The Weapon Collection What I do to approximate from yards to meter is: Substract a 1/9 (a ninth) of the yard. 10 yards is roughly 9.1 m. 20 yards in m = Double 10 yards = 18.2. Or 20-(2/9). 900 yards is easily approximated since a ninth of 900 is 100. Result: 800 m.

Animal Kings fuck whataburger, im much prefer weinerschnitzel. Aint had one of those chili cheese hotdogs of pure heavenly goodness since i moved out of texas 20 years ago. I miss them more than anything.
This reminds me of the time my step brother told me he could hit a dime at 100 yards open site with a .22. We were at the public range. I doubted him and he proved me wrong. I still have that dime and that was almost 20yrs ago. This video brought back some good memories.
mount scope to rifle, tightly secure rifle in a rest, set paper target at your desired zero range, aim at the bullseye, fire, adjust scope so that your reticle is centered on the bullet hole in the paper, take aim at bullseye again and fire to confirm your sighted in
i love bull pups and when Matt was describing his, i was literally like: "keep talking dirty to me". that gun is the embodiment of everything i would want in a rifle.
"The action is behind the trigger which makes for a very short package." That will be my GOTO phrase from now on...when the girls laugh at my 'package.'
"You need to repaint your targets, put new paper up.." Cool, so a lot of exercise. "That's why I have a bike Still a lot of exercise. "And its battery powered" for fucks sake.
You have some of the coolest friends. One thing I personally love about watching your vids is the memories I have visiting my grandfathers ranch in Manvil Texas. Its not so much the shooting as its in Texas (I love the shooting though even if my arthritis doesnt allow me to shoot any more). Hmm idea for a vid? Guns that can be shot by those with arthritis or weak hands. That would be much appriciated from those of us that love to shoot but are hindered in some way.
His hearing is already damaged was the joke. I had a .50 fired 6 feet from me while I was forward of the firing line without earpro in before I was even out of basic. I've also had a 7.62 fired 8 inches from my head while I was asleep, that woke my ass up I tell you whut.
Persian Gulf 1990 We were located in the middle of a town that was under construction before the war. We went to take it over so we’d be able to view enemies ahead of time before we made contact with them while we were waiting for support company, and Motor-T to bring in some reinforcements. I’m not gonna name any specific locations, but I placed myself on a crane with a M40A1, and as I finally got on top a sandstorm started laying in deep. Took out two little birds, and a couple of our vehicles couldn’t be used due to the low visibility. Fast forward 1 1/2 hours into the storm I made a 1100 yard shot against a enemy insurgent sniper. Anyways that’s how I spent my weekend on Battlefield 4.
30-06 TC Compass loaded with RL-19 and ELDX 212 is supersonic at 1200 yrds, and shoots a ~3/8 MOA group which is reasonable for long distance competition, and the terminal ballistics of the ELDX 212 is excellent for big game hunting, but the low cost and availability of cartridges and components makes it a good choice for just plinking and target practice.
sweet jesus, i know it's a long time ago, but gosh, i come back to this video now (watched it twice when it came out as well) and HOLY, i love the long shots part. Makes me feel like i'm at the range with the instructor telling me some tips about how to focus on that target and stuff. I just love it. Keep up the awesome work Matt you are just great to watch. 5sorry for my poor english, it ain't my native language)
I've been watching your vids for about a year now and i love 'em but i'm german so i'm pretty sure i'm on some kind of watch list by now for watching gun vids and browsing gun companys sites out of curiosity :D
the 50 bmg is an anti materiel rifle, which means its shooting at trucks and stuff; because it shoots at large targets, its not that accurate (although I'm sure it has farther range and stuff)
Nick Ranstad owns the US Army killshot record distance at 1.3 miles. Corporal Rob Furlong owned the overall record at 2,650 yards (1.506 miles) with a .50bmg until Craig Harrison beat it with a .338 Lapua at 2,707 yards (1.54 miles). Fun fact, the current record includes 2 kills at that range in the same engagement. None of it luck. Was a very good shooter and very competent spotter.
To those claiming that the .50 BMG wasn't designed as a sniper rifle cartridge and isn't as accurate at long range as .308, please explain why the .50 BMG has set more records than .308 with numerous kill shots well past the mile mark. Im not saying its the best sniper round but come on, educate yourselves. Carlos Hathcock even used an actual M2 machinegun modified with a scope in Beirut to reach out further than he could accurately engage snipers with an issued 7.62×51 mm sniper rifle.
Moon dust.....we called it that since the early 90's at Ft Irwin, the US Army's National Training Center in the US. Without a doubt it's been called that for along time before the 90's.
I'd remember they only shoot good to couple yards to make some damage and they do not fly straight at all, that is why it should be kept relatively close to the material. Horrible balance and no spin = short flight
Cool video. One fun thing we figured out is .22s suppressed at night at about 25 yards. In warm weather, set up a white sheet over your target stand, illuminate with a big ole light. Wait for the bugs. You know the rest. And you can totally tell Mere.
Savage. Yeah. My understanding is that it's kind of expected that your scope will cost more than the gun does for long range shooting. This is simply a very expensive rifle topped off with an average scope.
xeus2eme Well, maybe not "average". What I mean is that the long range shooting community has ridiculously high standards when it comes to that type of thing

