Hi Mattias Eriksson, My name is Peter van der Steen. I bought a Honda Africa twin 1100 adventure Sport 4 months ago. To travel through the Scandinavia in the future. Now I am buying my outdoor gear. Well, I can use AMOK Draumr 5.0. My thanks will be great. I hope there will be some more Adventure Motorcycle RUclips videos. I do enjoy that. Greetings Peter van der Steen
Tjena Mattias! If it comes down to my personal preference its 5.0 hands down. Here is WHY. Robustness 1-0 for 5.0. For hard use for regular use over time, Thicker fabric will definietely outlast thinner one. So far nobody has done side by side testing over given period of time lets say 3,5 or 10 years. But thicker fabrics wins. Even forest environment seems like it is asking for tougher materials (think of all those trees, bushes around, branches that can brake down or puncture material. Even certain animals like clumsy philoshopical moose that more often than not seems to be on cloud nine so when your hammock stands in a way it has to withstand :-). Weight. 1-1 (2-0 to 5.0)* this one goes obviously to UL and dont read any longer if you agree. *But wait a minute aren't the tough guys made by tougher challenges. The harder the better. So obviously if u wanna become THE Grizzly bear and win your honey from other bears u have to admit 2-0 :-) No pain no gain. Color choice. 3-0 to 5.0 Colors is all there is. Than why I think 5.0 has better colours offer. Simply because u can blend in with environment especially with green and military green or camo. I feel like in forest the bright and vivid colours doesnt play this much role for rescuing purposes like for example in the mountains where u wanna be found fast by search and rescue in case of emergency. In forest settings most of the time it will work on your advantage to hide and be unseen. Not that I suspect you for stealing all delicious forest fruits and keep it for yourself :-) but it can help u get very close to birds and animals and thats invaluable experience worth the effort of choosing masking colours. Thats ALL Folks :-)
Ha! Valid points 👍. I only have 2,5 years with the UL. Got it before product release and had a prototype for test one year before release. I have had The 4.0 and 5.0 for longer time and conventional hammocks (gathered end) for like 10 years. I have never been close to ripa and of them, but for sure the 5.å feels and is more robust, definitely mor rigida as well when moving around in it. Weight and volume is hard to beat though if thats important.
Great Video tjommi, and so glad you showed the difference between the UL and Normal Draumr 🙌🏻 I get so many questions about this. Will make sure they get over here and watch and enter the giveaway. Of obvious reasons, I don't want to be part of the giveaway 😇 New Adventures soon. Good luck to everyone joining in on the giveaway 🔥
Thanks Tjommi! I'm eager to see who wins! 18 min giveawayvideo, that must be a record 👀😂🙈 but I actually had fun doing this video. A great evening by the shore of lake Vänern, a very anoying but fun squirrel and a cupa 💪🤠🔥☕️🤌 What could go wrong, except from swallowing a mosquito, so I had to cut A LOT of coughing 😅😂 See You Tjommi!
Hi Thomas, I follow you 2. Did you know we have the same word in Afrikaans (Tjom/Tjommi/Tjomma) for a very good friend? The 1st & last is normally used when addressing your Tjomm and the middle one, when you speak of your Tjomm.
Hello Mattias, great information of the hammocks in this video! I’m a single dad from Skåne that hikes as much as I can with my 1,5year old son, as I need to carry him in a child carrier bag I have limited space and we as for now fit in a regular hammock (he sleeps on my chest) I have for the longest time looked at the Amok but just can’t justify buying one with the single dad pay 😂 but I think we should fit much better sleeping in a Amok UL ! As the pack size and weight is a issue for me I should chose the UltraLight version for the reasons above 😃 There’s my reasoning, but whether we win or not thank you so much for the videos, always nice to watch your RUclips to get some good energy from a good guy ! Cheers and much love, take care !
