You reached 20.000 Subs not for your marketing skills but because you are a good soul and you shine thru on your conversations. There are many of us who see life just like you....Keep it up.
The spacious scenery, the depth and width of the discussions, The sound of the wind and of Capone's feet crunching thru the sand. There and so many reasons why I look forward to each episode ... Pressed, I would have to say that the central attraction is The totally abandoned laugh of one who knows how To be ALIVE and AWAKE. Roll on, Carolyn!
This is a very helpful video for a single woman with a dog, thanks. Even though its a few years old its so much better than a lot of stuff I've watched that's generalized with no actual stories. You rock.
I love watching all of your videos on RUclips. I feel inspired in every time watch them. At least to my knowledge, you're honestly sharing us your real life experiences. You open the door and allow people to step in and learn. I do feel like listening to the conversations of my best friend! Have a fantastic day! Cheers Thanks!
You're living what I had planned for retirement but things just haven't worked out that way. Health problems for my wife and family responsibilities shut it down. So now I'll live that life vicariously through your travels. Thank you very much for your videos.
Paul, I am so sorry to hear that your plans didn't work out.. That is exactly why I chose to do this NOW. there are no guarantees i life.. I wish you happiness in peace in your life my friend!!
my new goal is to sit on a rock in the middle of the wilderness for hours miles and MILES away from people. that is the very definition of heaven for me. love your channel, Carolyn. :)
you have 20k followers because you are an excellent speaker and educator. I am going full time as soon as I can sell my house. I lost my wife last year while building our new home. When she died I bought a class A 1995. I used it last summer and loved it. I'm going full time. I'm retired and an artist so I'm going to take my art on the road. I have an income enough to pay the bills and live ..... so go for it ..... I'm only 65, thank you for your posts, I love listening to you talk.
awww... Bob what a kind comment, thank you. Yay.. hope the house sell soon! GL. I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your wife, that is very sad. I'm glad your here! - C
Carolyn I wanted to tell you that I really appreciate your candor and your kind heart. I am planning to make this my life in the year coming and you remind me often of why I am making this choice. Well done kind lady :D
20,000 because of true experience and you're not big headed, you're kind and sweet Very down to earth. We love you Carolyn keep up the great videos and stories
Jose, that is so kind of you to say.. I love this community we are building... so awesome! THank you very much for being here and being part of my adventure!! Yay. :-)
my guess, as of this writing, is that you may have well exeeded your 20k+ subscribers. i've just subscribed. I love how informative, educational, & personable you are! You are a genuine & caring person & i really appreciate that about you.
I'm a Canadian housewife living in a very populated suburb. I live vicariously through you! We camp in a park model RV during the summer in a fairly remote northern area and love it so I understand the desire for freedom and nature! Be safe, you're braver than I am for sure😊
Carolyn, you are a pleasure to watch and listen to. You know your topics, and if you are not sure, you say so and find out. I have enjoyed getting to know you and Capone and hope to meet you guys one day! That is a beautiful place to camp too.
Still have a hard time watching these Capone videos. I loss my dog 3 yrs almost to the date after you loss Capone. It's been a year for me now and it's still really painful. I enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for continuing to share your journey with us.
Carolyn, Thank you so much for another great Video. Makes my day to get notifications that you have a new blog post or video. To Carolyn's subscribers, I just want you to know that Carolyn is as sweet and real in person as she is on her videos. Her light shines as bright as anyone. Arland
I didn't read through all the previous comments, so forgive me it I'm repeating anything, but... I have no trouble believing your marketing skills were put to good use recruiting 20,000+ subscribers, but don't sell yourself short. You're smart, charming, engaging, refreshingly real and more than just a little bit brave... qualities that many - myself included - find irresistible.. Well done you :)
Dirty Rotten - you are very kind. thank you.. I am glad you're here and appreciate your compliments and encouragement. It means a lot! Take care and ty for being here ! - C
Hi Carolyn and Capone.. I have to disagree with you on why you have so many followers.. You have all these followers cause you just have a great personality!
I think it goes beyond your marketing skills. Your down to earth nature and honesty is very authentic. There is no fluff or pretentiousness. What we see is the real deal. I absolutely agree with the boondocking lifestyle over parks where you are crammed in like sardines. When we take off that is how we want to live. Showers are overrated! :) Carolyn, I would like to know your process for finding a good, free campsite like this one.....love it!
