    Another grounding reason is electric.
    The body runs on electrical impulses. Today's common environments are absolutely jammed with electromagnetic waves (house wiring, cell towers, radio towers, wifi antennae, cell phones, computer screens, microwave ovens, and many other sources of EMR). The body receives radiation like an antenna and stores a lot of ions like a capacitor. Remember those static electricity experiments where you discharged by touching a grounded metal object with a finger? Getting the build up of charge out of the body so the brain, nerves, and muscles can function more clearly is important. Ground your skin to the earth and discharge.