Hi Mattias Thank you for sharing your experience and guide for the AMOK gear. I just bought the Draumr 5.0 for me and Double Draumr for my wife and daughter. I tested the Draumr in my backyard and it was awesome sleep. I'm also anxious to use it in my motorcycle tours. Greetings from Timisoara-Romania.🍻🍻🍻
Ahhh, awesome. Happy to hear that like the outdoors with style and comfort. Cool that the whole family are going to enjoy the Draumr for the outdoor life. Would be cool with an update when you have been on the ride and as well with the family. The Double is amazing and spot on for parents with kids!
Hi! Id like the ultra light in green as a surprise for my husband. Hes been busy renovating our home this summer so hes in need of a break. Im planning a surprise trip for him this fall and this hammock would be the icing on the cake ☺️. Thank you and have a great one!
Since 2022 I own the Draumr 5.0 and kept using it regularly during motorcycle camping I adore it. Nevertheless, I always wanted to try Draumr Ultra Light specifically during the summer camping due to its entirely mesh construction. Great video Mattias keep up a great work.
Hi Mattias. You really have the look of a king 👑 when you sit and chill in these hammocks. If I were to win, I would choose "ultra light" as I value small packing volume and light weight. Keep uploading, and dirt on!!!
This hammock is my current obsession! I am a huge camper from Ontario Canada and have never hammock camped before but I am so interested in this flat setup! There are so many wild camping spots that don't have nice flat tent areas due to our rocky Canadian Shield but lots of trees, so a hammock would be perfect. They are pretty expensive for me so to win would be so exciting!!! If I could pick from all the options these would be my specs: Daumr 5 XL in Camo with matching camo tarp, pole kit, and the Fjol Ultralight XL. Myt fingers are crossed!!!
I would love a Draumr UL considering the fact that I can bring a couple more beers on my future adventures on the KTM. Thank for hours of inspiring content! Looking forward to more.
hi there! Been watching your videos and I really enjoy them. If a win, I will choose the ultra light! I live an camp in a very hot weather and it seems that the ultra light will adapt better to such climate!. I live in a country in which hammocks are even almost in every house, I have one on my house and another one on the beach house! When camping everybody takes his hammock even though some sleep in tent, we use the hammock for relaxing, I rather sleep on the Draumr ultra light LOL… I got the Draumr as a father’s day gift last year and I can say that it is the best hammock I ever sleep in, been hammock camping for more than 40 years, the only draw back only in my case is that after seeing the Ultra light I believe it will be better for the weather down here in the tropics! Actually I bet that my Draumr is the only one down here! If I win, it will be the second one and my wife will really appreciate it!!!!! Keep on with the videos and with this excellent product!
Coming to you from the US and I’m an AMOK Draumer XL owner! Love it! It does get warm though. Actually very warm but is amazing in cold weather. My wife wants one now so hopefully we win the giveaway! Thanks for sharing the video!
The Amok 5.0 seems for me to be the best fit for size, I would love to have one for myself and then visit the swedish forests, travelling from the Norwegian west coast.
HalloMattias, greetings from Northwest Germany. So yes, as most of the commentators I would choose the Draumr 5.0 because on a motorcycle that little bit more weight an volume doesn't make a big difference. Also the privacy issue is a point pro 5.0.
As someone who has always camped with a tent, sleeping off the ground may be easier to find places to sleep for the night. So, with that said and the two systems you are showing. The Amok Draumr 5.0 seems more robust and secure like you claim it is. It looks more comfortable and would be my choice. Thank you for your time and effort doing this review!
Hi Mattias. This year I started riding an adventure bike. I tried out for TET this summer in Sweden and it was absolutely great. So an Amok Draumr 5.0 seems like a great way to spend the night. Christian
Hey Mattias, First of all I want to thank you for your lovely content. I am really into outdoor stuff and motorcycle camping myself and love to see you travelling on your KTM. It gives me lots of new ideas to try out myself. Here in Germany we dont have as beautiful nature as in Scandinavia but you always find a place to hang up the old hammock and enjoy the evening. I wanted to buy me the Amok Draumr 5.0 for a while to replace my old cheap hammock but as you know it is quite expensive. Maybe I will be the lucky winner :D I wish you all the best and keep rocking the road :P
love the design of the amok hammock. My pick would go to the Draumr 5.0 as it looks more sturdy and i don't have the need for the ultra light. Really good video too!
