Report:
On 12/29/2021,
Officers were dispatched to a report of a domestic in the parking lot of Crunch Gym.
On scene officers met with the suspect, whom officers found engaged in an emotional conversation with the victim. He was standing over her as she sat in the driver's seat of her car. As officers approached he quickly walked around to the passenger side. Officers noted he was red faced and teary-eyed, and appeared agitated.
An officer asked the suspect to tell him what was going on and he said nothing. Officers asked him to elaborate and he reluctantly explained that he and the victim had been arguing. Officer asked if the two had been fighting and he said they had both hit each other. Officer asked him if the two lived together, had kids together, or had been married and he said none applied.
The suspect expressed great concern about being observed talking to the police near his work. He asked if the officer could move the patrol car somewhere more discreet, and asked if they could talk further away from the business.
Officers asked what the argument had been about, and he answered that she was going to give him a ride home when he remembered he forgot his phone and the two began to argue. He said she decided she would not give him a ride home and, his home being six miles away, he became aggravated.
Officer next spoke with the victim, whom officer asked to step out of the car to speak with them. She said she had Injured h***** and did not want to get up. The officer asked if she needed EMS and she said she did not. Officer asked the victim to tell her what had happened and she said that following an argument about the suspect getting his phone she told him to get out of the car and that the two began to fight.
Dispatch advised that the suspect had an active bond condition to have no violent, intimidating, or harassing contact with the victim. He was arrested on charges of simple battery-fv and violation of the bond condition.
Officers speaking with the victim learned that the injury she mentioned earlier but for which she declined EMS was in fact a gunshot wound. EMS was called.
Officers asked the suspect where the gun was and he said it was somewhere in the car. Officers located the gun and recovered the spent bullet from the ground near where the victim was treated on scene.
Officers asked the victim how she came to be shot. She said that during the argument she had held the pew pew in her left hand close to her leg to keep it out of view and had accidentally shot. Officers on scene asked if she was left or right handed and she said she was right handed.
Officers reviewed the surveillance footage from Crunch Fitness but it appeared to be of limited value.

I've reached a point where I think I'm no longer blaming the black people for being trashy in these videos. Like if the system *never* punishes them why would they change, it's just an inconvenience like arguing with a store owner. Behaviors will never change unless their environment changes around them (like any other life on earth). I'm starting to believe these judges who thinking their "protecting" the 'oppressed" are the ones actually putting them into a repeating cycle of failure.
Of course these people are responsible for their personal choices too, but how can one expect to learn from mistakes in life if they never seem like mistakes? A mistake needs to result in something bad in order for you to attempt to avoid it in the future.

Not really. I have plenty of experience with guns and I've owned them all my life, handguns, shotguns, riffles but I've never shot a revolver. It doesn't mean I'm ignorant to firearms, I've just happened to never own one.

My point is its her job as a cop to unload a firearm safely for all involved and if she doesn't know how then she should take it on herself to learn. But when I say the LAST thing I ever considered doing was bringing a firearm into the equation when I already felt threatened for my life without it anywhere near the situation. Unless you’re ready to shoot no questions asked that the worst thing you can do. God forbid you bring it for protection and then hesitate using it and it gets into the hands of your abuser. She showed up to his place of employment trying to make a scene. Neither one of them seems innocent and it seems they’re both equally a problem.
The conditions were for her to stay away from him too. Now we know she was shot that's why she wanted weed. She look uncomfortable the whole time. It because she was shot. She needs to be locked up are her medical treatment.

Contrary to popular belief, police officers are not firearms experts. They aren't Marines. 99% of cops will never fire their gun in their ENTIRE CAREERS. This idea that all police officers should be quick draw marksman that can hip fire a pistol and hit a target at 100 yards and disassemble any weapon ever made blindfolded is just ridiculous. 99% of police work has absolutely nothing to do with guns or combat. Hardcore gun enthusiasts that fire thousands of rounds a week will be the first to tell you they OFTEN encounter guns that have mechanisms and features they aren't familiar with.

If she was issued a RO, I absolutely agree. Typically, however, the alleged victim isn’t bound by the RO; the suspect is warned that the victim isn’t bound to it and if the victim contacts the suspect, they need to ignore them and keep away from them even if the victim shows up at the suspect’s house or work. The suspect is the only one who can violate the RO and go to jail, and sometimes the victim contacts the suspect for just that reason.

Given that there is not just one revolver lock design and few people use them these days it's possible they don't know how to open it, hell you don't even know the correct parts of the revolver as they would be opening the cylinder not the barrel.

@@BobbyBoccalino cops are trained on their service weapons. They may get some additional training from their department but that’s not always the case. Again just because you are familiar with a firearm don’t mean everyone is.

These folks are definitely not model citizens, but the female cop conflating "uncooperative" and "hostile", and asking a load of self-incriminating questions without mirandizing the suspect... that's the kind of crap that sadly gets charges dropped later on (as was the case here).
She was cooperative but not hostile. To me it’s a bit confusing as to exactly when they need to mirandize people because they immediately begin investigation to try to figure out what happened.. True sometimes they incriminate themselves but there’s also safety concerns that have to be checked out.
@@deborahbarksdale826 I think most officers are a bit confused regarding this as well - as far as my flawed understanding goes, they are entitled to ID - and as they have the right to disarm a suspect for their safety I'm _guessing_ they can inquire as well whether the the suspects are armed when cuffing them (and similar approach in case they have to do inventory on a vehicle). Anything else falls under the 5th.
Again, could be wrong, particularly with how each state has their own legislation in the US. Feel free to correct me, but post your sources in case you do so - otherwise your "information" is as good as mine.
