Belle couleur de son, beaucoup de rondeur et de fluidité ! On peut penser à un traverso baroque ! S'il vous plaît quelle est l'étendue vocale de cette flûte ? Merci et encore bravo !!! Christian flûtiste à bec en France
Thank you Christian😊This is so-called “voice flute,” namely alto (or tenor) in D. A minor third lower than normal F-alto, this kind of instrument was much favored mainly in England in the first decades of the 18th century. Typical voice flute has only 1 octave and 6th or so, shorter than other sizes of recorder which were used in England, resulting from the difference of the bore profile of voice flute from ones of them. However today’s recorder professionals use voice flute for far broader repertoire (traverso music and violin music) than it was used in the baroque era, so makers nowadays make them as the enlarged alto. This voice flute in the video is also a big alto, based on Peter Bressan’s originals. Therefore it has 2 octaves and a few notes, the bottom being d’.
Thank you for your compliment! The maker is Yuzuru Fukushima, a fantastic Japanese maker. You can hear his recorder on Pamela Thorby and Patrick Denecker's recordings (both Terton soprano.)
Beautiful! The voice flute is sublime when played well. Thank you!