Even for short distance backpacking I would take Draumer 5.0 for robustness and less wind as I'm a cold sleeper 😊 I have known about these hammocks for some time and would absolutely love to get one.
5.0 for sure, I like the heavy-duty stiffer model, I feel like I might break the other one. I would say though, getting in and out is limited to no more than 2 scotch's, after that, it's a problem. More so when you have to piss in the middle of the night. I found the other best practice is to make sure you do not set it up too high...I made that mistake too. While we have a lot of trees (Canada's West Coast - and badass bears) , our typical designated camp spots are cleared of good trees. You almost have to wild camp to ensure trees that can be used, otherwise, it's tents. Cheers, you are a real pro Mattias!
Haha, first time emtying dome bottles with friends was interesting when it was time to jump in to the Draumr 🤣🤣 But with alot of practice i'm not that worried anymore. I recognise this with campings. They are often cleared from trees here as well. You may find a spot to hang in the outlines of the campings. It is definitely best for wildcamping. Our brown bears avoid people , but still, accidents happens. Cheers Shayne!
This is exactly what I needed to see. And you are using just how I would. Need a new ADV tent setup this year and I think the Amok is what I need. The size comparison is pretty dramatic. For me size is more important than weight for moto packing.
The 5.0 would be my choice. I like the increased "privacy" and wind protection, and I don't mind the extra weight. Thanks for your informative videos, Mattias!
For me it would be interesting to experience the heavier version, due to me travelling all year round in different conditions and weathers, but don't bother about the weight. Hammocking is the best!
Hello! Matthias I have been following your channel for quite a while now and I also drive MC. You have made many good films for inspiration and entertainment. If I were to be drawn as the winner of Amok, I would choose Amok Draumur 5.0 normal XL because of my 196cm.
What a great giveaway! Would love to try the 5.0 hammock for my motorcycle trips. Never tried a hammock before but I see great benefits compared to tent camping.
I think the UL would be nice. I usually use a Hilleberg Keron 3 tent because me and my wife travel together on our bikes around the norden. We split the weight on our bikes. But it would be a perfect singel alternative to have when I travel alone. There is not so many windshelters where you can sleep in up here in Norrbotten as it is in south of sweden.
Thanks for a good showing 👍🏻 I've never tried an amok or similar. for me the weight is not a problem so I would probably have chosen the Draumr 5.0. 😊 With kind regards/ Henrik Wikström
The packsize of the draumr ultra light wins out for me. My backback is stretched out enough as it is, and my bike is on the smaller, lighter end of the scale, so every little corner I can cut helps.
I would prefer the ultralight Amok, it would meet my needs really god as an 3 season backpacker . Thanks for an excellent video as always. Stay safe and throttle on...
Great video Only recently I learned about Amok products, they look amazing haven’t seen any other hammock that offers similar comfort. I would love to become a proud winner of the Amok Draumr Uldra Light version.
Great video Mattias! Both hammocks look like great options but for backcountry camping and hiking, the lightweight and compact design of the UL version is the one for me.
Många år har jag gluttat på det där systemet för boende, man blir lite begränsad med tält när man är å åker runt i skogarna. Den stora hade passat mitt ändamål perfekt 👌👌 trevlig kanal att följa med alla äventyr du är på
Thanks for the giveaway, Mattias! I think, I prefer the Draumr 5.0 over the ultralight because of that’s sturdiness. I followed Amok for some time, because I like the overall system. I can imagine how nice it is, to sit in there looking over a see or something like that. And after that having a good sleep. Hejdå!
As weight and volume are both an issue for me (I backpack and bikepack, though I've been thinking about motorcycling since I've watched your videos ;)), the UL version would be my preference. My backpack has a max limit of 12 kilos, which I otherwise end up hitting quickly with the more weighty and comfortable systems or setups where I carry both a chair and my hammock. It's why I've been eyeing the Draumr UL for a while; seemingly a great and comfortable hammock, without going overboard with weight to give me that comfort. I do echo your sentiment on tents in Sweden. They're only really advantageous in places where there's plenty of paid camping sites or you don't mind pitching by the side of some ugly gravel/dirt road.
