Absolutely, I recently purchased a 2006 R53 Cooper S, and while it may not be the highest HP car, it is an absolute blast to drive. It has a nice amount of low-mid range torque with the SC and kinda falls off when you get higher in the RPM band. But that’s actually been a blessing in disguise. I don’t have to ring it out when I want to have a little fun, I’ll go to about 4700-5000 and just start rowing thru the gears and it pulls great and the SC whine is nice as well. Only plan on doing suspension and exhaust upgrades, maybe a reduced pulley, upgrade pads and rotors and call it done. I’ll take a car that I can use every bit of instead of something that has an ungodly amount of power and try to keep it under control on the road. These are road cars, not race cars.
Wow! This Porsche looks unreal, the mint goes so hard on this body style. I imagine it looks so different in person. It's the fastest tube of toothpaste I've ever seen.

that eight hour drive by yourself must have been therapeutic! The older I get the more I appreciate having a few hours by myself to just enjoy the car. Very rarely happens.
I have to admire you guys that pour tons of money into these old Porsche cars. It's uneconomical but I think I understand your addiction. I'm a Mustang guy myself but I only drive late model stuff.
Such a simply beautiful machine, wow. And EP9 seems like such an great shop - the water and KitKat for the roadtrip were so thoughtful, not to mention the freaking headers!
Next time you are visiting EP9 with that car, you need to drive north to Tadoussac. It is an amazing drive with the St.Lawrence on one side and Fjords (Yes, real Fjords) and mountains on the other side. Culminating with a quaint little town with some of the best Whale watching in the world.
Pretty neat seeing my home province showing up in the big RUclipsrs videos the last 5 days! Vice grip was 45 min from me, Adams a bit further away and then mischa was driving a gt3rs in anger thats owners were from Ontario too! Were an auto juggernaut in Canada!
I'm paraphrasing a little but I think he pretty much says "we did the casting to get away from the factory design. The factory design doesn't have the capabilities of putting a good port configuration in. Our ports are a lot higher/faster velocity. These [stock ones] crack a lot, we put the material in all the right areas - there's at least a quarter inch of wall thickness after we put our largest port in here which is about 47mm. A lot of guys like to weld these up on the sides here to get more beef combustion chamber because they have this problem here. So we went straight across and created a half inch deck. Spring pockets are thicker, ports are thicker. Cooling capabilities are better - we went a bit thinner on the fins and added more fins."
Adam, you can get wireless carplay adapters that will connect to the USB port on your new head unit. They're tiny and easy to hide and if you don't get a cheap Chinese one, it'll work just like any other wireless carplay setup. They're pretty inexpensive for a good one, too.
As I've gotten older I've realised that top speed means nothing. The torque, sound and handling are everything. That's what feels good.
Agreed. How you go fast is more important than how fast you go on the street.
Agreed 100 percent. It’s nothing like spinning the tires down low. It adds so much excitement.
That's why i'm still driving my manual hatchback with sports suspension so i feel every bump in the road and what the tyres are doing.
