I really stay away from fragrance in facial skincare nowadays. That being said, the old school "green tea" scent that was ubiquitous with any sort of green tea toner or cleanser is one of my absolute favorite scents. So nostalgic!
Agreed, I'm the same with oat or rice products that have that specific scent. So soothing, or orange blossom in hand/body products

Adele used to shade celebrities for releasing perfumes. She said she’d never sell out like that because she’s not in it for the money and she only cares about music. This brand feels very disingenuous
People need to stop supporting celebrity brands! They don't need the money, it furthers economic inequality, and makes it harder for smaller brands.

I don’t think it’s a bad idea for celebrities to have other avenues of income; in fact, it’s smart since their popularity can take a dive an any moment. They can invest in many other ways without even entering the skincare world.
@coya8coy175 Jessica Alba did that when she was still popular (but I felt like a lot of people didn't know she was behind it?). Now her Honest company is a pretty solid business, and I see it in various stores and for various home and beauty and baby areas!
I stopped using dryer sheets in my dryer because I discovered dryer balls and love them. However, dryer sheets are fantastic to put in gym shoes to keep them from stinking, or tuck one inside your suitcase to keep your packed clothes smelling fresh.

As someone who moved from Germany to the UK - HOOOW do you dry your clothes without a drier?? The one year I existed without one my clothes smelled of damp and the house itself was already suffering enough from it‘s own damp, as UK houses do! Treating myself to a good dryer was the greatest gift
Well my house has an attic and my mum hung like clothing lines/wires around the attic so we just hang everything up there, our attic has windows to so the sun can get in and dry the clothes quicker. When it’s the summer we hang our clothes outside! When it’s winter and nothing dries we put our clothes either in the attic or on the radiators since all the rooms in our house have one bc it’s the UK and it’s always cold 🥲

I’m surprised to hear you’re interested in Adele’s line! I’m so past peak celebrity-anything-lines at this point. The exception being that I’d like to hear some reviews of the Pleasing fragrances, and maybe smell them myself. But I’m not at all interested in buying them, particularly at their price point. Tom Ford’s tobacco vanille will be my T&T fragrance forever more and I’m more than ok with that 😊
I actually really loved the scent Closeness from Pleasing! The other ones I wasn’t too keen on, as they were just a bit too strong for me, as I usually go for light fruity florals. Although Closeness is definitely not a fruity floral, it still has a lightness to it that I like. I don’t know how to describe it, other than by saying it kind of smells like a memory on my skin once it dries down. It hit a nostalgic chord in a weird, but pleasant way. I would definitely describe all three of those fragrances as gender neutral

A new Fenty release that’s actually very cool is the Blemish Defeat’r! (I had to look up that name lol) it’s somewhere between skincare and makeup ig. My friend had a gnarly, bumpy and raw skin flareup on her birthday & a Sephora salesperson recommended it- I forgot all about her flareup until she took her makeup off!
We need a comparison video of all lip balms/glosses bc I never know which one to get! And don’t want to spend too much money trying! I love the Naturium love in this vid! and yay to laneige honestly had it by my bedside for the past 2 yrs and a half used every single night! A dream got some berry flavoured one … just love how it just sits there and wake up with lovely hydrated lips in the am :)

The vanilla flavor in the Laneige lip mask is the best one. Dryer sheets for fragrance? Just seems like something else to create waste.
Yup people keep creating new "boujee" products that people don't need. I feel like most will end up in a landfill before anyone even buys them.

Naturium is my absolute favorite lip balm collection. To me they gave perfected the formula and I'm in love.

I love Dedcool-my favorite scent is Taunt and I use their hand wash, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, and air freshener for my cat and in my closet. I actually use the dryer sheets specifically for my bedding. Personally, I don’t find the scent overpowering at all but that could easily vary from person to person. When you don’t use the dryer sheets the detergent really just leaves a hint of fragrance. Highly recommend the brand.

