hi Michael. Potato salad is one of my favorites (especially with baked ham). I make mine almost like yours except I saute' onion, celery and bell pepper in butter until soft and add them to the salad. Love lots of eggs and Hellmans is the only way to go. Thanks for your recipes. They're so down home.
Thanks for the tip about peeling the ends of the potatoes first. That is one of my favorite parts about watching new recipe videos, everyone always has their own way of doing things to save you time.
I just made this the other day for someone who was struggling. Told them about your channel and hope they look you up. You are such a positive and dear person. Just shared what we had, which wasn't much, but they were thrilled. Some jumbo hot dogs I grilled, baked beans from a can I doctored, cut up carrot and celery, some little mandarin oranges for a treat, your potato salad and a dozen fresh eggs from the chickies. I think it's not how much we give or can afford to give, I think it's the fact that someone cooks for you when you're having a hard time. When I do not feel well, even a cup of tea or a slice of toast Jonathan or our daughter make for me - wow! Seems like the most gourmet treat ever! Take care, our friend. We appreciate you.
Wendy you are such a sweet caring soul. What a wonderful world this would be if everyone were half of your caring soul. Thank you for your comment. ~Michael
My mom would always add eggs in her potato salad, back in the 70's in New York City, and every one thought that was the strangest thing. Too this day I still make it my mom's way. You are the first I see putting eggs in your potato salad. Thank you! Moms are always right.

Thanks so much for this recipe!!!! Just made it turned out great! My first time making potato salad. Hubby texted me he wanted some so I was happy to find out I had all the ingredients already :D
I also like a little crunch of finely chopped celery, sweet red bell peppers which give a nice color contrast as well a crunch to all the rest of the ingredients, and I like finely sliced scalllions, again for flavor and color. I love lots of eggs like you too! I think you can't go wrong with good ingredients and good technique, like not overboiling the potatoes. Like you, I could eat an entire bowl in a day, it's that good. Great video!
@freitasex That's really nice Michael, you are so underestimated.. You should have at least 100 000 views for all videos you upload. You're the best. Please do never stop making videos.

I had problems with the potatoes getting mushy, so I started boiling them unpeeled in salted water, uncovered, then I rinse & chill them, peel by hand, and dice. They don't get half-mashed when I stir them in, and they aren't ever dry or undercooked.

You are very welcome, Michael. I'm a single senior, and I'm relatively new to cooking. My girlfriend of 15 years died about a year ago (July 15, 2016), and she loved to cook for us. She taught me how to make a delicious chicken noodle vegetable soup (starting with a fully cooked rotisserie chicken from the supermarket), and I still make it quite often. I even learned how to make a nice meatloaf (from a recipe here on youtube) recently. And, as I said, I'm very glad I came upon your recipe here for potato salad. It truly is delicious! I 'm finding that cooking is excellent therapy for me, especially after having suffered the loss of my sweetheart, Julie. I look forward to trying more of your recipes in the future. Thanks for responding to me here, Michael. It really means a lot. All the best to you and yours. Dave....

Dave....
Very nice video. I think I will make a batch for tonight! Thanks
I've tried this and made a lot for myself 2 months after giving birth so I have ready food whenever I get hungry and I must say, this recipe is superb.
It was really tasty.

My family's recipe uses dried dill instead of the parsley and relish and it's very refreshing. Awesome recipe!
