How to set up a commercial airpump to minimize noise

  • Some one was asking why their airpump was soo loud, well i figured id show a quick video of my setup. If you hang the airpump from a chord, the chord itself will absorb a lot of the vibration thus limiting the noise. In the video my airpump is running but you can barely hear it even when i am close. Also you MUST hang it so that its horozontal, the bearings inside you airpump will thank you. These things also generate a ton of heat so i use venturi tubes on a submerged pump and water falls to supply most of the oxygen for my fish, the airpump is secondary back up in case a pump etc fails.

Put a small fan on your air pump and it will stay completely cool

They have a new model now and it's a noise killer even in 25w and up.

So what do you use for your primary air supply. I wan to do compost brew in a 5 gallon bucket. But don't want excessive noise.

Sorry for the late response. Primary source of air are venturi tubes setup on all the pumps.

Fynny but it works... the rope eliminates any vibrational noise... i only use the airpump very minimally now. Ive set up venturi tubes on all the pumps to oxygenate the air...
