They’ve just started selling their shampoo in stores in the UK so I’m 100% going to check them out! See how different they are to the customisable ones 👀
@@JamesWelsh yeah I feel like if you buy the boosters, it would probably be similar to what they offer online. From what I have heard, they use a base formula for each hair type (straight, wavy, curly, coily) like they do in the stores, then the "personalized" part would be the 2 boosters they offer (scalp detox, deep condition, curl definition, etc) in stores. They recommend up to 2 boosters, that's why I say 2 boosters, but they have like 6-8 different options. So I think if you figured out what boosters they would've done in the online formula, it would be pretty easy to duplicate. Other than not being able to choose color and scent, I think that's the only thing thats really different than the online formula.

I have had so many people call me because bees are attacking them because they are vaping. Its sweet fragrances and smoke confuse the bees even more.
I've done some work on bumblebees (hence the username). Was anyone really surprised that an edible perfume attracted bees? Come on! Another product that attract bees is the soap Honey I Washed The Kids from LUSH, I brought it with me to the Amazon and it was always covered in bees every time I went to take a shower.

Omg I remember edible & weirdly scented things being all the rage back then. Fruit scented highlighters! Those were huge. I was only 10 in 2004 so wasn’t quite interested in makeup etc. until 2007/8 but I do remember all these celebrity perfume adds everywhere & seeing Paris or JLo or Britney I can’t remember saying they always dreamed about coming out with their own ‘scent’. Even as a child/tween I thought it was weird how all these celebs could a) have the same dream to launch a perfume & b) they always referred to it as a ‘scent’ never just perfume or fragrance 🤨 Wow what a trip down memory lane that started 😂 I still love Britney’s Fantasy but hated JLo’s. Hahaha-Function of Beauty over saturated the market with ads to the point of annoyance. The only reason I did NOT buy anything from them was specifically bc I was SoOo sick of hearing them sponsor any and every single content creator and podcast under the sun. Once I started hearing FoB ads in one of my favorite improv-based science fiction serial podcast, that was the last straw- working that ad into that kind of content was a STRETCH and it made me cringe so hard that I vowed never to purchase from them.
@@wendyg.2664 ofcourse! I believe they also have a defrizz booster, but I could be wrong about that. The deep condition one really helps me though, I hope even if FOB doesn't work for you, that you find something that does!
As a beekeeper, I can tell you the bees will be highly confused by shampoo because they can smell the fragrances and chemicals although they hate vapes a lot more!
I love that you called the elf lip balm "the purple flavor" because honestly, nothing that says it tastes like 'grape' actually tastes like a grape...LOL
I remember years ago how badly I wanted the edible body lotions from Jessica Simpson I’m talking 2005-ish I always used to browse ebay to get it but never did in the end. What a throwback!!
I remember wanting to taste it after seeing the photo shoot episode but I don’t think it was ever sold in the UK 🥲
I used to love the Jessica Simpson perfumes 😆
And yes… that includes Dessert Beauty
A lot of them were best sellers!
@@JamesWelsh I still think Fancy Nights is beautiful. Definitely not your average celeb scent
I always wondered if the Jessica Simpson thing was a fever dream. I remember really wanting it when i was a teen and then poof it was gone and no one knew what i was talking about when i brought it up
Omg I remember edible & weirdly scented things being all the rage back then.
And all the chapstick collections! So many sticky oil-lip glosses with fake flowers in them that in no way lasted or moisturised your lips 👄 😝 My school banned them because kids weren’t allowed any joy I guess 😒
The highlighters?!? They had me in a chokehold 😩
I looooved this red pen I used a lot as a kid because it smelled exactly like cinnamon. A few months ago I bought the same pen but was sad that they ditched the nice smell :(
Back in the 80’s I couldn’t get enough of the brand, Prescriptives! When they discontinued their lipstick shade, Fado, I bought three and rationed them like crazy. It was the perfect color red……
All your audio is out of sync! It looks like your video is 10 seconds behind!
Yeah somethings gone wrong actually!
I was just in Target today and saw the function of beauty skin care, and i thought "oh wow, i didnt know they had skincare, it must be new" 😂 I had no idea it had been around for a couple of years.
I loved Dainty doll by Nicola Roberts. As a fair skin girl I always found it hard to get my foundation right (before Fenty came along) with big brand the lightest shade was always a bit dark on my face.
I miss the foundation powder, blushes and their wonder balm which was like Egyptian magic can use it for face and lips.
