Knox I am always so impressed with your ability to decipher the lyrics and find all the subtle signs. Makes me appreciate the songs so much more. Love it dude!
This album is great, and im super thrilled that LP is back. They did a fantastic job creating music that suits Emily's voice while keeping that recognisable Linkin Park sound. It truly feels like a new era for the band, and theyre rocking it.
I just saw a review of this song that was super salty, said Mike only cares about money and there was no emotion in LP’s sound anymore . And here you are finding joy, creativity and brilliance in the smallest of details. WE SEE THE WORLD AS WE ARE. I love your passion for music!
"Grief can easily stop you from living, and guilt can easily stop you from moving on." Healing takes time and a huge effort. I hope Mike and the rest of the band found peace in their loss.
This whole song feels like a reply to the fans/critics that were stuck thinking they were trying to replace Chester, Mike knew he could never “replace” Chester and would never WANT to replace him BUT he also knew the fans NEEDED LP as an outlet (so many people were able to associate themselves with the pain in the music) he also understood that Chester would never want them to stop helping the fans through the dark times as their music has saved lives I’m sure.
It also feels like it's so full of Chester's energy and ability to capture so much with such simple video. I'll be honest I was scared of how it would go but she's done great at keeping his soul alive in the new music with the band. No one wanted this outcome but it's the best one we have and she's nailing it.
@@meerimew7741 it really feels like something has changed and nothing has changed at all. Weird shit. But the new album feels like Linkin Park so I guess Shinoda is indeed a genius with that pick up
@szpyrk0 that's the point. They evolved, kept the soul and spirit of Chester and OG LP alive but modified to current times. Even popular bands with all their og members have evolved. You HAVE to. There's a teen reacts video that Mike reacts to and even enjoys/ explains it back in 2017 before we lost Chester.
Agreed 💜 Each album LP has always evolved and experimented, but it's always had an undefinable "Linkin Park" feel/energy. So much of it is the chemistry of the band. I was a bit worried up until now, the tracks were great and Emily was excellent, but it didn't have that same vibe. The absence of Chester and even Rob hits heavily. This track has that missing energy. I finally feel like Linkin Park is back with a whole new evolution. And they look and sound like they're having fun again. "We're on the same page" sums in up perfectly 🤘
LP is just doing LP things by finding new inspirations and new influences and forming a completely innovative style as they always did! I admire them so much. So great to see they enjoy their time together helping our cracked souls out ❤️🩹
Mr. Hahn has very much stated this is basically “Two Steps Closer.” Each of their releases building to the drop has had purpose. And you’ve masterfully pointed this out, through each one, perhaps without realizing it.
Mike once said that he and the rest of the OG members ( Joe, Brad, Phoenix ) had a moment where they felt that spark with Emily. The same spark they had with Chester. Knowing that should put all the doubts people have at ease. These guys have more musical talent and musical knowhow in their left pinky toe compared to most people on the planet. If they are sure then that's all we need to know.
I don't know what makes me happier: hearing Mike rap (as an avid fan of Fort Minor's The Rising Tide, I love how he raps), or having Mr. Hanh going ham with scratching records again.
Mr. Hahn's presence being back is definitely a big highlight of the album as a whole. Plus, Emily's vocals fit so well, especially now that we've gotten to see her show off on the album. It all works, and I love it.
There's something about Mr Hahn spinning decks in a suit and tie that cracks me up. Absolute banger of a song though, I've had this on repeat since it came out.
I kept debating if she's moving that intensely or of it was rewound after he noticed the backwards "I can't hear myself think"! But later on it shows her doing the same motion and hair reaction and it legit looks like she's that into it and fast. It isn't a life of its own, it's a weapon she gives energy to and it awakens I think😂
This dude is 47 and raps like hes still 20. Thats some damn good japanese genes! Jokes aside, the album is pretty good - a mixture of any style they did over the years imo What i really like is the point you mentioned w/ One Step Closer bc another similarity would be "stop yelling at me" and "sh*t up when im talking with you". NikNocturnal jokingly called this song "Two Steps Closer" :D Edit: Typos and stuff. Jeez, im early too!
Reminds me of the lyric from The Hunting Party. "Yes, I'm half Anglo, half-fried panko All prime-time rhymer, let the bass bang low" Dude really is a modern musical genius.
@@DJKurohit sounds like nobody's listening and straight off of meteora. If you replaced Emily with chester and told me this was a cut song from meteora I'd believe you.
Emily is also around 40 years old and still has some amazing pipes. I actually think she sounds a lot better now than she did when she was younger with her old band.
The whole album is incredible, especially the closing track "Good Things Go." I love the way Mike says "We're on the same page now." Spoken like a true villain. It's fantastic.
THIS was the statement song they needed. THIS says "WE ARE BACK!" And this band will be forever "two faced" since Chester... before, and after... and this is "caught in the middle"... I LOVE this so so so so much
For me this song has a big, BIG nostalgia vibe from the past LP songs from early 00's. I was in the middle school when I got to hear the band for the first time, and now, years after passing of Chester, may he rest in peace, I am really much enjoying this new, yet somehow good, old Linkin Park with the same love as before, through years. And Emily? More power to her, I love how she's having her fun with the bandmembers, how she is fitting in more and more with the OG boys who stayed. And about lyrical message- 1000% agree on this, their songs were never shallow with the lyrics, with always meaningful message behind, and this one is not different. Thank you for the reaction, Knox, it was amazing one!
The amount of fun they had filming this carries over into the MV. From dance moves to facial expressions. The new Linkin Park is having a blast and I'm so happy for them.
While I am absolutely loving what is LP is doing right now, my favorite thing is how much fun it seems they're having. I think Emily is a perfect fit and they're doing a great job maintaining the LP sound while still moving forward and adapting to what Emily brings to the table. You gotta love the way Mike raps. He's obviously not the best rapper around but he just flows with such ease. I swear this man could rap to the sound of a tractor engine and it would sound nice.

Yeah. You don’t need “the best rapper” if it works well with everyone else’s work in the band. It’s the same thing I say about the Beatles: none of them was the most technically proficient, but all together they worked wonders and musically they knew how to do it and find the perfect spot. And especially when it comes to throwing lines, catching them, transforming them, finding a hook or the right bass line and working off of each other, that’s a skill too many people underestimate. LP always hit because they’re good at collaborating and doing their part right, and everyone’s input always makes their music better. I’m so excited for this new era, man.
I have been waiting for a song like this from them. When I found about Emily becoming their new lead singer/screamer and that her old band was Dead Sara I looked them up. First song I heard was Weatherman. When I listened to that song I knew with so much time that has passed since that song she more than likely should be able scream in the way that perfectly fits Linkin Park and I am not dissatisfied.

Congratulations bro. This is the first reaction video that I actually enjoyed.🤘
Fucking love Emily!!!! She nails it ❤❤❤
Definitely my favorite video off the album. I’ve loved Emily more and more with each song.
Emily giving me Alison mosshart vibes in this. The dance moves , the presence and style.