Thank you Elaine, that's very sweet of youto say! I agree showers are wayyy over rated. When I hiked the JMT the plan was to go a full 30 days without a shower.. I made it 18.. on my 3rd resupply point, I paid $14 for a 10 minute shower.. so they ARE overrated to a point. LOL ty for making me chuckle! - C
I will be living in my Mazda Bongo converted van full time in the near future (reasons I may explain later), but here in the UK (a country that fits in the state of Texas ! haha), presents its challenges... Your videos give me confidence and my dog Lilly always looks at Capone with her head tilted on my PC screen !!??? hahah must be love haha... All the best and keep up the great videos, and keep safe. x
Hi Carolyn ! I just started watching your videos and enjoy them very much ! I'm fixing up a mini van to start traveling next year ! I drove trucks for 40 years but never had time to stop and see places ! Learning a lot from you and Caravan Carolyn and a few others ! You have a great way of expressing things, especially the bear story ! Enjoy your day !
I am just one of those subscribers, but I can tell you that I subscribed because of your candid honesty. I am in the process of going fulltime and when I saw your video on how to stay warm I also saw how much you enjoy helping people. I knew I could learn xrom you...then when you did a video that mentioned the land of misfit toys , and that just sent it home for me..I hope one day to meet in our adventures.
Lori - reading that you connect with what I do and .. really what I am (misfit toys vid) makes me so happy. I am so glad you're here! thank you for watching and leaving your thoughts! - Carolyn
I fully understand the shower aspect, yet, it is nice to indulge with it. I have learned long time ago and especially camping these past years with motorcycle/sidecar only to take 1.5G showers. I have some storage space and 2 x 2.5G sun showers which I fill when I get water. So there you can have 3 showers throughout your 2 weeks boon-docking. Just a sharing thought.
I'll be traveling out of Alaska next year with my two large fur beasts who are idiots about moose and bear and love to chase the wildlife. Have had too many scary encounters where I thought they were goners. So, they are now confined to fenced in places for their running exercise and leashes on our walks. I don't fear the wildlife myself but would be devastated if one of my pups got eaten or hurt. Thanks again for another great video, Carolyn! You're an inspiration!
Congratulations on your 20,000 + subscribers. You are so interesting to follow and know this number will continue to climb. Thank you for all the hard work you do for all of us. I am sure enjoying hearing about your journey. I am also a animal lover especially dogs so Capone is a star to me also. I told my husband all about you and Capone. I told him both of you are very special. I will be buying your book..
A suggestion. For showering buy a solar shower. They are simply a black plastic bag type water carrier that you leave in the sun. They hold about 5-6 gallons. Down south you would get nice hot water for zero energy input without using any water from your tank if you fill the solar shower when you fill your water tanks. A solar shower costs under $20.
I ran across your utube channel by accident but have subscribed and spent way too much time watching your videos. I feel like I am having a conversation with a dear friend. Your straight forward style endears us to you. Plus you are full of useful information for any RVer, even those of us who are not full time. I just wanted to let you know hoow much I appreciate you. Thank you. Stay healthy and happy.
Shari, there' s no such thing as "spending too much time" watching my videos.. lol. .I'm honored that you find them so engaging, interesting - and even helpful!! thank you!!! I'm glad you're here, thank you for subscribing!! :-)
Thank you for your candour, your insite, kindness and humor, I've learned so much from your videos, my plan is in place for the RTR this year and then my gypsy spirit is on the road. Many Blessings in your ventures. Debbie
You are surely an expert marketer and you're sort of the female counterpart to Bob Wells. That ain't such a bad thing. We love Bob and we love you too. Congrats on 20k + subs. Well deserved :-)
I am retired person. I have a class c, I RV part time, I would like to Boondock more often. The biggest obstrical for me is getting fresh water, How and where do you fill your fresh water tank ...when boondocking?
Good luck Carolyn! I follow your vids. Refreshing for a guy who is wondering how to change his life after some relationship and work challenges. Simple is (most of the time) good! Happy New Year!