So I learned that the only reason that dryer sheets make your clothes smell good is because they coat your clothes in waxy softener! My 8 year old daughter has such sensitive skin and once I stopped using them and only using 2 tbsp of liquid detergent, she stopped breaking out in ichy rashes as often! I do sometimes miss the good smelly clothes tho loll
I bought the Ouai laundry detergent and dryer sheets and I love it!! Smells soo good and the scent really sticks around without being too much
The pleasing bright hot fragrance sounds so nice! I wish it wasn’t such an expensive thing to be into.
i actually have the summer friday lip butter and i absolutely LOVE it! i use it as a lip product for when i'm outside, they are beautiful and easy to apply. the color i got is a beautiful pigmented brown-ish color too and is nice and moisturizing!

Very tempted by the new Rhode launch the jelly bean flavoured pink shimmer balm, I'm a sucker for a pink shimmer lip balm. Summer Fridays is a no for me, since learning one of the co-founders is a Z***ist.

I just started experiencing rosacea as well, so I’d also love to get more info about what might help my skin a bit happier.
I dont know for sure if he has. But a tip from me (i have rosacea since i was 16 or somth) go to your doctor. They can prescribe you a gel or cream that will help with the redness and reduce the flushing. I have been using one for a few years now and my flushing is extremely reduced and i used to have these inflammation bumps that are really painful and the cream helped with that too!
I never buy celebrity skincare or beauty products and I’m not going to change now.
Exactly my thoughts. I made a pass for celeb fragrance usually because it was more affordable.
Now fenty and harry styles are doing overpriced fragrances 😂 leave that shit to tom ford and creed. You know, brands people trust

I've been debating between vanilla skin and amber haze so I'm so glad i watched
I have to say that I have been using the Laneige lip masks for 6/7yrs now (?) well before they went completely 'viral' .. and I still use and love them. My fav is the 'pink grapefruit' one .. not sure if that's what is actually called because I have run out! So in desperation I bought the caramel apple one, and to be honest, I have to disagree with you James (SHOCK AND HORROR - The Universe will be rocked) .. but I don't really taste anything and it still works like it always does .. AMAZING!! Sorry!!

Experts have been saying that dryer sheets and fabric softeners can actually damage cloths and/or washing machines, so those may be worth a skip…
The thought of trying to dry myself with a towel that has fabric softener in it makes my skin crawl
I'm really into smells lately and I can never find nice 'natural' fragrances, I've never heard of Phlur so I'll definitely be trying them with you and your brothers recommendation
14:40 it can be lee-chee, actually. the cantonese pronunciation is what English borrows from, which is lie-zee. but the mandarin pronouciation is lee-zhi (think zhr for an English speaker). they are more of a subtropical fruit so more widely associated with the south but the south also exports it so it's whatever.
Not sure if they ship to UK but Being Frenshe has some really yummy body sprays (sold in Target).
Of all the lip balms I have tried- laneige gummy bear has the absolute best flavor and texture. Lasts long. But I agree- dislike the stawberry. I also think their balms are better than their lip masks.
You mean the glowy balms vs the ones in the jars? I've used and like the masks but I'm not too fussy about lip balm. I found that helped when my lips are absolutely wrecked cracked and painful but I don't usually need that

So many new lip products! I'll be happy when people get over the lip stuff! I don't wear lip products! They're so popular right now! It was blush and now lips! I want eyes!
Adele's line peaks my interest, when most celebrity brands don't. I could see her doing well maybe going down the route of slightly pricier products (assuming the price will be accurately reflected in how good the product is) compared to other celebrity brands because I think she has a huge audience that is a bit older. I don't wanna say "mature" skincare because that sounds like a bad thing, but just something a bit more luxurious than what other celebrity brands are putting out as well as to target issues more associated with aging. What I have envisioned would fit perfectly into someone like my mom's skincare routine, her products are definitely pricier than mine and she really focuses on anti-aging. She also loves Adele!
I love anti-haul videos. Thanks for this one, James. I'm over new releases. Launch hype gives a lot of products more of a boost than they deserve. The products that deserve praise will still be getting it months from now, and they will have earned it. (Regarding JLo's lip mask - "Beso" is pronounced bay-so, with the emphasis on the first syllable. It's Spanish for "kiss." I seem to recall, when you did your DNA test, that you mentioned your mother was of Latin American heritage. Does she speak any Spanish?)

