This is the only one of these stories that actually made me cry. These men are true heroes.
100% agree
I don't think I blinked for most of this episode. Overwhelming odds. Everything about this should have spelled nothing but total disaster for everyone involved. I bet it was a very long night for that guy in his yacht. My heart is so broken for Rick's family. I'm in awe of Dave. His faith, leadership, and extraordinary bravery and strength was almost superhuman. The fact that another helicopter and a small ship were sent out in those conditions made my jaw stay wide open. God bless first responders. Wow.
I didn't realise how hooked I was to this episode until I noticed your comment and nearly an hour has just passed 😮 brilliant episode so sad that someone lost their life trying to save another I've had my own personal rescue and been on saving life's at sea I'm lucky to be here thanks to the brave people at the r.n.l.i they are so brave and do a job they don't get paid for we are lucky to have people who are so selfless thank you all for your service to us
When I seen your comment I was like okay I got to watch this😁
I held my breath for so long i went dizzy 🥴 massive respect to these true heroes

To those who risk their lives to save others in these kinds of missions-Thank you for being so selfless and so brave. Most people are not as selfless and brave as you in this planet. You are true hero’s of our world. Respect to all of you
Some of the bravest men that serve our country ty for your service.
The tears are streaming … I always say ‘ego kills’ … Captain Dave you were ego-LESS, self-LESS and the epitome of a human hero … YOU are a LEGEND … your colleagues survived because of your UNRELENTING FOCUS & DETERMINATION and selflessness …
My heart breaks for Rick but what you say is profound … ‘there are things we do so that others may live’
EXTRAORDINARY …. We SALUTE YOU.
UNFORGETTABLE
It's very humbling when others are putting their lives on the line to save Yours ❤
I'd expect someone to save me. It's literally their job 😂
I do it every day.... saving people's lives. The worst part is that no one's ever great full for more than a couple of days. Then they just go right back to their same old selfs and continue to show why we as human don't deserve life. I would go as far as to say that only about 5% of this world deserves real happiness. 95% of people shouldn't be alive😢 and if you think I'm saying I do deserve life, you're dead wrong. I'm an ungrateful pos just like everyone else...

That’s a sad outlook :/ are you a nurse? How do you save lives every single day?
Rip Rick 🙇♀️.
Respect and gratitude to those selfless individuals.
Wow what a story! My respect to our military and first responders ❤
Best episode yet
Definitely Top 5!! I still have 76 days at Sea #1 and the dumb So Cal hikers dead last lol. Ocean survival is always the Best!
Nothing with ever top 76 days adrift! This was a hell of an episode though
@gregtrust5599 Right!! 76 is just unreal!! (That was the first one I ever saw just a couple weeks ago and I been watching episodes everyday since then lol)
@@Ifyoudontknownowuknowthis & the guys that fell in the crevasse are my two favorite episodes. This was my second time watching this one.
Gosh what a great episode! I always wonder what happens to the rescue team when they go on their missions. They are so brave and selfless! This is a reminder that every time we go on adventures, and things don't go as planned, there are people who are risking their lives to save other people's lives.
😊😊
All these men are heroes. And dave`s the superhero.
Wow .. I am speechless. The bravery, courage and strength of these men is amazing.
You know it’s Friday when we get a good video like this
I seen this one years ago. It's a re upload 😂
YAAAAAAAY!!! more more more ! i cant get enough , these storys are insane! people are incredible under these circumstances cant even imagine ....
Stories, not storys😂😂😂
@@luciemarinov129 xD oops
I know this story well … it is included in the book The Perfect Storm by Sebastian Junger. Incredible story, incredible book. A must read for lovers of nautical disasters, weather etc. ❤️🇨🇦
I am so sad that Rick had to die. His poor wife and kids. Tears running down my face.