Why do you have so many subscribers? Because you put out a lot of videos. You are very personable and have a nice speaking voice. You talk to us, not down to us. You’re an inspiration to all of us who want to be out there. All the best on your book sales. Jon
Hi C, 1) Solid info on Black Bears. Just KEEP in mind, "Momma" is a small GRIZZLY when it comes to cubs. 2) Thank You for being a responsible pet owner. Coyotes are vicious predators who kill and eat thousands of dogs and cats annually. That leash IS the lifeline - use it! 3) Wishing you and everyone a healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year!!! ~~God Bless America~~
TheOregonOutlaw I didn't know coyotes kill house pets-that is pretty scary! I am in the suburbs of Chicago-literally one block from the Chicago limits, and in the past year we have seen three different coyotes in the area-one just last week on a golf course near my house! I have lived here nearly all my life, and this is new. It was even reported on the news how people are sighting coyotes all over the area. I wonder if there are just too many houses that were build further out and they don't have enough natural habitat left or if they are attracted by all the garbage generated by area restaurants and grocery stores.
For millennium, coyotes followed the Lake Michigan shores in their never ending search for easy meals. I've hunted them IN Chicago's city limits along the Cal Channel - and found them. South of Crete was another Hot Spot, as is Arlington Heights and north. Not sure where you are, however if near a forest preserve or other lightly populated areas are all subject to at least passing pairs if not small packs. Seldom do they travel along - always watch out for the ones you CAN NOT see. ~HappY New Year
TheOregonOutlaw Holy Cow!! I never knew that!! So they are indigenous to this area??? Wow-I why no one knows that. Yes, I am right by a fairly sizable forest preserve. We have seen deer there-in fact, they actually wandered over by our house for some native tall grass preserve-which is scarily right next to a highway! It is scary to see this mix of human civilization and these beautiful animals-no one wants to see them hurt but that is what happens when they dart in front of a car. I will never forget late on night about a block from my house I was driving home and suddenly a fox trotted out in front of my car with all her little kits in a row behind her. I had never seen a fox in the wild either, but I knew right away what it was!
Coyotes are not vicious predators…they are simply predators. They are amazingly adaptive and quietly live in many cities, suburban areas and obviously in rural areas. It is not hard to coexist with coyotes, if we take common sense, basic precautions. They are opportunistic feeders…when they find the chance to eat easy prey/food, they often take it. Unfortunately, sometimes that means that coyotes will see outdoor cats or dogs as potential prey. This means that we, as a responsible pet owners, need to take responsibility to keep our pets safe. Some suggestions on who existing with our wild coyote neighbors… www.projectcoyote.org/Coexisting.pdf
TheOrgegonOutlaw... I live in upstate New York, where coyotes have evolved, from interbreeding with Canadian wolves, hence often referred to as coy wolves. Big. And gorgeous. I live on the edge of a small village, surrounded by beautiful rural areas...forests, fields, swamps. About a 100 yards behind my backyard, is a coyote/coywolf den. Prior to the coyotes moving in three years ago, it was a fox den. When a fox den, I saw the fox pups and their parents, occasionally. Now that the coyotes have moved in, never once have I actually seen them. I am very aware that the adults are active at night...yet never once have they been seen in my yard, or around the neighborhood. This in spite of the fact that they obviously move about freely. I have three cats and a dog. As a responsible pet owner I keep my cats indoors, and when outdoors my dog is always with me. Never once have either the foxes nor the coyotes caused any problems, either with pets, getting into garbage, etc. They are quiet, invisible, peaceful neighbors which avoid any contact. That being said, I am very aware that they are predators. Like any predators (including our own cats and dogs) I know that if my pets were left outside unattended they could become potential meals. That would be my fault. Not the coyotes'. The coyotes are only being coyotes. I have shared information similar to the link I posted above, with neighbors and with my community. It's our responsibility to act responsibly and coexist with wildlife. As for issues that ranchers have with predators… I have had a lot of experience with both domesticated and wild animals. I respect and love all animals. It is a sometimes uncomfortable reality, but a reality nonetheless, that all predators must eat other animals in order to survive. But it's part of nature. Having had cows, horses, goats, sheep, chickens as beloved pets, they are all beautiful animals and I would be heartbroken if one of my pets were to die. But I would not hate the animal who did it. I would understand that it was my responsibility to keep the animals within my care, safe. So I do have sympathy for the animals who lose their lives, to predators, as I do when an life is lost… but I understand the reality of nature. However, I have no sympathy for the ranchers, themselves. They hunt/kill/trap coyotes simply because they see their livestock as profit, therefore predators have an impact on their profit margins. Also, ranchers/cattlemen/etc. are the interlopers, they are on the coyotes/wolves/wildlife's land. I do not support any measures which negatively impact the environment or wildlife in order to increase human profit margin's. Added to this, for anyone who says that they hate coyotes/predators, because they kill livestock… but then they themselves kill and put those same animals on their plates...their hypocrisy is obvious. We can coexist with wildlife. Most of us do.