Im mainly a bicycle tourer and aspiring bikepacker so I went with the normal version. I value durability more than lightness, plus the green is pretty stealth friendly. Outsourced a 15D 4x3m tarp so I can have something close to a winter tarp that way. It came in at half the Skjold’s price, even after ordering accessories that the Skjold has like the velcro and tensioner for the guylines. Weighs in at 700g with stakes, guylines etc. I got myself UHMPWE ridgeline and everything! This might be a lifesaver if something falls onto you, and the tarp isn’t strong enough to hold the weight. The cord definitely will hold at least 800kg, so I can rest safely inside. I’m very happy with it, though disappointed with the cons which most people don’t talk about! Here they are - Hard to find a winter tarp for it - Tricky to get in. You WILL fall sometimes - tricky to get situated in the middle. It’ll be tilted towards head/footend and you’ll wake up having slid up or down. Partially due to the tissue being slippery. I don’t slip with merino pajamas, but I do with all my sleeping bag liners. - Unlike traditional hammocks, this takes up a lot of space under the tarp so it’s not that easy to walk the tarp and cook for example. - takes a while to setup, so I don’t use it as a chair or bed for midday nap like I used to with gathered end hammocks. - Pricey. Especially the UL and with all branded items. Using a 15€ tarp for a while helped me fool myself into thinking it wasn’t that expensive though 😂 - Also, vulnerability. I keep a Morakniv inside my sleeping bag or hanging from the Ridgeline, but still…
For mountain biking and camping I would def go for the Ultra light, it should all fit in the backpack. And the climate where I am living UL mesh would be perfect. Putting up a tent while MTB is a not convenient, the tent ground get damp, it takes time to set-up, find a right place. With draumr 5.0 this would not be an issue.
I’ve been keeping an eye on the Draumr 5.0 for a long time. I got a standard hammock that I like, but unfortunately I don’t sleep very well in it. And even though I thought the Draumr setup would be more bulky than my standard setup, it’s actually not the case. If I get drawn, I’d really like the ultra light. Thanks for the very great videos, Mattias. They always put a smile on my face and make me wanna go riding/mc camping. Keep up the good work!
Hej Mattias, I've never tried sleeping in a hammock during any of my Scandinavian adventure rides, but as you mentioned it would definitely help avoid the frustration of finding a suitable flat piece of ground to place your tent after a long ride. Many of the best wild camping sites along the TET (for example) are next to lakes, but the ground is usually rocky and uneven, so the hammock would be ideal to set up within the trees and enjoy the views. As a motorcyclist, having a slightly heavier and more robust version would not be a problem; and even then the weight of the Draumr 5.0 is probably less than the combined weight of my tent and mattress. /Paul
Thanks for another great video🙏 I Think for me The Dramur 5.0 setup would be the best solution for me. I’m riding an older Afrika Twin (RD07 from 96) and would have loved the Amok when I was riding one week in Sweden this may.
Again a nice video - thank you. I like to travel light and compact with the ADV bike, so I would choose an Amok UL setup for that. And the see-through feature is wonderful. That I would enjoy.
First of all, thanks for the amazing uploads, there have been so many great experiences over time. Almost like being there yourself, 😉. I would choose the Draumr 5.0 it would fit my KTM Adventure perfectly. See you out there, cheers Kim 🍻
I got my '23 KTM 890 ADVR three months ago and I just started researching motorcycle camping gear. A hammock for me sounds better than a tent because it doesn't have contact with the ground which can be full of bugs, snakes (at least in my area) or just nasty mud. I would definitely go for the 5.0, looks a lot sturdier and I'm a big guy.
Thats interesting, i have set up both these hammocks without trees on the ground, just with a tarp pole and the other end to my bike. This just to keep the shape and to use the tarp above. Both above the tree line in the mountains and when not finding trees where i wanted to set camp. Cheers!
