Working on it! Sheesh!
Working on it, give me 12 minutes.
Not there yet.
My Raycon ear buds last up to 8 hrs. You are the reason I bought them lol. Thanks
Usually ravines like that get a LOT of water flowing through them. So just something to keep in mind.
I had this thought too was gunna say the same thing.
I was thinking that too.
snoopy9292 hanging targets might be the way to go
Spring/Summer 2020 video title, "MY RANGE WASHED AWAY!".
He did say that this was a very temporary placement of the targets
Okay, you need a zip-line, one with a harness. Then you could zip-line down the ravine, while pew-pewing all the way.
Or he could put targets on a zipline.
Good idea
Dale Selburg nowhere near as fun..
You read my damn mind!
We vote for a zipline
A big down side that you might not of realized is that when it rains a lot. Isn’t that ravine area going to flood and move and destroy a lot of your targets?
i was thinking this as well
Probably wont destroy any of the targets, but good point. Hes going to have to secure those targets really well or hell be constantly having to pick them up. Also, i wouldn't be too concerned with rust... I mean all he does is shoot them😂
Lead runoff into his local water table, if any exists is also a problem.
@@dasupasin Not much lead in bullets these days. Lead encased in a bunch of copper.
Lol exactly, I was saying that from the moment I saw he was messing around with the ravine...literally it's called a ravine for a reason lol
Manually retrievable “zip line” targets stick with your cool cable idea but make it so you can bring them back up to you without having to go trekking through the ravine ever time you want to see them up close. If you can manage to get some machinery down there... dig out or cut out a clean flat spot you could eventually build a shelter or storage for your stuff so you don’t have to haul it back and forth so much... and yes be mindful of the amount of water that will be coming through there. Can make a crazy amount of washout.
It will take a bit, but, with the unique terrain, Matt and friends can make a range to die for....bet he will get some cool visitors this year....after some bulldozer work for access.
Pulley system
If not this year year to come I think it would be cool I he did just like the first guy said
I am seeing a moving target type system in this as well, something moving down a cable, that can be shot at and then pulled back into position for another round. but i am also seeing a GoPro mounted to a BP glass box for a look at you shooting at the target attached to the moving target so we get these cool left to right or vice versa panning shots sliding across your fire path with full guns blazin.
Dont think hes going to be hauling much of anything back and forth. Its on his property and looks pretty inaccessible, most likely juat setting them up and leaving them.
As rugged as that terrain is, it looks like it’s hard to get around there. I’m thinking you should bring in some lumber and build patios and stairs.
Mark Renn yes!
Mark Renn I was thinking the exact same thing.
Like the Yankee Marshall's platform?
I was thinking something like that also.
I was thinking gangways
Build a deck, nice shooting “outpost”
CoolGwip Everyone is forgetting massive flooding damage that will likely occur in that ravine.
Its posible, but maybe theres a way.. just an idea i had as soon as i saw the area
Dude, on this channel it's a
Pew Pew Platform. Geesh
Nooo its pew pew
Matt: I’ve never shot at a range like this
Hickok: am I a joke to you?
Yep, that range is gonna need a gong to be complete 👍
Ya, Matt, are you consulting Hickok? If "no", why the hell not????
Hickok's just goes down a small hill then up and big hill. This is just down a snaking ravine. Totally different.
@@ddevil4980 matt has a bulldozer and a bobcat, he can do what he wants
you should try aftershock bone conducting for when u run can still hear traffic
If you want to use the cable with the hanging targets, I'd put them on pulley's so you can drag them to a place to change them out or paint them.
Also, get a gong.
Or throw a motor on the cable and have moving targets.
Matt: I've never used a range like this before.
Hickok: Am I a joke to you?
Thank you! I was beginning to think I was the only one thinking of Hickok's range.
Hikoks range is on the side of a hill off his front yard which is flat, this is very different
Shooting bench with a roof over it for when the weather turns nasty!
Kinda reminds me of hickok’s range, as in different levels and targets etc. definitely need floating targets and a solid table to stand at etc. looking good tho.
Gary King exactly what I was thinking.