I'm interested in the book, I think you have a niche being a woman there aren't many out there although more are starting to surface I plan on doing the Van life part time and I'm always looking to get a woman's perspective
Love your video + inspiration you bring as I'm going to start my journey next year in 2022 to go solo as a female and give up the apartment life. I'm recently retired and looking for the right rig being cost-effective. I'll have my dog + a few cats as well. I look forward to your future videos. Thank you so very much. Enjoy your journey as I will too and who knows, maybe I'll see you on the shoreline boondocking! 👍
I think you have 20k subs because you make great common sense videos that are both informative and entertaining!!! Thanks for sharing this one and great bear stories. hug Capone for me
Awesome setting today, Carolyn. I feel like I can live vicariously through you for some reason. I am disabled so doing Van Life even for a limited amount of time would be challenging. If I were like I used to be I would probably do it off and on. I am drawn to all of you and am very social. So Id love to be in an area where I could host people sometimes....water, laundry, just a break if you want to have a house to be in for a while. I live in NH and from what I am seeing, the Van life is not as big in NE as other areas. Im here when I can and schedule permits. I will have to sign up for the notification of your book, sounds so interesting and a chance to fill this curious mind with something else. Be safe. :)
I wait and watch anxiously for the next Carolyn video! You've quickly become my favorite RUclips channel. Re bear stories, I worked in Yellowstone as a summer interpretive ranger for four years -- It's almost Impossible NOT to have a beat story in that context! Living and working in grizzly country is a humbling experience.
We are familiar with Ehrenberg. We used to stay at Colorado River Oasis. We had a Western Horizon Resort membership. It was reasonable and safe. As Canadians we had to give it up after my husband developed Atrial Fibrillations. I enjoy following your Videos as I can relate to your experiences. We fulltimed for 10 years. We spent our first year going across Canada during the summer and in the fall we crossed into New England. We spent Christmas at Club Naples in southern Florida. By spring we were in California and headed up the coast to Canada. It was a lot of fun.
Love your channel! You do what I've always wanted to do, but because of family restraints, I never could. I kinda, sorta live vicariously through your video's. Thank you!
So sorry you have not been feeling well. I hope you feel better soon? I would love to know more about meals and cooking in your RV? How do you plan your meals and food shopping? Do you order food through the internet? What is your eating schedule. Do you cook both inside and outside? How much fuel does it take to cook? Do you cook the same as if you are in a stationary home? Do you have a full set of pots and pans? How do you deal with the lack of counter space? Is it hard to keep the kitchen clean? What are your biggest challenges on the road being vegan? Where do you get your food? Do you order food through the internet? If you had to do it all over again would you still get the same RV, or would you pick another type of RV? With Warm Regards, Diane
Hey girlfriend, for showers you need a cheap 5 gallon solar shower with the hose on the bottom. You're parking near water all the time and I've found that just two and a half gallons works if you get wet, soap up and scrub, then rinse. If the water isn't warm enough just add boiling water till it's right.
Thank God Capone is okay!!! Would be my worst nightmare with my pups. I used to take one of my dogs on trail rides with my horse but had some close calls with coyotes. Watch out for them as well. Very crafty and sneaky. They will try to lure him off and ambush him. Also they are impossible to see as they blend in 100%. You can normally only catch movement. Be safe guys!! Mayte
Hi Carolyn! So sorry to hear about your RV. At my age I don't care to much about what people call me. I've been called just about everything and I answer to most of them! I feel like you are like a friend so Hello Friends would work.
just found you. My wife and I enjoyed this. Like you we love camping and are seriously thinking of full time RVing. We will first start doing just weekends then a week at a time and see how it goes first to see if its what we want to do. God bless and YES I have just Subscribed .
