- Once again we Daytona International Speedway in the Gr3 machinery but the settings this time give a slightly different dynamic....get all the tips on how to tackle this one inside

Appreciate that Hip..just wish PD would up the ante with the daily races so could freshen up the format.
Assuming we are locked into single compound races these days, I wonder if:
/upping the tyre wear X quite a bit so that the Ford, but not others (e.g. Supra), would need a tyre change and
/upping the fuel X (and even reducing the refueling rate) so that more efficient cars have an advantage
could bring a few more cars into play 🤔. Maybe not given it's such a power dominated track.
Does look like multi compound races are out for just now doesn't it.
Tweaking certain parameters would possible help open up the race but hard to bring a car that tops out 166mph into play against cars that do 172-174mph at a track like this.
I'd love to see them just use random weather and random TOD to help keep things fresh for the week....this would affect the tyrewear, fuel consumption and slip effectiveness from race to race with different temps, weather and wind speeds making each race have a different feel and dynamic.

Day night transition would've been nice! We know they can do it. They did it the very first week of GT7.

I'm sure most of you are aware but refuelling is super quick in the pits...if you don't refuel your stationary for 1.6 second and with 15%20% fuel on top that stationary time is only 2.5-3 seconds so you lose hardly anything taking the fuel....in the Pug VGT this is definitely best way to do it as it does lose laptime shortshifting...in the GT40 you can save fuel more efficiently and lose less speed but overall id still recommend refueling.
That was a shocking race for me, didn't realise both Hogston and yourself were coming past me at the same time there! 😅
I'd gone off at the chicane, lost a load of time, the got a track limits penalty for my troubles...
Yeah I seen your troubles in Tidgneys video....First races are always a bit messy!!

I wonder if the less powerful cars require no fuel saving. But overall the top end still matters.
Looked liked perfect fuel management second race!
Other cars to include : Mustang, AMG and Genesis?

You might be able to see some drivers switch to fuel 2 or 3 and keep up with the draft, but its not really a sacrifice you want to make to pick a less optimal car for 10 because PD won't change fuel refill rate for 8... even 50% or 20% fuel refill rate compared to normal would make this a real possibility.
I think a lot if Gr3 cars will not need to fuel save but also be uncompetitive. Most of them struggle to get upto 166mph so giving 6 and 8mph away to the GT40 and Pug VGT on the straights.
Shame really as when its a one make I feel bored pretty quickly and tbh once you have done this race once or twice there's not much more to it.

I'll forgive the "We've done Daytona X times" because were 2 weeks away from the start of the Daytona 24 festivities (iRacing is already gearing up for their Roar and 24 now.) and AFAIK we already had a Nations Gr 1 (787 fest IIRC) and there hasn't been a BoP so it would be a one-make based on previous experiences. This does look like a draft "Pit with a partner" was is any race at Daytona. Looks like a great combo... and then we wont' see another one for 3 months.
Yeah I know its coming close to real event but even so they could do so much more to keep the combo fresh...just random weather and maybe random TOD of they have that capability would made race so much more appealing for the week with differing TOD, weather and wind speeds affecting tyrewear, fuel consumption, slip effectiveness, car competitiveness from racecto race...instead after 5 races yesterday im bored with it already tbh

Dunno why, but this combo it's not tempting enough, but I will give a try cuz I love the GT40 sound. Btw Toyota gt500 with tune could me stronger. It's head to head on fuel saving vs pacing if I'm not mistaken
I like the combo but done it before to many times and always descends into the same thing. One car and losing slip is fatal....I did 5 races yesterday and tbh don't have much desire to do more!
@@wombleleaderracing6455 nvm what I said. Got my second suspension in 1y on Gt7. 2 months without playing GT, only another games. This acc has 13y, since PS3, more than 500 games bought and ZERO problems. But somehow, this GT7 can be even more toxic compared to CoD community. People can't say nothing ingame chat, cuz they cry and do a report of your WORDS after ruining everybody's race with their ACTIONS. Tired of this brainless kids of GT7, nonsense.
Maybe I will take my brother CD and acc and find the lobby's where the Spanish Alex_Conquero is playing to do what he did to me. But honestly I have so many games that I don't even want to waste my energy on that and my time on GT7. Cheers 🍻

Strategy in the Ford GT seems to be flat out and refuel 20% or so.
Yeah refueling is super quick...really should have reduced refuel rate a bit.
My hometown track and PD always makes this race with the same cars. Thanks for the guide nonetheless and will make the best of the week. Formation lap, lololol.?

I'd heard about that start of the second race from Konsta. That was hilarious to watch but I imagine annoying for the drivers
Yeah was an unusual one and definitely funny when the game gave back control and no-one realised it lol....least it eventually started and didn't have to watch it for 50 mins as was 5 mins a lap at that speed.
Gah Peugeot VGT looks strong but its got no interior so its a weird VR experience with a roof camera!
Looks pretty even between GT40 and Pug VGT. Even fuel doesn't feel much different between them...yeah VR in the pug is weird but should be an option in every car 😆.

I don’t know how to make fuel save
Short shifting and fuel maps but to be honest I'd just take on the fuel at a pitstop as at most you lose 1.5-2 seconds as refueling is so quick!
isn't the Ford GT Race Car '18 a top end speed car? (Le Mans)
I think the 18 was but possibly lost in in a BOP update... the 97 Supra can match the GT40 but has rubbish acceleration.
as always great guide. But Daily c won't be my choice for this week. I hate Daytona!

I'm so slow on this track but much faster at Suzuka
All about being super aggressive on the throttle out the 4 slow corners then launching it through the chicane...try TC if not already as if using the GT40 it really helps the rear end stick!
