The Weapon Collection What I do to approximate from yards to meter is: Substract a 1/9 (a ninth) of the yard. 10 yards is roughly 9.1 m. 20 yards in m = Double 10 yards = 18.2. Or 20-(2/9). 900 yards is easily approximated since a ninth of 900 is 100. Result: 800 m.
This reminds me of the time my step brother told me he could hit a dime at 100 yards open site with a .22. We were at the public range. I doubted him and he proved me wrong. I still have that dime and that was almost 20yrs ago. This video brought back some good memories.
i love bull pups and when Matt was describing his, i was literally like: "keep talking dirty to me". that gun is the embodiment of everything i would want in a rifle.
Animal Kings fuck whataburger, im much prefer weinerschnitzel. Aint had one of those chili cheese hotdogs of pure heavenly goodness since i moved out of texas 20 years ago. I miss them more than anything.
"The action is behind the trigger which makes for a very short package." That will be my GOTO phrase from now on...when the girls laugh at my 'package.'

His hearing is already damaged was the joke. I had a .50 fired 6 feet from me while I was forward of the firing line without earpro in before I was even out of basic. I've also had a 7.62 fired 8 inches from my head while I was asleep, that woke my ass up I tell you whut.

sweet jesus, i know it's a long time ago, but gosh, i come back to this video now (watched it twice when it came out as well) and HOLY, i love the long shots part. Makes me feel like i'm at the range with the instructor telling me some tips about how to focus on that target and stuff. I just love it. Keep up the awesome work Matt you are just great to watch. 5sorry for my poor english, it ain't my native language)
You have some of the coolest friends. One thing I personally love about watching your vids is the memories I have visiting my grandfathers ranch in Manvil Texas. Its not so much the shooting as its in Texas (I love the shooting though even if my arthritis doesnt allow me to shoot any more). Hmm idea for a vid? Guns that can be shot by those with arthritis or weak hands. That would be much appriciated from those of us that love to shoot but are hindered in some way.
mount scope to rifle, tightly secure rifle in a rest, set paper target at your desired zero range, aim at the bullseye, fire, adjust scope so that your reticle is centered on the bullet hole in the paper, take aim at bullseye again and fire to confirm your sighted in
Persian Gulf 1990 We were located in the middle of a town that was under construction before the war. We went to take it over so we’d be able to view enemies ahead of time before we made contact with them while we were waiting for support company, and Motor-T to bring in some reinforcements. I’m not gonna name any specific locations, but I placed myself on a crane with a M40A1, and as I finally got on top a sandstorm started laying in deep. Took out two little birds, and a couple of our vehicles couldn’t be used due to the low visibility. Fast forward 1 1/2 hours into the storm I made a 1100 yard shot against a enemy insurgent sniper. Anyways that’s how I spent my weekend on Battlefield 4.
Moon dust.....we called it that since the early 90's at Ft Irwin, the US Army's National Training Center in the US. Without a doubt it's been called that for along time before the 90's.

Definitely check out Sawmill Tactical Training complex for some more long distance shooting! This past weekend we had 4 out of 5 people hit targets at 1368 yards. Also the staff and instructors are awesome. If you’re interested, ask for Scott or Steve

I know right,it was like 4or 5 seconds traveling through the air wow.
Do more collabs with him, he's such a humble and nice guy. Awesome friend to shoot with!
Mister R Yeah and the war stories on his channel that he features are worth a watch
I've just found about him on this video, but I will check him out on his channel too.
@retty lyfe Lunkerstv.
Mister R how can you say that he's such a nice guy when you never even met him?
My longest shot was around 6 yards
Target: my friend's head
Weapon used: an eraser
rubber
U are one lethal S.O.B
That's a far shot
I don’t know why this made me laugh so hard
You should apply for sniper training.
Sounds promising already
-spider crawls under Matt's shirt-
"It's ok, he's a vet"
Matt: "How does that make it ok??"
Time stamp?

I think it’s funny how he has a 308 and shoots it at insane distances and has a 50 cal and shoots it at a close distance
Mason Cantu 50 cals are not as accurate at long distances
50bmg isn't a good precision rifle round, it was developed to be pumped out of high fire rate machine guns
Xavier Rodriguez and it is REALLY heavy. I wouldnt doubt it drops a foot and a half under 500 yards
that caliber was made to penetrate not for long range, there are better claibers like 338, 408, 416...
Kevin Leban isn't the .338 Lapur superior to the .300 WM? I never hear about the .338 anymore...
More long range videos please!
yes reach out with the big gun !!!!
Yes!!!!!!
Texas Plinking
I loved the little smug grin on robs face after he shot the penny, like he's just thinking "Yeah this is what i do"

Okay that’s impressive with .22
Thats fucking awesome!!
the sound of the round traveling through the air on that 700 yard was nuts sounded like a rocket going down range lol btw Nice shot Mat
Is it possible to shoot the trigger of a gun, causing it to shoot?
Good question! Would like to see that
***** It would make a great video. Especially if it were possible.
are you talking about that cop in the film kopps who threw 2 pistols on the trees and shot the triggers with pistols? 😂
_A Z_ I would love to see something like that
+116474226251110410415 No, but I understand what you mean. That was funny

Lisa Tarantino damn. Matt needs to learn from you
Lisa Tarantino that's still very impressive

Andre McGoo the rifles in boot camp were so clapped out. I was in boot camp in 81 😂 we were shooting Vietnam era rifles

@@davidjay433racingYou mean the M16?
You guys are having so much fun, its infectious. Hard to find people with a default smile on their face nowadays.
Best part of this video is the 44oz Whataburger cup on the shooting table. 90% sure It has Dr. Pepper, 10% sweet tea.
Matt Hamilton dr.pepper and tea taste good who would have thought
Patrick Martin Need to try it then
Matt Hamilton only Texans and very few outsiders know the beauty of Whataburger. ITS TO DIE FOR
Animal Kings NC knows. Bet u guys don't have the witch doctor drink do you?

Still a lot of exercise.
"And its battery powered"
for fucks sake.
You still have to pedal it lol, it's not a full electric bike, it's both, kinda like a hybrid
Kakyoin Noriaki Never knew that.
Kakyoin Noriaki well it depends of what he has his pedal assistant on
the highest requires no pedaling

I've met some real knuckleheads, but I feel like the vast majority of gun owners are respectful and safe.
@@privatecitizen5264 That is completely valid. I guess I mean a lot of guns don't have owners, just people to shoot them.

I thought it was closer to $1060 range.
Hey Matt can you please do a video on how to sight in a scope? that would be much appreciated!
Yeah, I was wondering how too.
mount scope to rifle, tightly secure rifle in a rest, set paper target at your desired zero range, aim at the bullseye, fire, adjust scope so that your reticle is centered on the bullet hole in the paper, take aim at bullseye again and fire to confirm your sighted in