Love the bear story. I live in Ten and have camped all over the state, including NC. Never have been bothered by a bear! Thank God. I am more worried and afraid of rattle snakes. I would think they would be a problem in the dessert too. Thanks Carolyn for sharing. Cheryl
Oh boy...with the black tank you could try using a Wand. I picked one up at Wal-Mart for maybe $6 or less. It does work but don't be in a hurry, you will notice the difference. I usually flush my tanks out 2x. The gray tank I don't know? Sometimes mine reads 1/3 full when I have dumped it. I may "fill it up" Swiss it around, maybe a stuck sensor, crud on it? I have never used chemicals in mine, maybe look into that as well. Speaking of "water", I highly recommend a filter. I was getting a 409 ppm from well water, sometimes a 390. From city water a 135 ppm. A 006 is high enough. I tested Family Dollar water, it's always a 003. Nestles bottled water avg a 013, I went to a filter with Zero😉.
Frank Pryor ppm of what? And what type of water filter would be best for a house vs a RV? I've been thinking of this but not sure what types are best, what should I be filtering for... etc. thanks
Keeping it real as slways, love your heartfelt love of all nature and a good dog at your side. I have Diego "Mr San Diego" an Anatolian Shepherd LGD that keeps me and all "his" critters safe ( LGD work to repel not attack unless absolutely nessarry) he sleeps all day unless my Chihuahua aka day patrol) wakes him, and he goes to work. Living with nature, an LGD is the ultimate conservationist.
I'm enjoying every video and look forward to watching them every few days! I am always curious about the flora and fauna in your surroundings during the videos. What is native? What is invasive? I should do the research after each of your videos and post my findings in the comments. Stay safe Carolyn. :)
Hi Carolyn, what kind of equipment do you use to videotape yourself and Capone? The quality is very good, audio and video! I agree with Danielle L' Aviere....you're just a kind spirited soul. Very light and easy to listen to. Also, the life you live is a dream for so many of us...some of the reasons you've gotten so many subs. :-)
Carlyon...heard you say "the Sensors don't work anyway.." might try triggering the circuit breakers on/off a few times. I would check the Fuses to..I replaced my 5 15 amp fuses with ones I saw at Auto Zone that light up Red when blown. Sure takes the guess work out and no hunting one down. Hope you get your readings back on.
Carolyn have you tried a solar shower ? They are very simple and I use river water when available. Only need a gallon and they heat up quickly for a lovely shower. Look on ebay for solar shower. If you come to the UK you're welcome to boondock at our place. God Bless and keep safe. Dave.
Oh, I LOVE solar showers! First tried one whilst white water rafting the Grand Canyon. Everyone else had to make do with wading into the 55 degree Colorado River and splashing themselves clean as quickly as possible. I had lovely warm river water hanging above my head from a tree. Bliss!! :)
David - yes my friends say I have a knack for it!! Part of it is being fearless. LOL. Stay tuned for more. thank you for being here and your kind comment. - Carolyn
hope the solar works well for you. kinda want to see how easy you can get it installed and running good. And again keep it up, you live like most of us wish we could and you inspire me and others im sure!
20K subscribers in 6 weeks that's awesome. You seem to be a free spirit, welcome to the wonderful world of RVing :-) Looking forward to your ebook. Thank you for sharing.
Protecting yourself from bears is easy wear bells to scare them off and use bear spray to defend yourself if you have to. Looking at bear scat it’s easy to tell which ones are nearby… Black bear scat is smaller and it has leaves and berries in it. Grizzly bear scat is larger contains bells and reeks of pepper spray
Keep a good eye on Capone! He seems very protective of you. We just put one of our dogs to sleep on Monday. It was very unexpected. Started having seizures at 3am and had 6 or 8 by morning when we could get him to the vet. I miss him a lot! I just ran across a very good RV RUclipsr, who has very different videos from any other RVer I have watched. He has been doing videos 5 or 6 months. He is trying very hard to get his viewers up. Just has 440 or so subscribers right now. Give him a look and see what you think. He is RV Jedeye and pick an older video. He has been doing short infommericials during the holidays. I think Florida needs to hire him to promote their campgrounds & state parks. LOL I will pass your info along to him. He isn't a full timer yet, but I think that is his plan. ~Donna
👍 You're having a measure of success because it's your time. Sometimes the Gods, sun, moon and stars align with our thoughts and actions so the Universe can give us what we need and want. You can't bottle it or taste but it's beautiful to see (witness) and feel. Happy for you. Wishing you the best. 🤗💞🤗
I would love that book in paper form. I have a small home business and am interested in what you have to say. there is a lot of info out there but we never get to see or here the person behind the written word. Thanks Carolyn. Enjoy your informative videos. PS...I make Jewelry and also sell vintage jewelry in an Etsy shop. Other venues also.