22plinkster also has a similar setup
I really like Hickok 45's Range, it goes up hill, pew, pewing from the base. Don't know if that will work going down hill, but worth a go.
don’t clear off too many of the trees; else you’ll have some quick erosion going on and some landslides. Should probably put some sort of irrigation to keep the high areas kept high.
Targets on a sort of zip line, so they go zooming past you, would be cool.
Self resetting and hanging targets are a must and I recommend staking down any targets that aren’t. A friend has a 200yd range and I personally have a 50yd range that are sloped which is great but when sending heavy pew packages it can be a lot of hiking to set up targets.
Matt: uses earbuds so he can’t hear himself chainsawing
Us: uses earbuds to hear Matt chainsaw
That's me
S
I actually tried to look up how hearing protective the Raydons are after seeing Matt wear them as he worked in one of the mansion episodes.
Rick Sanchez 😆
Taking a page out of Aaron Hayes' book, a "shooting trail" through the ravine would be awesome for 3-Gun training. Clay pigeon stands along the way and barrels for transitioning long guns. Also, your 6.5 needs a longer range option so maybe there's a spot on the property for a 500yd+ target?
Millennial Marksman if his 6.5 needs longer range option, then so do 50% of his guns 😂
been using that kind of ranges a loot in the Swedish army. watch out for the harder stuff down range and short distances, some of the freedom seeds with harder outers will come back at you and if you use seeds with back glow they are even more prone. thx for all the good hours of fun.
Hey Matt, clearing the undergrowth is exactly what you should be doing, it helps the trees to grow stronger and helps to prevent what happened here in Australia ,with all the bushfires 👍❤️🇦🇺
Need to make a lomg range target for the 50 cal!!
Nahh, just pew pew watermelons at 7 yards with it
Yes! Well also for other snipers as well, I think we need to see more long range content. Why have snipers if you're not shooting 150+ yards away?
That's why he beefed up the back porch
Thats what i was thinking. That range looks like its 25 ft straight down
@@twix2756 the .50 Barrett is actually an anti-material rifle, the rifles you are referring to I think would be marksman rifles, "sniper" "snipers" refers to the individual handling the weapon usually a highly trained marksman and not the weapon itself.
A shovel and a bucket buried and filled with concrete. If you want to move it just dig up the bucket. Zip line targets for movement! Call Nick the Reaper for technical info and ideas! He is the Man for long range shooting!
10:05 I love the Alan Jackson Chattahoochee reference! Straight up respect to you Matt!!
Keegan Dahle i had to rewind it 10 seconds cuz i thought that line sounded familiar
Hope you watched to the very end then
Hey matt just wondering about when it rains and all your targets are in a valley and your standing in another valley ...might be a slight issue
I've been thinking pretty much the same thing this whole time.
Exact same thought the whole time
SDOC Farming yep. WhAt I was going to post as well.
Same here, I wonder if it's a flood area
Bridge?
Put a couple of steel targets on a moveable zip line. Then you can have some moving targets to shoot at and you have the perfect “backstop” for it! Good work Matt!
2:58 a chainsaw starting first pull? I have heard rumors about it, but didn’t think it was actually possible
Ahh the magic of editing
@@_tertle3892 or taking care of your stuff. I regularly maintain my chainsaws and they start 1st or second pull after setting for months
Blueline Gaming do you know what a joke is. It did probably start first try but we can still joke it didn’t
@@_tertle3892 I do, I also know alot of people dont take care of their stuff so I was just saying

If you're putting up cables, might as well make moving targets.
Take advantage of the change in elevation and have targets riding cables but are on pully wheels so they can glide down the cable so they are moving targets. Big time fun!
You do realize that ravine will become a raging water path when it rains? You can plant more trees to replace any you cut down. Do that when you landscape up by the house. Cheers
Yeah, what happen there when rains? i don`t think he counted how many trees he cuts, but set up a very nice yard with some new trees seem cool, the kids also can do this for them check out when they grow up, there is a very nice area to put nice trees in that propriety.
He'll have proof he lost all his pewpews in a raining accident?
Matt’s going to singlehandedly cause RUclips to demonetize the words “pew pew” 😂
I wish I could like this more 😂
Ive been thinking that for a while now lol
Words hurt 🙄
You’re going to have to think about flooding damage when setting everything up including the shooting platform area.