Dainty Doll (and Nicola Roberts music) was ahead of its time! She had such good taste when it came to beauty and fashion. Glad you’ve found a brand that works for you!
@@JamesWelsh Cinderella's Eyes was a great album, it was my personal ost of the end of 2011 and beginning of 2012. Oh definitely a head of her time with beauty as a redhead myself I admire her vision that it is ok to be pale, it's ok to be a redhead and not caked up like Katie Price wannabe, which was a standard look my peers looked up to when it came to beauty.
I often think of that scene from Newlyweds where Jessica Simpson runs off set to be sick and I remember not much else from that show, so happy to know I'm not the only one 😂
That’s the ONLY scene (and the chicken of the sea) that I remember from Newlyweds
@JamesWelsh the chicken clip is hilarious I can still vividly see it in my head😂😂 her just sitting there quiet, then out of nowhere, "is tuna made of chicken?!" 😂😂😂
I'll never forget "is tuna made of chicken??" 😂😂😂😂 that show was funny
Loooool! I’ll be honest. ‘Chicken of the sea’ confused me too 😂
@@JamesWelsh haha yeah ive been a vegetarian my whole life, and im from Alaska so I've always been confused about that. Where I'm from, halibut and Salmon are the most desired fishes, and I also don't know anyone who eats tuna. So I've never really understood why they call it that🤷♀️ even after watching that show and her getting made fun of for that for years it seemed like, I still don't know why the heck they call it that🤣
I had the perfume, the lotion, the lip gloss, the extensions...and i couldn't even stand Jessica Simpson 😂
😂😂😂 and I had every single and album 🥲
😂😂😂 love it!
Immediately I just need to say how much I love your background!
Thanks so much!! 💜💜
9:13 I totally feel this about customisable skincare. I’ve always struggled with acne, so these quizzes always give me harsh products and ingredients. However what I’ve found from trying different things is actually I need very sensitive, hydrating/moisturising, and non-perfumed products. I’ve spent so much money on acne skincare 🤣
I was invited to the opening of the first Sephora in Canada back in 2004, i think it was, and a Toffee lip gloss from Dessert Beauty was included in our gift bags. BEYOND sweet.
I'm still dreaming about the Jessica Simpson caramel lipgloss and I didn't even know her at that time !!!
😂😂😂
I'd never heard of the perfume one and I'm so sad. I love when bees land on me and stuff 😭 that's my ideal beauty product
Haha I’m pretty sure it was all just sugar water disguised as perfume 😂
just mix some water with strawberry jam and use it as a body spray, I'm sure you'll get loads of buzzy visitors!
I know I’m not alone in this. Surely.
Know Beauty DNA test for skin care, reminds me of a vitamin company that had you send a pee sample to get your "perfecr" formula. Very creepy and highly sus.
I'm Sorry, did you say BELLY BUTTON PERFUME?!?!?!?
I 💜ed the Function of Beauty hair products, but I didn’t get to see & sample their skincare. When a brand communicates “customization” I am immediately curious. Maybe they will make a comeback.
I guessed “copyright infringement”
💗 that you don’t know their names. 😂
The video & voice are not in sync from 8:04 on. Did anyone else have this issue?
Yes, I was confused after looking away and then watching.
I know sorry. I did a little edit on RUclips studio and it’s made it go out of sync. It’s just processing so should be back to normal soon
I'm so happy that you've tried one of my favourite Japanese products! I love the Naturie skin conditioner. You should give their hatomugi skin conditioning gel a try as well.
I LOVE that gel too!!
Not heard any of this even Kroma how interesting tho, thanks James xxx
So the bum bum cream attracts bees also: and so does a few of my colognes/ I have dolce and gabbana, Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Prada, and a few others a few of them attract bees
I spent so much money as a newly 18 year old working at McDonald's on the Jessica Simpson candy flavored lotion it was sticky as hell... But I definitely knew the nature of the product. 😂 And I've tried Function of Beauty for my hair. Didn't like it. 🤷♀️
Great vid as always! I remember trying an extremely strange flavoured powder product from Dessert Beauty.. like who would look at a grainy loose shimmer powder and think, ‘I really want to eat that!’ 😂 ??
didn't care for the body stuff but my sis and I bought her flats and shoes which were really pretty and lasted a long time
Someone else mention her shoes! I had no idea she had shoes too! A real entrepreneur
No way! Am I first?!
