Great review! This might be an unpopular opinion, but I appreciate that they kept the potentiometer for the sticks as all controllers that I've come across that feature hall effect had been oddly inaccurate, in my experience. I personally believe that they cheap out on this tech, as AFAIK the OG dualshock 3 and dreamcast controlled featured hall effect and I never had an issue with those. Keep it up!
Dreamcast did, I never heard of it being a thing on PS3 before. And yes, there are a ton of cheap Hall Effect sticks that are pretty crap. A tuned one though is so nice!
@@ArchadesGames It seems that DS3 made before 2012 feature hall effect sticks, if you look at the model# at the back and it ends with "A1", it should be one of those
So a good controller.. for everyone but us fgc crowd 🤔 assigned to everything else then. Should be good for the 'rim. Best fightpads are still XB1 Elite and would you believe, any sony ps3 onward...
@@ArchadesGames ooh that's bad! When I had one it was strictly for fighters so I didn't experience that. It was the GOAT for tekken, sf, calibur etc. Or maybe it's just me, I can pull Ninja's (N64 fighters destiny) Dance Draw Triangle Kick on that N64 spongepad 😅 the precision and timing required was off the scale, KI was easy compared.. 😁
@@AncientGamer1975 I'm still trying to find an Xbox controller that matches dual shock 4's dpad for fighting games. 8bit do has some but they aren't quite there. The stock Xbox one's dpad dish is ALMOST really good but it requires just a little too much oomph to get it to register inputs accurately.
@@NYG5 fr that ps dpad is goated. I've been looking at the Hori fightpad pro too, but I dunno on that one. I'm getting old(er) now so I don't want to fight the pad AND the opponent 😅. Wait! It doesn't matter, "modern controls" lmao. Yh right, I'd never use that noob nonsense which is destroying our beloved fighting games. Was gonna get an actual arcade stick, but fighters went too casual. Scrub city now 😆
Its not wireless so it is pretty useless to me. For $25 I got a knockoff wireless Xbox 360 controller with the pc wireless adapter. Its 2024 almost 2025, we have the technology to make controllers wireless even with a dongle. It just seems cheap to me.
@@JrsFTW unfortunately, Microsoft is incredibly stingy and does not allow 3rd party manufacturers to use their proprietary wireless protocol for other controllers, so this was expected :(
@@CodyTheWolfdog It definitely sucks, I would have bought the Duke and this one if it was wireless. The last time I used wired was the PS2 days and it was a tripping hazard. I would be playing a game and someone would come walking by launching the entire PS2 onto the floor. The poor PS2 lasted years until it fell apart and then kept working another year.

Nice! Too bad I find the DS3 unbelievably uncomfortable 😅
The dpad on the original Xbox 360 controller is solid.
That's a damn fine controller here!
It's been a good one!
I would get this, but oem controllers are still cheaper
They are, can find a few new ones for $25 still
Great review Jerry!
Thanks for checking it out!

Just to add, XB1 Elite is still the KING, every move is perfect and nothing drops, unless the user is wac 😅
I hated my elite controller from Day 1 😅 my Elite 2 fared better but even its sticks gave out after 6 months 🙃

Thanks a lot @@ArchadesGames
NP!
Good review, thanks! Ps: It's not "Dutches" lol. It's "Duchess", like the feminine of "Duke" (name of the original Xbox OEM controller). Cheers
Kinda sad you dont throw controllers out the window anymore you’re getting soft in your old age.
Gotta let more people miss it before its fiery comeback!
