    THANK YOU! My old tail watched, listened installed. This was exactly what I needed. I had noticed water seeping into a back hall. Could not figure out why. Finally got on a ladder and the gutter yokels had NOT installed the inside corner. Thanks to this video I am NOT so angry at the installers anymore. EXCEPT, that I am toooo old to be up there doing a job that should have already been done. AND, that had been paid for!

    I would screw high on the walls of the gutter after sandwiching inside corner piece and main gutters to avoid any leaks from screws and obstruction with end of screw. Then cover screw heads with caulk and with spreading the caulk I would put a bead at the seam only because when the caulk gets thin its starts peeling off.

    I would strongly recommend still running the gutters all the way and cutting 45's on them like you would with strip miters. You want as little exposed box miter on the bottom inside the gutter as possible since those things are more less made out of trim coil and are incredibly weak.

    Any chance you could add onto this video? And show how your hidden hangers work? I’m installing my first gutters and of course the hidden hangers don’t really work unless are on top of the drip edge. Which then I guess means that you’re going to have water running behind your gutters and rotting out your facia.

    • @onegutterguy560
      @onegutterguy560  2 года назад +1

      Just dont clip them on the back of the gutter. Slide the gutter under the drip edge then put the hangers on top of the drip. Let me know if this helps or if you have anymore questions

    • @onegutterguy560
      @onegutterguy560  3 года назад +2

      Definitely, first Don't mess with home adviser or Angie's list you will constantly be in bidding wars and doing jobs for bottom dollar. There's really two good routes to go. That's advertising and word of mouth to do all homeowner jobs that you you will get paid the most a ft. But your also doing estimates, the work it self, collecting check, etc. Or mostly subcontractor work with depending on the company your working for makes it alot more simple, but your locked in at a certain rate. Another tip is don't under cut your self, something I did for years until I realized my worth. Shoot me a text if you have any specific questions 605 four two one 9436.

    When field measuring for eave gutter on a hip and valley roof, measure from the inside corner to the outside corner of the fascia and for every outside corner, add The gutter width plus 4 inches for waste. why dose it need to add for waste?

    Looks way better than the hack job they just did on. my new seamless gutter. They did the cut method and I can see caulk and daylight from the outside of the outside of the gutter and a big gap. Looks. Like shit. I told them I’m not happy with that so they will be fixing it somehow

    I'm trying to use this method but it doesn't seem like my gutters fit quite as nice into the box miter as what you've shown. I'm using Amerimax. Could it be that this method doesn't apply to all brands? Not sure if I being too picky on the fit. I'm trying to avoid using the coupling strips that Amerimax sells.

      @@onegutterguy560 no machine. I’m just a DIY’r hanging sectional gutters. Unfortunately that’s the only brand in the Big Box stores in my area. It just doesn’t look like this brand intended on installation as you’ve shown. Oh I got you! Maybe they do that on purpose so you have to buy the extra pieces to attach. Maybe look into having a gutter crew run out the pieces to exact length and have them set them down and leave them for you to install. Just a suggestion.

      Often times I will cut one half inches off the back of the miter sucks in there nice and tight. I also 45 my cuts on my gutters only took me 15 years to finally figure it out

  • @chrisfordyce2150
    @chrisfordyce2150 2 года назад +3

    You shouldn't really need to put any screws in the face or bottom of the gutter. You can just push the box miter up all the way and put a screw in the back of the gutter through both pieces of gutter into the fascia board and then one on the top lip on either side.

    • @onegutterguy560
      @onegutterguy560  2 года назад +1

      That is true and I've done it before that way but this is the way I learned and kinda the standard around where I am. Both ways aren't wrong just different. Thanks for the feedback

  • @stryped-vn6hu

    Shouldn’t the box miter go inside the straight pieces instead of the straight pieces being on top of the miter?
    If the miter is the high point, don’t you want the seam on bottom if that makes sense? Sort of what you do when overlapping tar paper on a roof???

    See we don’t screw the bottom. We install a miter on a section then screw from the back then the top lip face and the middle between that screw and the bottom. By doing that the bottoms line up and we don’t have to add extra screws to be seen. Everyone does it differently but we have less screws shown and both bottoms even.