You are!!! 💜💜💜
Love Juliette Has A Gun! I started using that fragrance line when KVD stopped making their fragrances.
WAIT WHAAAAT?! KVD made their fragrances?! I had no idea!
@@JamesWelsh KVD had their own fragrance, which they have discontinued. 😢. I found JHAG last year, and love them. This year, I came across Alien Goddess, which is becoming my new favorite. It's my curse for liking scents that are more earthy and spicy.
@@JamesWelshSaint and Sinner were the frags I've encountered years ago. Those were benchwarming a lot of damaged box shops in Jeddah before the pandemic, not my type bit the bottles were interesting at least.Saint was a white bottle with lace embossing while Sinner was the same design only in a black bottle.
Don't come after me, but Jessic Simpson's sweet kisses vanilla cupcake, butterscotch, and vanilla ice cream perfumes/body sprays are my favorite scents. I still have them cause I keep hoping to find the scents again or getting the scents re-made at a perfumery.
Sorry, perfume for belly button?😂
Going back in time. Me, in all of my stinging insect allergy, EpiPen carrying, anaphylaxis having self, thought the Jessica Simpson line was a great idea ..
Any guesses on how it worked out for me?? Smh..😊
Memory Lane...
Hey James have you heard of numbuzin? It’s really weird I keep seeing sponsors/ad videos where they all have like perfect skin and the people say it’s thanks to the numbuzin products but I’m not sure if it’s like an actual thing or what
Heyyyyy. I have yes! They have quite the cult following and have won a few Korean beauty awards. I’ve tried a few of their serums and they’re nice! They sent me a few bits to try and I’m really enjoying it all so far
@@JamesWelshoh okay thank youuu some of their products seem really good so now I’m interested in trying some
Highly recommend you to try Dans tea bras (Editions de parfums Frederic Malle) as really comforting night time perfume!
Ohhhh thanks for the recommendation! I love portrait of a lady!
Was just wondering what video I will watch while eating lunch and this piped up as just uploaded. I prefer my salad over perfume 😂
😂😂😂 your salad probably has more flavour!
Karity went out of business. They had amazing eyeshadow quality 😭
Function of beauty was such a flop for me when it came to the ones that were being “mixed especially for you”. I first used them end of 2019. Caused me insane breakouts on my back and arms where the conditioner and shampoo would run down. I do wash my body AFTER washing the conditioner out my hair but it still managed to beak me out.
The ones you can get from boots don’t seem to do that though 🤔
Didn’t even know that Vanessa Hudgens & some singer had a brand 😂
Brad Pitt too?? 😂
Funny thing, Jessica Simpson's later perfume line is AMAZING. The Fancy perfume is so good I'd marry it.
Jessica Simpson’s Dessert Treats Candy Perfume was my favorite perfume as a child. I’m still searching for the fragrance with a similar scent until now, but I can’t find any. 😆
P.s. I remember how sticky that perfume was.
So then we're not going to address how the sound goes out of sync from 8:04 on? Because I'm old and high and that shit messed me up.
Lool sorry It’s something to do with the upload. Trying to sort it now
@@JamesWelsh Cheers, darling!
Why would you need a belly button perfume? I don't get it. If you want to smell like a dessert just get a dessert smelling perfume?
I cant believe the DNA test one 😂😂😂 what a long ass thing to have to go through for skin care... don't believe it could truly work either 😅
Thanks James sweetie
❤❤❤
I remembered "Dessert" I loved it. I was crushed when my vanilla perfume broke 😢. It smelled absolutely amazing.
Oh yeah i was 12-15 when I was interested in Jessica Simpson stuff
Hey great video! Please can you share where you got the Experiment super saturated serum from? I'm in the UK and would love to try it!
Is it possible to get Experiment here in the UK? My brother lives in the US and I ordered the original serum and mask to his address. It never arrived. Twice?
Jessica Simpson should bring back Dessert for us millennials that make our own money now 😂😂😂
Function of beauty shampoo was rubbish £20 per bottle, did nothing for my hair, better of using kerastase
“The kissable belly button perfume attracted bees”-that is just the oddest sentence I’ve heard in a long time, on so many levels.
Still, to this day, I use the Function of Beauty hair care range. It really works! I wasn’t keen on the skincare products they did though.
I still use Function of Beauty shampoo and conditioner. I didn’t k or they had skin care! Interesting!
The DNA thing is hilarious, it feels like a way to get young people on a database the way 23 and me targets older people 😂😂
I love that J Simpson perfume
