I know it's an older video, but I just ordered one of these with the V2 ESC for my UTB18 Comp Rig. I cannot wait to get this thing installed and run it in the rocks.
Thanks John, I really like that you are taking the time to talk tech again. If you find the time, I'd love yo hear more about the 2800kv 380. I just bought one for my barrage v2 I'm using for an ultralight bastard Jr build
I recently bought one of your puller pro V2's and am beyond impressed with the low end control for crawling along with amazing torque and speed. Amazing products right here
I really dig the flywheel effect of the outrunners, I run a stubby “Devolver” 1800 in my Axial 10.3 Rubicon (full weight) on 3s w/ a Mamba X and it is the smoothest truck in my collection. I have a 3300 Puller Pro in my SCX10 Rubi (same electronics) and short of portals to, the difference is night and day, one rips and the other crawls all day.
I had both versions of the 380 but I gifted the V2 to my brother for his ultra light crawler build and im using the V1 in my Scx24 Monster truck build 😁
Huh, what did he say? 😉 Lol, I'll let you figure out the engineering and trust your opinion on what works best for my application. I just bought the regular 380 for my Losi MRC and can't wait to try it out! 👍
Would this be the best motor for the Axial Capra UTB18 1/18. Would love to buy one. Just want to make sure it fits. If not what one would fit the UTB18. Thank You!
Mine showed up today! Excited to put it into a Yeti Jr. I've been trying to 'crawlify' - goign to see how a Hobbywing 16BL30 does... but probably need to get more ESC soon too.
Update - yeah that 16bl30 was dog poop for running a revolver haha. SO I snagged me one of those new Mamba Micro X2's and now it's crawling like a boss :) Thanks for your other video regarding settings for the Mamba as well - wasn't revolver specific but with the curves and punch settings you recommended it's much smoother and easier to control. Have to say the AUX Wire with multiple drag brake settings is pretty darn fantastic as well! ruclips.net/video/Bu7e7qzQQaM/видео.html if you want to see it :)
Thanks for this informative video Mr. Holmes. Always learning new things from you. I have a quick question: How do you compare this new tiny motor with the CrawlMaster BL (10-Pole) 2700kV motor in terms of torque and overall power? Thanks again!
Hi John, I have a Bully 2 using two of these 380 v2's, two SHV500 LP DIRECT POWER 16V servos and two crawlmaster mini v2 esc's on 3s. I love this rig and it is only used for slow technical crawling but sometimes when both servos are under load they simply just don't have enough power. I know the esc's and servos can handle 4s but I can't find any info on voltage ratings for the 380 v2. In a slow crawling environment like I described can these motors handle 4s? I sure would like to use one 4s battery to power everything. Thanks for all that you do for the RC Industry and thanks for taking the time to make these videos.
I am putting traxxas # 9290 lite kit, in my 2021 bronco On the chassis wiring diagram it shows a red/white lead going to brushed motor, I am hoping that you will have a solution for this.....The wiring diagram is in installation book Page 3. How do we send a signal to know forwards and reverse so the brake lite will work ,and the backup lights too. Thank You Eric
Hey Joh. Which one of your motors would you recommend for the Axial Ryft. Would like to be able to have some smooth low end speed etc, when in 1st gear, and still rip well in 2nd. I see a few options, but nothing but your Comp motor that has a 5mm shaft.
I´m building a Loops lj70 body on the mst cfx chasis and my crawlmaster sport 540 doesn´t fit under the hood, I need something smaller in diameter and lenght. Do you think that the revolver 380 v2 could be a good motor for a "heavy" trail rig? The body itself is so heavy and I´m runnin rc4wd cast axles, steel wheels... maybe will finish at 3,5 kg or 4. Hope you can help me John! Thank you in advance
Can I send my BR mini dual ESC to you somehow the brown protective coating on one of the speed controls melted the speed controls wasn't running hot the motors wasn't running hot I'm running team puller 500 13t. when I took the truck apart to clean it I found the plastic of the cables was melted and the wires was exposed. It looks like they need to be unsoldered and a new set put back on but I'm not willing to try that and mess them up. 😅😭😭😳
Hope this comment doesn’t get lost but I just installed a 380 v2 revolver and crawl master mini v3 to my utb18 build. And motor seems to “shake” or “cog” when hitting steep or straight angles. I’m curious if my rig is a little too heavy for the motor or if I just need to do some tuning. (rig weight 2581 grams) Thanks in advance
@@HolmesHobbies I will be gearing down the motor pinion once the new one shows up, currently running a 17 tooth so going to try a 13 tooth next and hopefully that helps. I could also drop tire size by about 10mm but anymore than that and they’ll be too small for my wheels base. If it still has issues I can also start removing added brass components till i find a good balance. I appreciate the fast response 👍
Do you know why fewer turns make a motor faster? If so could you do a video on it. I understand that more turns provide more torque but it puzzles me why it goes slower with more turns. I would think a stronger magnetic field would create more speed and torque.
Just saw that you're supporting Redcat. Redcat have been very vocal about trying to regulate the airspace that hobby grade flyers use. Enjoy the cash you sell out 👏👏👏
Ecx temper is something that really needs that extra oomph.. wheel speed and power.. but then ESC wise the original would most likely have to be replaced. Does this motor work with the new ESC you've made.. 🤔
I know it's an older video, but I just ordered one of these with the V2 ESC for my UTB18 Comp Rig. I cannot wait to get this thing installed and run it in the rocks.
Nice work sir. I really enjoy learning a bit about the science and engineering trade offs behind your products. Kudos.
Thanks John, I really like that you are taking the time to talk tech again. If you find the time, I'd love yo hear more about the 2800kv 380. I just bought one for my barrage v2 I'm using for an ultralight bastard Jr build

