It honestly was a nice touch toward the connection the two characters would soon have. Also the expessions between all the characters are honestly beautiful. I can totally see Veronica's attraction. JD's basically refusing to let these jerks get away with trying to bully him. He shows he's smarter by snarking back, then when they try to "punish" him by beating him up, he defends himself so well that they're both on the floor. He's basically just proved to the whole school, "just leave me alone, you don't wanna mess with me". He only goes off the rails when he starts killing people because they were threatening Veronica, and then deciding to blow up the school.
Yeah, I watched it in school, and the entire time I was looking around-mouth hanging open-trying to see the other kids reactions.😂 I enjoyed the musical though, kinda found it funny how dark it was.