Bears are everywhere in the Yosemite area. They go into the dumpsters at the condos when someone forgets to latch the lids! One bear ate my banana peel and backpack of candies at a lake on the Tioga Pass Road.
Love your camp site w/water,all the views, behind you also. I enjoyed the whole video. Congratulations about to complete book. plus many subscribers in 6 weeks! I will remember to put my glass's on whenever hooking up anything. sorry about the solar panel. :( yes, apparently black bears as you said,,(w/out cub,) do fear people. I was up at Rob Roy Reservoir , I think S. of Lareme,Wy. btw, a great boondocking place if you've not been there. I was walking in the woods ,I looked up from something I saw on ground a bear was walking towards me 50 to 75ft away. The bear turned around and ran off. Yes, I'm thankfull nothing worst happened other than my heart beating so fast of that first encounter. But from then on I wore many bells on my shoe laces, talk to myself, clap, makeing noise . I then found a great aspen walking pole that I still have to this day. Iv been binge watching many rv channels since I found yours and others. I really appreciate what almost all of you share. My complements to camera person. Carolyn appreciate the lady view point to traveling solo. I'm like you I prefer my solitude and wide open spaces. Jp
What a scare with Capone! There are some big ass pepper sprays and other repellents ( including GUNS) for bears and others stuff. Have a happy new year.
You are an amazing---so brave. When I was a kid, we were in a camping trailer, in the UP of Mi , on our 500 acres --in the middle of Nowhere. My Dad would take off with the car and leave my Mom and us two kids alone in this 12 ? ft trailer. We had our food contained--nothing outside--using only canned food-(no power of course ) . Black bears would try to break in every trip we took-and we are inside--prying at the windows --getting on the roof. We had 2 dogs inside with us--and a rifle . We were prey to them---the trailer was a 1950 something and built Heavy-thank God. The dogs barking and us screaming would make them go away--after a long peroid. They also would try to get in at night , and rock the trailer. This is Very out of the norm, and these bears just did not run across humans... and I know we had no business being alone there..... I am glad your experences were better--but please be careful and never trust bears ...... enjoy watching you and your sweet guy ! And want you around for a long, long time ! Blessings...Deanna
Congrats on the book! Good things happen when you're doing what you love! On another note, I've hiked and camped in a lot of remote places and the only bear I've ever seen outside a zoo was on a hiking trail a mile from a New Jersey highway - lol. Now, about that spider...
I was a park ranger on an island that had rattle snakes and dens of baby rattler's and aside from my going to look for a den I never saw a snake in my 4 years there. :) Cheers!
Geraldine! Happy New year and welcome!!! I am so glad you decided to join our adventure!!! Capone is definitely the star of the show! :-) hugs and puppy kisses to you!
Question ; Would it be possible to pan your camera so we can get an Idea of you surroundings Share what you are enjoying I would like that if you can. Even if you post it after you have left the area.
I bought new software that gives me more flexibility and still learning it But I added lots of panned shots to this one. AND my Friday escape the Rat Race vids are all about my week's views thanks for watching
I do love the way you tell stories... Thanks for a good laugh... You are so blessed... My day is coming and I'll be back out on the road if my wife and daughters!!! will let me. since the wreck four years ago and me being stuck in bed for so long where they can monitor me closely not quite sure if I'll have the freedom to travel like I did before the wreck.... That remains to be seen... First I got to get fully on my feet and build up all the strength I've lost from laying around all the time... I've gotten pretty lazy I must say...LOL,LOL,LOL.... Thanks again for another fun filled video :0)
Carolyn, Here is another concern about dogs and bears. A loose dog can can harass and piss-off a bear in the woods enough to cause it to chase the dog. When this happens, who do you think the dog is going to run to for safety? This has happened to me. Fortunately, it was a black bear.
Came for Capone, stayed for you. :) I didn't give a lot of thought to my dogs and water until watching this. They drink about 1/2 of a gallon per day. (Both are long haired and a lot of what they "drink" is actually drip.) Never gave any thought to figuring them into the usage factor.
Yes, good point. If I'm near water he can drink out of a lake or creek, but if not, he's a factor!! I also carry a couple of extra gallons - if I know i'll be out a while. Thank for staying --- for both of us!! :-)
Sweet, how's the Fishin ? Luv b'in in Areas like That. Brings bck Memories of my Childhood Dai's spent every Smr on the Lake Fishin & Canoein with my Friends . . .
