led nowhere because nothing after that got announced. Thor 4’s Roy Kent scene happened, but led nowhere because of the same reasons as a lot of the previous ones. Quantumania’s could have led to Avengers 5, formerly titled Kang Dynasty, but it didn’t age well because Marvel fired Majors just bc he got in trouble with the law and the movie flopped. The Marvels’ young avengers scene came out of nowhere along with the Beast scene.
And with Dr Doom as the next villain who isn’t gonna appear until F4: first steps, he’s not gonna have much buildup and it concerns me, as his previous adaptations were lackluster. And as promising as Doomsday and Secret Wars are, I’m having numerous doubts about them and those were some of my concerns. And the craziest part was compared to those two, I never had any concerns before Infinity War and Endgame came out. That’s what bothers me about the current MCU.