I hope during the rainy season it doesnt wash everything away.
If you need to say bullets call them
“freedom seeds” 😂
PUBG Clutch Clips freedom darts
PUBG Clutch Clips yes! 😂
Freedom packages
I like pew packages
Pew packages. Best three words ever.
Good job on cutting during the winter. When it gets warm, all the stuff that will grow. Gonna need some serious brush, not just weed, killer. Spray, spray, spray. Love Texas!
Anybody else remember Matt's idea for Demolita Land? I still want to see that happen. Lol
A roller coaster pew pew range?
This is the prototype
At the old demolitia castle mayb?
A series of gongs would be cool, and have metal targets spray painted different colors for different distances (i.e. 10 feet, 25 feet, 50 feet.. etc. etc.)
You definitely need a skid steer with tracks (aka CTL) to climb up & down and help clear the range, haul the branches and grade/move ground around.
During wet season it will flood because the ravens are from run off.
True...but, there is soil there...usually a rapid flowing wash will have much viable bare rock..no undergrowth either. Time will tell.
Matt you should buy a pair of chaps for when you’re using the saw
.... And a Forestry helmet
Get Forest Gump and give him some crack
THIS
This 100x. Chaps saved my brothers leg when a chain broke a link. Worth every penny.
Jay Lee wah hey good one mate didn’t think of that
I second the zipline idea with you zipping down the ravine and/or steel moving targets zipping across the ravine.
So some people need to understand that thinning the heard helps the others grow stronger....the more trees the more they fight for sunlight and nutrients and that stuff.
that's all scrub wood too. none of those trees are going to be majestic oaks or redwoods.
God made trees for many purposes. One is for firewood.
@@4thegloryofthelord There is no god, only death.
Ok thanos
Gotta clear and keep it thinned out, maybe a controlled burn. They quit doing that in Cali because of environmental zealots and it burns baby burns!
I would be concerned about ricocheting off the rocks.. keep that in mind when placing targets. Safety first 😁👍🏻👍🏻God bless
i was thinking about that when he was talking about shooting up he slope. ricochets "over the bank" can go a long way. had that problem here with a few ranges.
@@a1ibddd I don't have pew pews anymore. My dad taught me when I was young.. but safety first was always my dad's advise. Keep ever 1 safe. Much respect.. 👍🏻😁😁 that's the first thing I was thinking too..
Build a platform to pew off of. Like a deck area. Flat and sturdy. Keeps ya out of the mud while throwing those freedom packages down range.
You should always keep the chain break on when starting a chain saw. That’s extremely dangerous not to mention you don’t have chaps on.
Also it’s recommended to start the Chainsaw in between your legs or on the ground to minimize the movement of the saw when pulling the starter
Making good progress. So Glad you guys are going to be moving into the mansion when it's done. So cool being able to watch the transformation.
A recreation of the old Nintendo Duck Hunt game would be awesome!!
Also, using some wooden platforms staggered at different elevations would make it a lot easier to stage the targets.
I think you should rent or buy a tree chipper it will make clearing so much easier. Not just for the range but for whatever else you want to clear
Hey Matt, do you worry about hitting the rocks behind your targets and getting shrapnel coming back at you? also does that gully flood? would hate to damage your targets.
chris salfrank this guy has shot into an angled metal box INSIDE OF HIS HOME. He does not care 😂

Matts real superpower: Being able to start a chainsaw in one pull....
dropstarting.. great till you do it wrong once and are in the ER.
He must have warmed it up for the shot
Lord Maeryk chainsaw brake and chaps. I learned that the hard way and hope he doesn't
Dude I’ve seen greenhorns who’ve been on for a year using a saw every freaking day not be able to start it and Matt uses a chainsaw like once a month
It's called editing...