Heros all of them. What a dreadful thing to happen to anyone. ❤
😢 horrible. I struggled watching this. These men really do wake up everyday with God on their mind. Thank you all for putting us first before yourselves. RIP for your friend. My heart goes out to the family and you all. ❤
I practically cried when they saw the coast guard ship
It’s pretty damn scary when unrelenting sharks become the least of your worries out in the open ocean
its so incredible both the chopper and ship could find them at dark that far out in the ocean in a storm like that
Lord; may Rick be in your hands. God bless
This is one of my favorite survival stories...
Omg one of the best episodes ever these where some brave men I really appreciated this episode just a glimpse of what they have to go through heart wrenching ❤️❤️🙏🏾 very brave men!
Definitely one for the books. I was really into this one. Its amazing tgey made it ,... RIP rick..
YEAH, !!!! i haven't seen this one before. Happy Friday to me 😂❤
Broke my heart at the thought about the dog. It is not silly they are family too. ❤ 🐾
What an amazing story and i havent finished yet!
That yachtsman should get his own episode
Damn. They just kept repeating injury after injury for John. What a survivor... gee whiz..... thank goodness there were survivors. That ocean can be torrential. Neptune really showed out that night!
They went to save a life, that life was saved, meanwhile they lost one of their own 😢😢😢. 4 little girls without a daddy 😢😢😢😢
I remember this one. Tragic but extremely entertaining. What a great story.
Oh y’all dropping bangers
Halloween 91 was a wild time. Yhe weather that year was insane. Minnesota had a blizzard, those guys got stuck in a horrific Atlantic storm...
Thank you for another complete episode ❤
RIP to Rick Smith ! What a situation . What a bunch of Badasses and Heroes !!!
They must have been so terrified! Hats off to those brave hero’s. May Rik rest in eternal peace. Wow
Wow what a episode so incredible very emotional
I was so happy to see that group of 3. My goodness. I love everything about the ocean, but I can't swim! It would have been a one and done for me. I would've said "well, it was a good run. Let me make my peace with my makers."
These r the BEST SHOWS EVER!!!! I LOVE THEM!
The difference in attitude and behaviour between ordinary people caught in horrible situations, and professionals who've trained for it and face it every day, is night and day.
The ocean is the last place i would like to get lost! Just terrifying!
thank you! Your rescue was by the grace of God!
This was a truly gripping reenactment! Unbelievably brave heroes, all of them, so sad Rick died!😢 Glad the others survived and Dave was a true hero!
God bless you all! Are you all retired now and congratulations to you and your wife with your child. 😊
My heart breaks for Sgt. Rick and his families. 😢🙏🙏🙏💜
Brave heroes 👏 💪 strong warriors!! Much love and many blessings. #Salute 🫡
I felt like I was suffocating and was dam well tensed up throughout the whole episode. 😫🤦♀️ Had flash backs of when I was drowning. Felt like forever. Sheeesh.
In Mexico, I was doing a little surfing and I got smacked by. I think like at least 10 foot waves. They threw me like I was a piece of paper. The power of water is gentle as it can be something else
Hands down best episode
Omg 😮 so in tense frightened watching it
Awwwe😢so sorry your friend didn't make it
Crying my eyes out ❤️ what an amazing story. Heros 🙏
I don't worry about dying or anything. Jesus is with me.
Oh wow... i am so grateful to GOD... those poor men where saved
Yeah God was suuuuper helpful in that one 😅😅 the relentless 100 foot waves😅 real helpful...oh and Rick died..
~ rest in paradise rick ~ 😔🕯
@@Ifyoudontknownowuknowexactly! God did a terrible job: Caused the storm that made the rescue necessary, made the helicopter crash, seriously injured a couple of the rescuers, tormented them with weather for hours, and killed one leaving a wide and 4 little fatherless children. Nice work, god.
What a heroic story. RIP Sgt Rick
love this show !
Yess!! Full episode 👍
The Perfect Storm
I wish they would have added the story of the sailor they were t to rescue &/or stories of others… make this a 2 or 3 parter.
the special effects in this one
Excellent show.. Bravo
“Hitting the water at 70 ft is like hitting concrete”. We jump off a 70’ cliff every summer near Dorset Ontario. Doesn’t feel like concrete, feels like water.