Thank you for the comparison! In my opinion robustness is the most important thing and being able to use it the whole year! And let’s be honest: the hammock already is much lighter than a tent that it’s not necessary to save up on a few grams more. :-)
Thanks for the comparison. If I could choose only one, I'd get the regular 5.0. Do you know if a top quilt would work well in a an Amok? on a separate note, I ride a 790 and love it.
Hi, You mean a top quilt used as a blanket? Many actually use their sleepingbags as quilt while sleeping, this since the matress keeps you warm from under. Thanks 🙏
@@geoduch works fine to rather low temps. The underquilt is not needed as traditional hammocker often use as well. Especially if the Fjøl WinterLight matress is chosen. I mostly use the Fjøl UL. I have used traditional hammocks for 10+ years.
I discovered the joy of sleeping in a traditional hamok for the first time last may during my trip to NordKapp. I would love to try the Draumr 5.0. It looks like a very well thought system
Nice comparison of the two options. Both have advantages but I would opt for the ultralight due to the pack size. Thank you and Amok for the giveaway opportunity!
Mattias, so nice that there were no Husbil shots in this video. What a beautiful location to test out some hammocks. "If" I would ever like to win one for FREE it would be the light weight one for sure. I would be nice to compare it with my proven Hennessy Hammock system that I have been using for more than 10 years. I wonder how long the zippers and the rest of the materials would actually last when used often, like 200 times in a year. Keep up the good work and hope you can make some more motorcycle videos before the season is over.
Hehe, thats great to hear. I actually look fwd to some ADV before it gets too cold. I have 10 years experience of hamnocking with a conventional (gathered end) hammock and would never go back in comparison. Go for the win Arthur! 😁🙌👍
Thanks for posting this comparison. After watching the video and reading some of the comments, I think that the ultralight might fit my needs more for summer camping in the southeastern U.S. It has been consistently 35C at least and dry for much of the summer (unusual for our area), and airflow of any kind makes a difference. I have been scouting sections of the creek that I want to camp on for places that are shaded and cooled by the prevailing breezes from the S.W. during the day and the northern ones at night. The ultralight would make it easier to take advantage of both.
Hey Mattias, I have never used a hammock, but i am very interested. As I am traveling with a Husky 701 my choice would be the AMOK Ultra Light version Thanks for your great content Best regards Matthias
Thank you for this comparison, very useful. I think that my choice would be the UL version, due to the packing volume and weight. More suitable for motorcycle camping and hiking.
Hi Mattias!!! Great video as always!! I would like to have the regular one, I think it fits my T7 panniers perfect. I get some pain in my back when sleeping in tent, I think this will be the right solution. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hi! At first I was thinking I would go for the 5.0, due to the bright nights we have up here in the north (during the summer, that is...) and also because of the better possibility for privacy. But, on camping grounds I would probably use the tent anyway and for the brightness there are other solutions and since I'm not a very big guy the smaller UL would suit me just fine. Also, just having to turn the head to see what's around you - that's awesome! 😃👍
Great video. I would be happy with either. They both have pros and cons. The Draumr 5.0 would be best I think for comfort and sturdiness. Maybe like you I would need both. Haha. Cheers.
Hi Mattias! Roaming gravel roads around Gästrikland and the Gävle area, where I live. Also doing longer trips on TET Sweden and Norway and on TuR Nordic tracks. Using a simpler hammock for sleeping on my trips. The Draumur would be grate with better comfort and view. I try to keep my package with less bulk and weight as it´s gives a more enjoyable riding. So I would go for Draumur Ultra Light. Maybe also use for overnight on my hunting grund, even if it´s not that far from home. Braaaap, and hope to see you some time!
My choice would be the Amok Draumr 5.0 for ADV camping on my 1290 Super Adventure, as space and weight is not an issue. I also like the cocoon-like effect of the Amok around me. Thanks 4 GREAT content!
The light weight one would be a great choice when riding on longer trips and when riding with a pillion. Wife, four grown kids, three grandchildren, sons in law etc. It would definitely see some use!
