so you just bend it without heat or anything? How does it not break?
I use heat, this is a link the the full series

Hi ! Very good job ! I would like to ask you what kind of aluminum foil and what kind of power supply do you use to heat the aluminum foil for bending violin ribs?
The aluminum fol holds the steam against the wood; the heat is applied with a "silicone heating blanket" powered directly from mains 110V AC power.
So how long did you have the silicon blanket running?
Not very long, about 5 minutes
Quick question, can't you use the CNC machine to cut the ribs out in the exact shape without the need to bend?
probably, but I prefer to bend them.
Can you not use the middle parts of each long rib set as the c-bouts (each being inverted)? In that way you would not need the separate c-bout jig.
not really, for one they are not long enough. It does allow me to bend the upper and lower bout sets for both sides at the same time.
Cool! A rather different way of bending violin ribs. Where do you get the electric blanket from?
I get them on eBay, mine is wired directly to mains but there are in line temperature controllers available.
I've been bending guitar and mandolin sides this way for a while now. Extremely high success rate even with figured wood.
and now try it with deeply flamed maple
This is flame maple, And I bend it for a lot of instruments, It's much more reliable than hand bending, and more consistent as well.
