The original series had 2 different themes, the second one was used when the series moved from black and white to colour, which you could reflect in Doctor Who’s transition to colour. There was also a movie made with Matt le blank which uses a variation on the second theme, you could use that to do a trailer for the dr who movie with McGann.

I understand why this was done as both the Troughton era and TOS ran between 1966 and 1969.
Yep. Although TOS actually started just before Hartnell left, it did indeed mostly run alongside Troughton's time on Who.