First of all, thanks for another great video! I'm new to the adventure motorcycle thing, so I enjoy the reviews, tips and trix in your videos. I would prefer the Amok Draumr Ultra Light if I had to choose. I like to keep my packing light weight and compact on my motorcycle and fishing trips :).

I would like the UL. My old hammock from DD is totally ok but Amok hammocks look really cool and the position for sitting is great.
Hey Mattias! Hello from Canada. Thank you for the offer of the give away. Guessing I would prefer the 5.0 if I were the LUCKY winner. All the best.

I would choose a normal amok XL with UL tarp and sleeping pad. I weigh +100 kg and would prefer normal sturdy fabric.
for me i think the Draumr 5.0 Xl would be the best, since i am tall. I like the way that you can lay flat and the option to use it as a chair aswell
The Amok 5.0 seems for me to be the best fit for size, I would love to have one for myself and then visit the swedish forests, travelling from the Norwegian west coast.

Since I am more into hiking definitely would prefer the Amok Draumr Uldra Light version.
Keep up a great work Mattias
As someone who has always camped with a tent, sleeping off the ground may be easier to find places to sleep for the night. So, with that said and the two systems you are showing. The Amok Draumr 5.0 seems more robust and secure like you claim it is. It looks more comfortable and would be my choice. Thank you for your time and effort doing this review!
Perfect, i am new motor 🛵 driver, it sounds perfect combination amok and motorcycle for my trips. I prefer the Ultra light amok ❤❤❤😊
Hi Mattias.
This year I started riding an adventure bike. I tried out for TET this summer in Sweden and it was absolutely great. So an Amok Draumr 5.0 seems like a great way to spend the night.
Christian
Hey Mattias,
First of all I want to thank you for your lovely content.
Maybe I will be the lucky winner :D
I wish you all the best and keep rocking the road :P
Hey, I would use it mostly for motorcycle trips. So I would probably have chosen the standard model. Appreciate the movies you make.
The ultra Lite looks to be the great choice for me ,when I going with backpack and ultra lite wersion is smol pack and light
The standard 5.0 would bee perfect for me on some of my travels on motorcycle
Hi great video.
I would go with the Draumr 5.0 XL.
And I like green so you blend in with nature.
I have the Draumr 3.0 and I love it, but I would love to have the Draumr Ultra Light for backpacing
Both look amazing, I doubt a person would go wrong selecting either of these two hammocks
love the design of the amok hammock.
My pick would go to the Draumr 5.0 as it looks more sturdy and i don't have the need for the ultra light.
Really good video too!
Even for short distance backpacking I would take Draumer 5.0 for robustness and less wind as I'm a cold sleeper 😊
I have known about these hammocks for some time and would absolutely love to get one.
Very good demo on the bear burrito😂. Thanks for really showing them in detail. Looked like an amazing spot also.
Bear burrito 🤣😂🙌
Ahhh, happy to hear that! It is a great set up and for sure, size matters 💪🤠🔥😂
Hello! Matthias
I have been following your channel for quite a while now and I also drive MC.
Hi Mattias, great comparison! After seeing the video I would love to have a regular 5.0 for my motorcycle travels! 🥳
Nice video. Amok products are amazing. An ultralight would be spectacular for hiking in California!
Either one would be awesome to have very relaxing I’m sure
I think the UL would be nice. I usually use a Hilleberg Keron 3 tent because me and my wife travel together on our bikes around the norden. We split the weight on our bikes. But it would be a perfect singel alternative to have when I travel alone. There is not so many windshelters where you can sleep in up here in Norrbotten as it is in south of sweden.
Another great review of the hamoks. If I won I would prefer the 5.0 for it more robust build quality.
This summer i tried regular hammock camping. But i normally sleep on the side and i think the Draumr5.0 would be great for me.
Thanks for a good showing 👍🏻 I've never tried an amok or similar. for me the weight is not a problem so I would probably have chosen the Draumr 5.0.