When you fall not feet or head first it is. Salt water also has higher density, not sure that makes a difference though
try doing that but land sideways it wont feel like water at a certain height it can act like concrete
Being stuck between almost certain death and a high probability of a death and no way out
All rescuers are literally angels...God keep you all
Why is it when we all need something to work properly in the heat of the moment it’s always upside down
Rick went out a true hero, May he rest in paradise.
yes Jim was a very right on guy, say NO when its no. He must have had to contend with guilty feelings too but he need not carry that one. As for the rich among us who take our lives into our hands when we do potentially life threatening adventures...there is where it seems wrong.. Men give their lives for yours. does anyone else see it as ungraciously as I do?
I think they wouldn't have a bad day if they rescued the sailor. More like a lesson. Glad they made it.
1st and only Ocean rescue ive ever seen where SHARKS were a complete non factor 😅
Sharks- "bro we left to Florida 3 days ago...F$&$ that strom
They went on vacation! LMAOOO 💯🤣🤣🤣☠️

*This a Goodie!*
Awwwww, cute story.
The weather is bad....why not stay home? ......
Rip rick
Wow one comment said they were right on edge watching this so was I
Exactly ❤
Terrified of the ocean
"John's chances of survival is 0" I thought that was kind of a funny line to use, considering he's alive and telling his story for this episode.
What happened to guy they tried to save in first place
He was saved by a ship. Only Rick died.
The helicopter must be heavy on fuel
Those are the heroes. I feel like those conditions were obviously too treacherous to even think about. I don’t think risking more people’s lives to save someone who made a mistake and shouldn’t have been out there to begin with is prudent. But no question these guys test the outer limits of boundaries and to some extent you do have to do that… Where to draw the line is the question…??? They were certainly more prepared than the average boater, with wet/warm suits and exceptionally bright waterproof lights, anybody else would have lost their companions in the sea not realizing they were so close. They were able to radio for help and a lot of people I see in these survival videos cannot do that. It’s the difference between a 1 day rescue and weeks at sea, they have been trained, that’s for sure, but lot of simple common sense things saved their lives….
A new episode?? Ohh yea.. 😊😊😊
A new one ❤
What a great episode. These guys went through hell. I was a nervous wreck watching this.
Unforeseen tragedy, or precisely planned karma ? 🤔
What an AMAZING tale of struggle and heroism!!! After crashing in the middle of the ocean and then coming across those Somali pirates who had been blown off course due to that waterspout, teaming up despite the cultural and language differences they manage to persevere and write a musical telling the whole story!!!
So brave
I never want to go in the Atlantic ocean in a boat or a plane nothing
Why wouldn't there be some sort of tether to attach to the raft so it doesn't float off? Seems pretty stupid.
Glory to God God is real🙏
Brave crewman warriors , Bless poor Rick very sad for him and his family . 🦘🇦🇺
You need titanium testicles and nerves of steel to do that job for a living. I hope they're paid exceptionally well for it.
Rip Rick. ❤
They are probably a big reason why helicopters dont go out in storms much anymore. Or at night time even. Very intense episode
Now we need an episode of the stranded sailor's point of view
I have seen people in serious rollovers with bodies, much less mangled than that poor guy slamming into the ocean. I mean, he pretty much got ripped apart almost and still survived 😅
The music is horrendous. Too much noise
Shhhh ..
What happened to the guys they were supposed to rescue???
He got rescued by coast guards on following day
Like this comment for a moment of silence..
R.I.P Rick 🙏❤️
" you can't tell God to turn the weather off " he said. I've been in a dire situation where I should have died
I constantly said " please God help me". I continually repeated this for roughly an hour, but maybe more....and as you can see .... it worked. Never underestimate the power of God's love !!! Believe in him, truly believe in him,not only when death is imminent!!!
Really not trying to be dumb but why did the pilot not go out the back door? Can someone explain to me
So tantalizing having a helicopter overhead but with no way to rescue - could they have thrown an inflatable down to them, maybe
Thought their was only 4 people