A lot of American brands are releasing barrier repairing creams and one is a serum. Peach and Lilly just dropped their rescue party serum and moisturizer, DRMTLGY just released a new barrier repair overnight mask, which unfortunately I don’t like at all. Biossance is releasing a squalane and Ectoin barrier repair cream this week as well as drunk elephant releasing a new moisturizer called bora bora barrier repair (I think that’s the name) Biossance and DE drop the 12th & 13th but unfortunately the price is ridiculous 68$ & $69 for something kbeauty would sell for $20
I also would like more on skin care for the body specialy older ones that gravity is sending south

I think it’s interesting how we hold celebrities to a different s tandard of “do they truly have passion for this” than regular brands. I don’t think people are questioning if the CEO for many major brands have a passion for skincare/cosmetics. They are usually old white men that probably don’t even use most of the products.

@pinkbubblesnake Yep, I also think he's truly talented and knows his stuff, so of course I'm going to trust his products or at least feel more confident to buy them as opposed to a random big celebrity. If I'm not mistaken, Kim herself had/has a make-up brand and it's not really doing well lol it's usually crickets about it unless they have their own paid influencers to promote them. So yeah, I'd say I respect great make-up artists themselves releasing products rather than random celebs that may not know much about them in the first place. Rihanna may also be an exception bc she changed the game with foundation shades and inclusivity. But what are these celebs gonna revolutionise now I wonder? A good eyeliner by Adele? Literally drugstore has amazing eyeliners already 😭 Heck, Japanese beauty has amazing mascaras and eyeliners that won't budge through a hurricane. So yk, it does feel like a cash grab bc what are you even bringing to the table now other than ur name hmm sorry for the rant haha x

We don't use them as much in the UK, to be fair I've got one in the apartment and I never really use it 😂 I see no point, it just costs electricity + can damage clothes. Air drying is quite common in most of Europe, never had issues
Yea clothes lines used to be a big thing in Americas past, my grandmother and mother both swore by them… I don’t use one because I don’t have the space to hang things but I would if I could. It’s kind of one of those things that boomers blame the millennials for 😂😂 “millennials killed the clothes line!!”

I disagree, I smelled the Phlur tangerine perfume the other day and it smelled just like the fruit, at least it smells like what they advertise but I didn't even get a hint of anything else. Idk me personally I don't want to smell like a tangerine threw up on me.
I just purchased summer Friday’s lip balm because of the big hype about it and personally I know someone that sells Avon and they have a lip plumper in the same type tube/applicator and the gloss is EXACTLY the same except it has a nice shimmer for under 10.00. I would like to try the ice coffee flavor from summer Fridays but if I can’t get it I doubt I would spend that kind of money again on this lip gloss.
Mint is for toothpaste and mouthwash ,a face mask nooooo.

Candle warmers are usually electric plates that you set your candle holder on & when it’s turned on it warms the candle so it melts. I love them because I’ve had cats that might have messed with a flame. You can find them at craft stores.

I bought a candle warmer (looks like a coffee cup warmer) & put the candle tin on it. Works like wax melts & lets me use my candles without worrying about open flames & soot from the wicks. I no longer burn candles. Some moron in my apartment complex burned down an entire building of 9 apartments because she was burning candles to "eliminate negativity" 🤦♀️
Both pronunciations of lychee are correct. One is the Japanese to English romanization, and the other is the Chinese to English romanization.

My skin is hurting just looking at the Fenty mint clay mask. I can see my face on fire after taking this off. I don’t like my masks to feel like heart beats on my face while wearing it.