Do more collabs with him, he's such a humble and nice guy. Awesome friend to shoot with!
Mister R Yeah and the war stories on his channel that he features are worth a watch
I've just found about him on this video, but I will check him out on his channel too.
@retty lyfe Lunkerstv.
Mister R how can you say that he's such a nice guy when you never even met him?
My longest shot was around 6 yards
Target: my friend's head
Weapon used: an eraser

U are one lethal S.O.B
That's a far shot
I don’t know why this made me laugh so hard
You should apply for sniper training.
Sounds promising already

"It's ok, he's a vet"
Matt: "How does that make it ok??"
Time stamp?
5:52
I think it’s funny how he has a 308 and shoots it at insane distances and has a 50 cal and shoots it at a close distance
Mason Cantu 50 cals are not as accurate at long distances
50bmg isn't a good precision rifle round, it was developed to be pumped out of high fire rate machine guns
Xavier Rodriguez and it is REALLY heavy. I wouldnt doubt it drops a foot and a half under 500 yards
that caliber was made to penetrate not for long range, there are better claibers like 338, 408, 416...
Kevin Leban isn't the .338 Lapur superior to the .300 WM? I never hear about the .338 anymore...
I loved the little smug grin on robs face after he shot the penny, like he's just thinking "Yeah this is what i do"
More long range videos please!
yes reach out with the big gun !!!!
Yes!!!!!!

the sound of the round traveling through the air on that 700 yard was nuts sounded like a rocket going down range lol btw Nice shot Mat
Is it possible to shoot the trigger of a gun, causing it to shoot?
Good question! Would like to see that
***** It would make a great video. Especially if it were possible.
are you talking about that cop in the film kopps who threw 2 pistols on the trees and shot the triggers with pistols? 😂

My longest shot is 21 yards with a nerf gun
Lisa Tarantino not mine it's about 60 yds with a.22
impressive
Lisa Tarantino damn. Matt needs to learn from you
Lisa Tarantino that's still very impressive
My longest was 6 feet with a slingshot
We shot 500 yds in boot camp with steel sites. Gotta love the long distance stuff. Well done.
Andre McGoo the rifles in boot camp were so clapped out. I was in boot camp in 81 😂 we were shooting Vietnam era rifles
... still do lol you have to twist them to take all the wobble out hahahaha!
@@davidjay433racingYou mean the M16?
Awesome guns and awesome shooting fellas! I love how all the LunkersTV fans spotted his arm at the end of the OffTheRanch vid yesterday.

I've met some real knuckleheads, but I feel like the vast majority of gun owners are respectful and safe.
@@privatecitizen5264 That is completely valid. I guess I mean a lot of guns don't have owners, just people to shoot them.

Yeah, I was wondering how too.
mount scope to rifle, tightly secure rifle in a rest, set paper target at your desired zero range, aim at the bullseye, fire, adjust scope so that your reticle is centered on the bullet hole in the paper, take aim at bullseye again and fire to confirm your sighted in
