I always related to Haruhi, never really Kyon. Her backstory was the first thing in anime I ever REALLY connected with, which is why I loved the show so much. It was also the FIRST fansubbed show I ever watched (I don't think I even understood it was fansubbed at the time), on youtube, in 3 parts each at like 140p. I had to leave all the windows open before I left for school so they'd load before I got home. Funny, I really didn't enjoy the show watching it with Bird because all that was apparent is just how uncomfortable a person Haruhi is and how much Kyon needs to stand up for himself and Mikuru against her. (I still haven't actually seen season 2 mind you. It sounds like the character relationships get a lot more interesting, there.) Framing Kyon as leading Haruhi along is really interesting, and also pointing out how dishonest everyone is with Haruhi is a great point to focus on. At some point, she'd probably be devastated to learn the truth, right? Pointing out Koizumi's jealousy and assumptiveness, he does kinda seem like the actual bad guy of the story in a way. You convinced me the show is good, again.
Kyoani actually posted on their twitter that something is gonna be announced this Saturday (9/21) and there are a bunch of Japanese commenters hoping that it's Haruhi-related, so I guess it's still pretty popular there. Would be sick if it actually happens, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up lol
I could definitely see Haruhi making a comeback for 1-2 seasons to wrap up the story. There is a lot of mid-2000’s nostalgia going around rn and it seems like the perfect time for such an important show in anime history to come back

I try to show ppl the movie over the years cuss is one of my fav movies but almost everyone I know has not seen the show. So they don’t know why the movie is good.. and also i personally was never the biggest fan of the show. Cuss I thought kyo never had good character development. Sadly for me I never really had a haruhi suzumiya in my life.. or at less not in the same way Vic did. I guess maybe that’s why I feel like I have not really gotten anywhere in life cuss I never had the ppl who force me to do stuff.. ( and the little I force myself never lasted long) or maybe is cuss I was never kyo. I was just one of his friends who get drag along sometimes. Therefore I never matter to the haruhi suzumiya.. in my life. So therefore I was never important enough to get anywhere.