Some ideas for the range:
• Create a dedicated safety area for clearing and doing maintenance
on your pew pews
• Create paths that are cleared of rocks, weeds, stumps, etc that will
allow you access to targets, space to run the course, and space to get
to and do maintenance on your targets
• Create a range bag with all the pew pew tools, lube, and replacement
parts
• Create a range medical kit that has everything you would need to
treat things from a boo boo to a gun shot
• Clear all the sticks and twigs that are eye level so no one gets their
eye poked out
• Create a dedicated camp area for pop-up tents, food, water, tools, etc
• Make sure to have a clear driving path out of the range to get to
medical help
•And finally, the most importent, Create a landing zone on relatively
flat ground that is 100-150 feet in diameter for when shit hits the fan
and you need a helicopter to take someone out. Let's just hope you
never need it. But as my dads always says "It's better to have and not
need then need and not have".
Logan Siemer the fact that this is actually very smart and considering he doesn’t have chainsaw chaps on I would say it’s needed
Have a couple Tac Med bleed control kits on site... For, you know.... In case of broken chainsaw blades
and build a hospital. And a full NIMH decontamination facility.
Matt don’t worry about the people who know nothing of tree management . It is good to take out a lot of underbrush and dead limbs. Here in Montana we do this to lessen fire hazard and make healthier forest. When trees are closer there is more chance of fungus that kills trees. Keep up the good work!
First, get a dozer and make it more consistent and a larger shooting alley. Bring in some dirt with you bobcat.
I am a fan of plates, spinners, and poppers. But I don't want to break an ankle resetting them
Exactly!

Find one that’s worth it, and negotiate boundaries. Then make it worth her time to put up with ya.
With all the cedars around the new range, some cedar decks with railings would look nice and give it a more finished look. The bonus side effect would be a nice stable platform to shoot from. If you do some stairs and multiple levels it would also make for more versatile filming opportunities.
Down side:
It depends on which way you're walking but every hill has at least one.

Would love to see you put some energy into working with your brother on his tractor project!
I agree! It seems that would be really meaningful for Mark and Matt!!
U need to do moving targets on the cables. That would be "offa this world"
It wouldn't be difficult...but, some careful planning. I think I know a place that could make the chain for the target...similiar to the ones used on a thrashed/combine...in this case, a worn one would prolly work....chain for a walking floor in a semi trailer
Matt, you should get some ropes and tie them around the base of trees at the top of those steep inclines. That way you can ascend/ descend easier out of those harder to access spots!

Pedro Valle Peace gangster
so waiting for the, my range is washed away, episode later on.
This definitely needs to be looked at so that he doesn't lose it all later on!
Matt, my only concern would be ricochets.
Make a stable platform to shoot from. You could cut the bottom part of those standing targets and drill them into the ground.
Put a fence around the "dangerzone" to prevent anyone from walking in from the wrong side. Make a couple different shooting positions. Laying down, sitting, standing. Maybe you could make multiple shooting directions. Close range, further out,... specific targets in every direction.
Me "hey your chain is on backwards. "
5 seconds later, Also me "nevermind!"
Water, Water runs down hill on this rock. The targets are installed in the waters path
Was thinking about that
Yeah or all the rocks for ricochets ! Scary part !
@@jameslitteken2655 they don't seem like really hard rocks so I think that they will just crumble and the bullets will dig into them
I’m thinking that a nice little cammo shack could come in handy down there?
Maybe with a table/window that you could shoot from? It would probably be handy to leave some tools down there too. Just for when things start growing or something is in the way you could just chop it down if you had an axe there for example. Maybe store some wet weather gear in it?It would save a trip back up to the house👍😊
Bring the skidsteer down and make a flat "staging area"
eegfefrefyugfyuerfeugfegifewgiefewyg8fergfwi 3
The first time there is any heavy rain most of those targets are gone, washed away. Nice spot but not well thought through.
For the cable idea. Make it long enough with a pulley on each end ( like a cloths line), with a system to make it move. Then mount the targets on the cable ( possibly removable so you can change things up) that way you're able to have a moving targets
Get some spare wood from the house and build ya some sections of stairs in there.
Rocks in the backstop..... Yeah im gonna say riccochets.
Probably would just break up, those are a bunch of small rocks. Now, I don’t disagree that he might need a little something, but it shouldn’t be that bad
I was thinking the same thing but at the angle in which hes shooting from it may not be to bad definitely would keep in mind tho
I'd use the trees your taking down to make stairs for easier access for the elevation.
