I used to watch my neighbors baby while she worked, and a toddler can fit into her kids daily routine. Moms have been watching each other’s kids for years, just find one who will pay you for it.
At this point both financially and relationship wise - the son may benefit more from 15 minutes of kicking a soccer ball with dad in the backyard over paying for a season of team soccer. If he doesn't know how much he makes at each job and they are paying for team sports still despite saying they are desperate then maybe they just need to get organized and prioritize differently. However it’s her fault too. You are in debt making $45,000 a year with 4 kids working 120 hours a week. This is just irresponsible in my opinion and it never ends well when the income earner is burnt out. How does anyone afford 4 kids making $45,000 a year? My family had 3 kids making the same and we were dirt poor. We never saw dad and mom started to check out. Then the neglect comes when mom is warn thin. Now I don’t need to work 40 hours a week I chose to for sanity. The rest is spent with family, and wealth is still compounding. Time will save you exactly “half” in life.

Wife takes a night time job while he stays home with the kids with their night time routine. He can then sleep in a bit in the morning while the wife does the morning routine. He cant be the only one working.

It's pretty easy to plan for two, end up with a set of twins and then have an accident. That very well could be the case. Hold the judgement.
