I don't have book of moon or mst but I do have canadia and even just putting two in my hieratic deck made it better turn 1. It dropped aggressive consistency but it was definitely worth it cause I kept drawing cards I can't do anything with on turn one. Switching some high level monsters and aggressive spells out we're definitely worth the two canadia. Even with all these back row removals trap cards still hit like a truck (is used correctly)
The problem with the archetype is the lack of good Gimmick Puppets XYZ aside from Gigantes or Grinder, the rest are pretty much too Gimmicky (surprising, isn't?) and are basically just beatsticks, if they make a Skill like "Ultimate Dragons" with their Number C monsters then I could see some potential.

i was playing my first game on FireKings and faced gimmick puppets and the condolence puppet banishing and making their 3k attack monster indestructible and i basically just lost the game can't hit over nor destroy

Puppets are a powerful combo deck if used/built properly. My deck isn't quite finished but it wins against onamats and sometimes harpies as well. I've been playing Puppets for a long time but I do agree Puppets will always be trash. They aren't the best nor will ever as they are fragile. I do see you're going for the more control combo style and it can work but try a more glass cannon build focused on Xyz Summoning more than the protection effects. It sounds weird but it's how I've been playing it and it's amazing. Strings is the main boss even with Giant Grinder being the remover. Still despite the problems I have with your build it's good for a control build for Puppets!
Gimmick Puppets were released too late in the meta game to be relevant. If they'd come out in the early Zexal meta with XYZ summoning being all the rage, they'd have been killer. It's hard to compete against Blue Eyes and Aromas.
Eso you CAN get by without animation cancelling, they didn’t entirely remove it but they nerfed the main usage point on it (block weaving) to be so minimally better that it actually sucks cuz if you Carpet cuz you’re out of resources it’s dick

it's funny, puppet defeats meta decks only because the opponents are too stupid to read. I notice this very often, you feel so overwhelming and you can't get anything done. hoff onomath and harpies get a place on the ban list

I played against only 1 gammic puppet deck. Ended board on giant rex and baby and Marella sent survivals end to gy in draw phase (had misc in hand). He goes into rank 4 and targets both my dinos to steal... I laughed as I chained misc
They just should have made Des Troy Quattros Lvl 35 reward because i really think as soon as des troy gets released gimmick will get too OP because they can play any XYZ without beeing forced to use this skill

It is just easy to konami make a "debuff" when someone surrenders, like, if you surrender, you cannot enter into ranked duels for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes of waiting, now you can enter in. Just saying...
Some people are summoning and chaining monsters when they know they are already clearly winning. Sometimes they stall and let you deck-out instead. It's wasting precious seconds that could be used to play more duels. I also do that sometimes to piss off my opponent that uses decks I hate so it's fair play if they surrender too. If you know you're already losing why waste your time even more anyway? I'm glad there is a surrender option for this type of situation. In addition, you still win and they still lose so there really isn't a point to punish players just because they surrender. The same concept when resigning on Chess. On the other hand, players that use "connection failure" are a waste of time and weren't really part of the game mechanics so they could incorporate a temporary ban for 5 minutes or more on those accounts instead.
Of course since you either run treacherous and Book of moon or other backrow , or you are in gold ranks in the 1st place , since gimmick puppets are trash in tourneys and sometimes on the higher ranks too
