Under-appreciated movie. It’s a real classic and emotional story. The effects, sets and makeup are great too!
Edit: to all of you who say “It’S nOt UnDeR-ApPrEcIaTeD!” The movie was not well received by critics and some fans of the original movie when it first came out 20 years ago. Some said Jim Carrey’s performance was not enough to save the movie. We all know this is BS these days. The movie the BECAME a classic after all this time because it got to a point where people understood what was so good about it and stopped comparing it to the original animated classic. I must be old for remembering this, I was 10 in 2000 and saw the movie in Theaters and remember the reaction by a lot of people. I personally always loved this movie.

The makeup earned the movie an Oscar. A great win for an underappreciated Christmas movie. Love this as much as the Chuck Jones cartoon. Illumination's isn't bad but it could have been worse.
If anything, this is the most APPRRCIATED movie.. you cannot think about Christmas and not think about The Grinch! Grinch is a HUGE part of Christmas

Went to see this in theaters with my aunt when I was a kid. I was okay about it, but I feel that as an adult I can appreciate the humor in it a lot more. I love it now.

She was a great character, when i watched it as a 4-5 year old i wasn't scared of the grinch because i didn't see any fear in her, not even the first time she meets the grinch, i think it says something that james and the giant peach was another of my favorites. I could stand seeing somewhat scary things if the characters weren't afraid of those things that would normally scare a child. Its why i also like scooby doo and harry potter, sure the characters were scared of the unknown but they didn't let that stop them.
Theory- The events of James and the Giant Peach is James hallucinating due to starvation because his terrible aunts didn’t feed him…
That's one of the best christmas movie ever made .... it really makes me feel the christmas spirit!!

I’d watch this movie on repeat when I was little the second it would go off I’d replay it! This is one of the greatest Christmas movies there is! A masterpiece! The makeup, costumes, scenery, and acting everything just made this the perfect movie!
I auditioned for Cindy Lou Who's role when I was younger and I've always been so sad for not booking that job just because of Jim Carrey alone hahah 😭❤️

It's crazy to think that I was scared of this movie from Kindergarten to 8th grade. I always found the Grinch creepy and scary. I got over the fear in the 8th grade when they played the movie in an after school program.
