    Is that the upper limit of the minimax? How much does the rig weigh? I‘m thinking about minimax or vario5, but if i‘m under 5kg(min weight for vario5) i don’t know if that still works. Also minimax is cheaper of course(:

    Thank you dude. This is exactly what I needed. How do you feel about the XLR Handle bearing the weight? Is it solid? I was worried about putting stress on it with my new Eazyrig.

      I mean that handle bears the weight normally, Don't see why it would be horribly different now.

    Nice! Wondering why the client wanted the FX3 over the FX6.
    I don’t have easy rig but have similar rig set up, except I use the Tilta TA-PBP-K1-V Tiltaing Pocket V-Mount Battery Plate + a 15mm Rod Adapter, together with the new compact small rig V90 batteries and man, that is just even more compact.
    A also have the handle extension from small rig with the NATO rail on top and exactly the same adjustable monitor mount .. being able to adjust the angle with one hand , tool free is just a game changer… A nice accessory compatible with the small rig handle extension is the Top Plate for Sony FX3 XLR module which adds a super convenient cold shoe on top of the module where I can put a wireless receiver for a lavalier mic.

      It was a concert/wedding/doc film. We wanted a smaller profile with camera. Tons of people in a small space. It worked out great! I will check that v mount out.

    I love actual real-life practical builds! haha I built my a7S III out for a dirt track shoot this weekend and am running 12" carbon rods with an Fxlion Nano Three v-mount powering the Sony (you should get an Fxlion or SmallRig with USB-C PD to actually be able to power the Sony via USB-C and free up a D-Tap!), 70-200 2.8 II, top handle, side handle w/ Rode VideoMic (I love my SmallRig universal wooden side handle!) and Ninja V. I have front handles and a shoulder pad from a previous shoulder rig, but I've merged it together and have loads of options now. Planned on just going handheld the whole time, but now you have me wondering if I should pack up the Ready Rig. 🤔

    what monitor do you use?

  • @AfoteyAnnum

    Nice rig setup.
    Curious about the monitor placement though. What happens if you need to get a low angle shot? How will you move the monitor to get a good view if the string is blocking that particular axis of movement?

    • @jonwaldman94
      @jonwaldman94  Год назад +1

      Thanks! Good question. Truthfully I didn't do any real low angle shots with this configuration since I was on a pretty long lens. With my FX6 I use a Kondor Blue Articulating ball arm. That allows me to move the monitor low. I guess the FX3 having a smaller top handle might get in the way of that.

      @@jonwaldman94 understood.
      I use a similar setup, but I normally attach the rig in front of the monitor so that it has full range of motion.
      Thank you for posting this! Very inspirational, and super sweet rig!!!!