😊 With kind regards/
Henrik Wikström
The packsize of the draumr ultra light wins out for me. My backback is stretched out enough as it is, and my bike is on the smaller, lighter end of the scale, so every little corner I can cut helps.
I would love to try the ultralight set for backpacking trips, I really do not like tents because nature the best to look at!
I would prefer the ultralight Amok, it would meet my needs really god as an 3 season backpacker . Thanks for an excellent video as always. Stay safe and throttle on...
Hej, would love to try the Ultra-Light one! Having only used a cheap, and actually quite bad, tent before. Thanks for the video!
I think for motorcyclist the Draumr 5.0 will be the betten choice.
Great video
Only recently I learned about Amok products, they look amazing haven’t seen any other hammock that offers similar comfort.
Great stuff! My choice would be the UL. Main reason being the see through.
I would like lightweight, looks great to see through.
Hejdå!
I am doing moto adv and camp, but also bike trips. I always like to pack light and small, so I think It is a great choice the ultra light one.
Here they are
- Hard to find a winter tarp for it
- Tricky to get in. You WILL fall sometimes
- tricky to get situated in the middle.
Using a 15€ tarp for a while helped me fool myself into thinking it wasn’t that expensive though 😂
- Also, vulnerability. I keep a Morakniv inside my sleeping bag or hanging from the Ridgeline, but still…
Thanks for your input! There is alot to think about 💪🤠🔥
For mountain biking and camping I would def go for the Ultra light, it should all fit in the backpack. And the climate where I am living UL mesh would be perfect. Putting up a tent while MTB is a not convenient, the tent ground get damp, it takes time to set-up, find a right place. With draumr 5.0 this would not be an issue.
Tjena Mattias!
Long time subscriber and fellow KTM rider from Norway here, a regular Draumr would be so good for this old back of mine...
I have always wanted to try a hammock as it would be quite nice to get the sleeping situation off the ground in many places.
Being a relatively small guy, I always opt for lighter, vs heavier especially the way you highlighted no difference in functionality!
Hej Mattias,
I've never tried sleeping in a hammock during any of my Scandinavian adventure rides, but as you mentioned it would definitely help avoid the frustration of finding a suitable flat piece of ground to place your tent after a long ride.
Thanks for the vid. You cant go wrong with either, but the UL and a few Tensa Trekking Treez looks unbeatable even without trees
Thats interesting, i have set up both these hammocks without trees on the ground, just with a tarp pole and the other end to my bike. This just to keep the shape and to use the tarp above. Both above the tree line in the mountains and when not finding trees where i wanted to set camp. Cheers!
Slept in my friends Amok last year! Best sleep outside I've ever had!
Thanks 🙏
Yes, I meant a top quilt that is often used by people that camp using traditional hammocks.
I'd go for the ultralight because I only use my hammock in warmer temperatures. Great comparison 😊
That's awesome reasons and a conclusion. I just love the UL. Happy Trails out there! 💪🤠🔥
Hey Mattias,
I have never used a hammock, but i am very interested. As I am traveling with a Husky 701 my choice would be the AMOK Ultra Light version
Thanks for your great content
Best regards Matthias
I like the bigger one just for its sturdiness.
Hi Mattias, I have had lots of nights in the 5.0 and it suits me well. But would have been awesome with a set of UL and take my son out on adventures👍
Hi I definitely prefer the Ultralight. Thanks for the opportunity.
5.0 draumr all the way, adv riding and 1 kilo more ,,, I’ll skip a meal a day when riding ! There you go……. Thanks for the demo
Thank you for this comparison, very useful. I think that my choice would be the UL version, due to the packing volume and weight. More suitable for motorcycle camping and hiking.
Hej. Skulle vilja ha ultra Light perfekt när man är ute och kör ses vi kanske på en träff snart.
That sounds like a plan! Home sweet home 💪🔥
I’d go for the bigger, robust one.
Cheers
Thanks for a great video. I would choose the regular version.
Nice information Amok 5.0 look like confortable and easy setup, we miss your trip keep going fan from Morocco