Matt, instead of saying pewing, say “throwing freedom seeds!” Eco friendly and it’s giving back to the earth!! @offtheranch
Freedom seed launchers
Targets in the bottom are gonna get swept away by water when it rains hard
Here's a random idea to throw out there. A 3 gun style course setup but with elevation changes and natural obstacles. Maybe a prone setup, longrange shot from a grassy knoll/ wooded knoll. Lol! And the first thing I thought of when u got the property was a paintball course. Up hill, down hill or bot teams setup to side hill towards each other. Love what your doing Matt. I love the new place but I'm gonna miss seeing your old place as well. I hope your plans include a new man barn. Caves are for cavemen. You need a large barn style place. With a car workshop area including a 4 point car hoist, hangout zone with a fridge, portable and big screen. Also a pew, pew maintenance are with a hundred and bow vice and reloading g station. And of course itd be decked out with awesome american flags and projects sent fro. Viewers. Just a thought brother. Thanks for the content, your by far my favorite channel and creator on RUclips.
Need a flat deck that wraps around the "pew" area with a small toe gaurd towards the business side. That way you can have a table to shoot of off if you want and you don't have to worry about dropping "freedom seed packs" on the ground and have them roll/fall away
That's what I was thinking. Also a rail incase the kids are down there for whatever reason
My favorite channel for sure!
Land to House Yeah this has been my favorite channel since 2016(demo ranch too)
Matt, have a zipline target that will move from left to right (downhill). You could have it on a pulley to release it and reset it without stepping onto the range
Make an enemy "bunker" down in the gulches end.
Moving targets in the cables would be really cool
Cutting bottom branches off, is good because if there was a fire those are the first to catch on fire and cause spreading. We do this on our property.
How do you have any down time? With the house renovation, the corvette build, the bunker, the vet clinic, making demo ranch videos, and the new range. Gotta just be constantly working.
cody mosher it’s easy to do a lot when you love what you do.
All together now! "I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay...." 😆
Hickok has a nice sloped range with targets at various distances. It will be nice to see your new one with targets at various distances and heights.
just wondering if it was calculated in for heavy rain and the potential for the area of the to wash out.
Was just thinking about a future videos that involves the range being underwater
Range Issue: ricochet off rocks. Range Idea: another cable. have one target that when hit releases a target to slide down the cable.
My idea is a solar-powered, cable sliding target using remote control ....
I'd creat burn piles to burn off the branched you've cut down to make clean up easier. I like the idea of floatteing off some of the ground and the floating targets. Another issue I can see is if a wild fire comes through the way the trees are it's just going to go up like a bomb. So do some more trimming all the way from the range to your house. Thin it out, lop off small low having branches and it kinda creates a fire break.
You need those MOVING TARGETS at SHOT SHOW to set up on the cables you mention.
Matt, I'd suggest getting some chainsaw chaps, I know a guy who wishes he did. He's missing a giant chunk of flesh out of his leg.
@Right Round sometimes no matter how safe you think you're being, accidents happen. Better safe, than sorry. That whole "it won't happen to me" attitude gets a lot of people seriously injured or killed.
I dont have any of those pants but i always take a break when i feel like I'm getting tired. Seems like thats when a lot of chainsaw accidents happen.
@Right Round there is no "blade". Kickbacks happen. Wear chaps
He’s lucky to be alive
Especially in that terrain
Multiple areas to shoot and at different angles Looks like it's gonna be pretty awesome
You have to have a “running man” a human silhouette that runs down a cable. Like a zip line.
Best idea I've ever heard!!!!
When you are studying and matt uploads a vid. Leave every thing and watch.
This is basically my gcse year
What do you think im doing lel
wow i felt that
Something to consider would be to plant some natural grasses to help stabilize the soil and encourage water absorption for when it rains. The plus side is the replenishment of the groundwater which will encourage tree growth and also draw in more wildlife. As well, the cedars are actually not native to the area so supplanting them with native trees will also help with water retention and in the long run wildfire prevention. Just a thought.
10:00 for a second i thought he was gonna start rapping
Dude fr lol
REALLY cool rage! I would cover the rocks with sand, rock as a backstop is a bad idea.
Meh, not as bad as you might think. They tend to break on impact, and the bullet usually fragments into the dirt