I own 4 HH motors and even if the product video won't fit any of my applications tech videos are always welcome.
Thank you..I was one of the many people requesting a 380 specifically for the CR12.
What pinion are you using? Not sure what pinion was stated in the video. Thanks

Nice. Always something new. Killing it 💪
Great video as always !
Got me one for my sons cr12. Now just waiting on a crawlmaster mini kit

Hi, can the revolver 380 v2 fit an ECX temper gen 2? I'm planning electronics upgrade but i don't know if it will fit there.
This motor would be perfect for the new Enduro12 as well then. AWESOME!
Yes, originally made for cr12
@@HolmesHobbies what pinion do you suggest to use on a cr12 since we need a 3mm bore pinion?
I have the 1/12 monster truck I like the idea of the 380 size motor what's a good ESC that would compliment your work
I have a space limited project where tottal length cant be more than 40mm, is this motor length under 40mm?
Hi you you still involved with grin tech electric wheel convertion ?
Would this work for a v1 exc temper? I’d love a nice slow motor but it runs a 380 can brushed motor
Will the 380v2 fit into an MOA rig lik the Danchee Ridgerock?
Huh, what did he say? 😉 Lol, I'll let you figure out the engineering and trust your opinion on what works best for my application. I just bought the regular 380 for my Losi MRC and can't wait to try it out! 👍
Me like good informative intel 🤙 going to try this motor for sure !!SVS!!
What size pinion would you recommend using in the CR12 assuming the rest of the rig is stock with 90mm tires?
Awesome tha baby revolver is sick in a yeti jr can am with a 14t pinion thanks mr Holmes ✊🏽
The v2? I never picked up a jr
Ooh snap tha man! Yep mr Holmes tha v2 never had a chance to grab tha 2600kv baby revolver but luvin tha 2800kv thanks Rc bro✊🏽
Mr Holmes u got to do a micro servo ✊🏽🤓 blow reef and nsdrc out of tha water 😉👊🏽

Will it work in a kyosho blizzard 2.0?
How to make it fit into a Losi MRC??
I wonder if that will fit in my EXC temper. 🧐
What esc would be needed to power a 380v2

Can you gear lower? Rig weight is an important factor that causes more strain, tall tires as well.

Good suggestion! It is more about Flux density for any given voltage and terminal resistance. It's like a transformer.
@@HolmesHobbies see that’s what I’m looking for! I’ve looked around and asked all kinds of people.
Hey guys....question. what is the best budget brushless motor i can purchase for my traxxas revo 3.3 converted to electric...on amazon?
I'd probably fail professor Holmes' class
Too much nerd.... Now my brain hurts 😁

Can't win them all. But I'll work to make RTR rigs better when the chance arises.