Good for you Carolyn!! Im 70 and a woman and there are so many things i am good at.its called CONFIDENCE! We have earned it!
You reached 20.000 Subs not for your marketing skills but because you are a good soul and you shine thru on your conversations. There are many of us who see life just like you....Keep it up.
Danielle L' Aviere well said.
That's very kind Danielle. Thank you!
Danielle L' Aviere That's what first attracted me to her channel, her honesty and the clear eyed way she views life everyday.
Danielle L' Aviere personality. we like u. u seem real, interesting, smart, on and on.....
You took the words out of my mouth, if I may say so :) x...
The spacious scenery, the depth and width of the discussions,
The sound of the wind and of Capone's feet crunching thru the sand.
There and so many reasons why I look forward to each episode ...
Pressed, I would have to say that the central attraction is
The totally abandoned laugh of one who knows how
To be ALIVE and AWAKE. Roll on, Carolyn!
erik - that is a beatiful statement . Thank you very very much!
This is a very helpful video for a single woman with a dog, thanks. Even though its a few years old its so much better than a lot of stuff I've watched that's generalized with no actual stories. You rock.
You're like a strong dose of REAL in a society full of pretenders. Lots of us appreciate that.
David. that is very kind.. Life is too short to pretend :-p
thank you for being a part of this journey!

Carolyn's RV Life j
Carolyn I wanted to tell you that I really appreciate your candor and your kind heart. I am planning to make this my life in the year coming and you remind me often of why I am making this choice. Well done kind lady :D
20,000 because of true experience and you're not big headed, you're kind and sweet Very down to earth. We love you Carolyn keep up the great videos and stories
Jose, that is so kind of you to say.. I love this community we are building... so awesome! THank you very much for being here and being part of my adventure!! Yay. :-)
I cannot add to Danielle's words.....perfect expression of who you are Carolyn!
Thank you Gregory!
my guess, as of this writing, is that you may have well exeeded your 20k+ subscribers. i've just subscribed.
Arland
Awww Arland,, you are very sweet!!

I had to bug out for a couple of days.. back in camp. Hope you're wll.
Carolyn's RV Life
I'm still here. Moved a little east. Across from Toms red van. Come on by anytime.
Christine, Capone and I thank you for the kind word!!! -
I think it goes beyond your marketing skills.
LOL
ty for making me chuckle! - C
Well done for the 20,000.... but the simple fact for this, is because your honest and a pure soul... :) x
*smiles...
thank you Eric, that's very kind!
Thank you for being part of my adventure here!
- Carolyn
Yep,I was just thinking the same thing as the last person who commented. It's just you girl! You are a pleasure to spend time with.
So glad you're doing so well Carolyn
Thank you Sarah!
Another nice and informative video. Thank you for having us along for the adventure, Carolyn.
I love your stories!! I can't imagine doing this, but love hearing your stories and enjoy this RUclips channel so much!!
Thank you! You keep my passion fresh as I work towards full time the end of this summer. Just my dog and me, I can't wait!
Awesome.. the end of summer will be here before you know it!
Congrats and good luck! - C
Thanks Carolyn. I show these videos to my wife. It all helps when going through the process of RV life. We hope 2017 is your year.
Awesome Craig! Good luck to you both!
Jon
Thank you very much Jon, I appreciate your kind words and encouragement!
Hi C,
1) Solid info on Black Bears.
Some suggestions on who existing with our wild coyote neighbors…
www.projectcoyote.org/Coexisting.pdf
As for issues that ranchers have with predators…
I have had a lot of experience with both domesticated and wild animals.
Lady, your videos just make me happy!
Belinda... awwww. ty my friend. :-)
talk to me about your editing skills. PM me if you're looking for work. :-)
I messaged you on your facebook page... I know you might have to search for it ;-)
I'm interested in the book, I think you have a niche being a woman there aren't many out there although more are starting to surface I plan on doing the Van life part time and I'm always looking to get a woman's perspective
I will make this happen... I am so inspired by your positive outlook, your love of boondocking and being with nature... you are my heroine!
Thanks for sharing this one and great bear stories. hug Capone for me
Thank you Riens!!!
