    Chinese have the similar claypot rice, which produces the crispy rice too!

    Come on Dan. You’ve had clay pot rice and you knew crispy rice will form in that stoned pot bibimbop. Love your videos and will continue watching but don’t play yourself down. We watch because you are genuine.

    Yeah.
    That's one of those best kept secrets
    The fruit that goes to supermarkets in wealthy areas is among the best quality. Of course it costs much more
    The fruit that goes to supermarkets in working man or poor areas is very low quality and costs less
    So it's rich people's fruit or what David Letterman used to call the "good fruit" on his show.
    You obviously had the good fruit and it was very expensive in a club
    You always get what you pay for

    Korean restaurant and you have Gen Tso's chicken?? Correct me if wrong but isn't that considered a Chinese dish? I've had it many times and the spicy hotter is best for me. Gen "Cho" chicken appears to be prepared in the traditional way.

    I'm half Korean and we've never had bibim bap with a raw egg on it.
    I don't know why that restaurant is doing that.
    Kinda odd.
    Generally it has sunny side up egg served on it.
    We like our egg over medium and like one bowl with with two eggs!
    Also a touch of sesame oil along with the pepper paste if it's unseasoned.
    Raw egg isn't always for beginners, poor Danny he got
    no warning.

      I think there are different versions - perhaps it's the region? I've been to LA's Koreatown, and at least one place serves it with a raw egg on top.

    • @1takesituation
      @1takesituation Год назад

      Raw egg in hot clay pot bibimbap is normal, and sometimes expected in traditional Korean cuisine. Non-clay pot version is usually served with sunny side up egg.

    Kimchi the Korean expert has never had the chicken? It looks just like Korean Fried chicken which has been very trendy the past couple of years. Of course Danny would never order a bimbimbap, it normally is full of vegetables and the going price is around $22, and that includes the meat! No $2 surcharge for meat like at Koreaboo. Still, there is normally 4X more vegetables than meat. No bimbimbap would ever be a 9 or 10 for Danny with the amount of vegetables that they put in there! If you ever go back to a Korean restaurant, skip the bimbimbap. I would feel silly eating a $22 bimbimbap when there are several AYCE Korean BBQ's for the same price! I don't about Kimchi...I think Tung would be more of a Korean food expert. Danny, you've never had a clay pot rice (Bao zi fan)? It is cooked in a pot with rice that is cooked the same way and mixed with soy sauce. I think it is better than a bimbimbap. Much more meat!

    • @queenmonkeyhead
      @queenmonkeyhead Год назад +1

      just want to add more infor. bibimbap is all the leftover and whatever you got in refri that you mix all together with favorite dressing. Hotpot is a fancy way at the restaurant to change you more for burn rice.

    • @dannythemedic

      I have had chinese clay pot rice once or twice in my life. I never liked it... out of those I would scoop and eat the soft rice, and I would not get the hard clumps.... at home, my mom would make rice on a stove and on the bottom it would also be dry, but she would add water and make FON JEEW... I never eat hard dry rice... especially nowadays with my molars not as good as they used to be, but thanks for watching!

    • @queenmonkeyhead
      @queenmonkeyhead Год назад

      @@dannythemedic For me I mixed the rice right way after serving. You get crispy rice not hard rice sticking at the side. Like you mention add some tea water later and baked rice will turn into rice cracker. LOL
