Just finished the game today, and... Boy, that took a dark turn. I spent the whole game thinking Rusty would be the final boss, but even though I'm glad he didn't turn out to be evil, damn that ending was dark. Moreso over the fact that not all of them survived. Like the crab guy or the lady that got stuck down the elevator, not to mention the other characters from the first game like Lola, Biff or Dandy. Or well, all of steambot civilization. But the darkest fact is that, you unintentionally caused this. You thought it was Rusty attempting to destroy the world, but he was actually saving it. And you don't even get a good ending if you collect everything. It just ends like this. A cliffhanger, making the player beg for more. If there's ever a sequel, both Rusty and Dot should be playable, with 2 player multiplayer too.
There was Steamworld Heist which took place after Steamworld Dig 2, but it came before, isn't really a true sequel, and Rusty was only shown at the end.

I really liked the 1 and the 2 i really hope they make the 3 . I really want to know mote about rusty he fought with those shiners but got captured by rosie in the end. He still a beast he tried the save the world again on his own.
So she is the FINAL boss! And here i am thinking its some mid boss..... and that i hade 20 more hours of gameplay, soo sad, looking at the map and all the unknows you would think theres more. Got tired trying to beat rosie and looked up this video...
I tried 3 or 4 times to beat her and never tried again, until last weekend, 3 years later. The game is really easy, but that boss is kinda hard for me. It's maybe cause I play it on Vita, with huge hands 😂
@@city7919 I beat her on the first try, try preparing a bit more, get more upgrades such as the sun armor and etc. I spent end game farming for money and cogs for the last fight.
As i understood it is something of irradiated alcholic stuff .Also very toxic andf causes mutations which is why leftovers of humanity were kinda... crazy.
We know there will be another game, SteamWorld Headhunter, the developers on their website say that HH will be a direct sequel to Dig 2. I guess we'll see, hopefully we'll see Dot and Rusty in the next game.
This is probably the worst designed boss in video game history. You can easily get stuck between acid and ceiling or between wall and boss, with no option but to die. Randomly spawning bricks of dirt make this fight only 100% worse than It shout be. Running around while waiting for it's shooting patterns to end. I'm glad there are few bosses in this game as developers clearly don't understand how a boss fight should be
I wouldn’t say it’s an amazing boss fight, but I can’t remember encountering any of the problems you mentioned. If I did, they didn’t persist long enough for me to remember them. Not to say they might not be a real problem for others, but I don’t think the design was quite as bad as you make out.

I think 1 year ago i lost to her 2 times. But today i revisited the game and i beat her at my first turn it was pretty easy.
It took me somewhere around 10 tries to beat her. Nothing was maxed out, so it was kind of hard for me.