+Carolyn's RV Life is this 20k in about 5 weeks? I can't find any earlier vids? Impressive if so
+matthew wood your video answered this a few minutes later 😄
Love your videos. They are so down to earth. Good luck on your travels. Stay safe
Thank you very much Richard!
Be safe. :)
Good for you, Carolyn!!! Living your Dream!!!
Yes, life is good!
:-)
That river is beautiful, the birds were fun to watch. Burro are a nice occasional sight.
If the water isn't warm enough just add boiling water till it's right.
raleighman3000 The Navy would run you off taking those long Hollywood showers,
Happy New Year Carolyn..thanks for all the inspiring stories of boondocking ( :
Its nice to know your living your dream
My tent camping days and day hikes have taken place a few years ago but I thankfully have never a bad encounter but some close calls.
Carolyn You r an inspiration to me in my life I'm going to do what your doing and I know I to will find happiness in freedom. thank u so much🤗
just found you.
Cheryl
once again...you have given me more hope...thank you...
I've been thinking of this but not sure what types are best, what should I be filtering for... etc. thanks
I subscribe because your videos are a lovely look at a creative and passionate life. Thank you for making these wonderful videos. 🤓
Carolyn has 20k subscribers because she is a precious soul
Thank you for being Real n candid!
Thanks Frank.. they 'work" - as in the lights are on, they're just not accurage.. always say full or always read empty.. :-)
thanks for the tips! - C
Bliss!! :)
I don't. Just keep your mouth closed. Like in Mexico or China.
Nope. Use it just as it comes. Akindofmagick has it right !!
I made a bracket that just slotted on the back door of my truck and used a thing we (in the UK) call a wind break to make a modesty screen ;)
I love your videos. Happy New Year. Hope you enjoy your future adventures xx
I love your stories! You should have a regular Storytime series. I bet you have some good ones, I always enjoy your videos. :-)
Joan, that's a good idea worth considering. Glad you enjoy my stories. ty for being here!
You always find really great spots to boondock. Beautiful area, I love the river.
Another awesome video, please please keep it up, you are an inspiration a wonderful dose of Real.
20K subscribers in 6 weeks that's awesome. You seem to be a free spirit, welcome to the wonderful world of RVing :-) Looking forward to your ebook. Thank you for sharing.
Wonderful!!!!!!!!!! Still on the East Coast, heading that way next year.
I hope we cross paths., I am not in a van, I have a 40 ft. nothing matters, let just have fun.
I agree 100 % lets keep in contact, I am not sure how to do that.
I
can not get here.?
~Donna
I enjoy your guidance in RVing. I am trying to begin my RV life. Slow process. Tough in my kind of work. (Multiple jobs)...
great videos lady,I've seen many of others on here and I enjoy yours very much ! stay safe and Happy new year.
Larry, you're very kind! TY!!
Mimi - for now it will just be available as a download.. Maybe I'll publish to Amazon eventually, not sure.
Carolyn's RV Life Thanks Carolyn...looking forward to it coming out.
Hi! One of your "friendliest" here. Just signed up for your e-book! Loved your bear stories!
Thank you very much Sheila!! yay!! :-)
yes, apparently black bears as you said,,(w/out cub,) do fear people.
Yes it`s better to be kind than to be right. Sparky and Shawnee
Veprjack = thank you for the congrats. Bears in NJ.. how funny!
yeah, that was a monster of a spider, wasn't it?? crazy!
Thanks for the info. I've often wondered how you deal with snakes, etc. while boondocking. Happy New Year!
I was a park ranger on an island that had rattle snakes and dens of baby rattler's and aside from my going to look for a den I never saw a snake in my 4 years there. :) Cheers!
Happy New Year from a new subscriber! Capone makes a splendid co-host.
Geraldine! Happy New year and welcome!!! I am so glad you decided to join our adventure!!!
Capone is definitely the star of the show! :-)
hugs and puppy kisses to you!
Question ;
Would it be possible to pan your camera so we can get an Idea of you surroundings
Share what you are enjoying I would like that if you can.
Even if you post it after you have left the area.
I did... maybe rewatch. :-)
I bought new software that gives me more flexibility and still learning it
But I added lots of panned shots to this one.
AND my Friday escape the Rat Race vids are all about my week's views
thanks for watching
Love all of your videos! Can't wait until I can get your book.
Can't wait for the book! Artists need to market, too. Thanks
C# - yes, artists do! ty!!! - C
