      So glad you enjoyed it! Yes Azores does have the temperamental weather which people should expect out in the middle of the Atlantic ocean!

    The weather there is very unpredictable at times, my dad's family is from Sao Miguel and they have a saying similar to, " You can't be made of sugar in the Azores. When it rains, You'll melt. " Such a awesome video!! The footage is amazing during the rain and the sunshine 🌞

    Great video. Regarding the Islet of Villa Franca de Campo, during the summer months or the high season there are hourly boat rides to the islet and a beautiful beach where you can spend the day with a packed picnic, a unique experience and get picked up at regular intervals. The Azores are truly beautiful islands. One of my favourite destinations on earth. Breathtaking scenery, welcoming and hospitable locals, great fresh food from the land and sea and very affordable.

    Azores needs always more days, sometimes when there's lots of wind and rain, check the diretion of the wind and visit the parts where the hills and cliffs protect from the wind, usualy if the wind is coming from the sea that's the most exposed part of the island, go to the opposite side. A good jacket or umbrella helps too. The rain can be good to go see the waterfalls. I think some wonderful spots were missed, like in Furnas, taking a bath in hot natural river water is nice while raining, in Terra Nostra or Poça da Dona Beija. Lagoa do Fogo (fire lagoon) needs some luck but you can walk down some 20-30min, near the lake the landscape it's calm and beautiful. Meat and fish in Azores have high quality, in most of the restaurants its usualy at a good price. In the summer the experience is better, beaches and views, but with bad weather there's always museum's to see and hot water to dive in.
    The other islands are smaller but all, even the smaller one with 400 people have jewels to see, landscapes from another world and an impressive heritage to know.
    Thanks for the effort, I hope you all enjoyed the trip even with some wind and rain.

    Natas :-) yumyum. But to fill that hole, you should've gone for a steak, which you will likely still find in abundance all over the island. The best steak(s) I ever ate in my life were at the Associacao, at the Santana part of Rabo de Peixe. "From pasture to the plate" as they put it - which sounds rather cruel; but if you like meat - well - incomparable! --- If you go up to Nossa Senhora da Paz, you more likely than not will see beautiful sunshine down at Vilafranca but be in clouds yourself. 4 seasons in a day has a definite meaning! I'll stick on through the rainy parts, rest assured :-)

    ... to continue commenting: You really haven't been going through Furnas village without visiting Terra Nostra Gardens? One of the most stunning places I have ever had the pleasure to visit, in the Top 3 of the "Mother of all Parks" ranking, from my parks' experience. --- I guess "Santa Barbara" refers to the beach just west of Ribeira Grande from your footage - beware, as there's a village of the same name 25km or so to the west on the coastal road. Lots of names have double usage. --- I look forward to your Farol do Arnel, Mosteiros and Sete Cidades coverage :-)

    Would LOVE to go there! How easy is it to fly from US?

    • @jirik777
      @jirik777 3 года назад +1

      Not a big deal. There is a direct flight by SATA Azores Airlines between Ponta Delgada and Boston, or take a plane from US to Lisbon or Porto, then approx 2 hrs hop to Azores.

    How do you spell the name of the restaurant on top of the mountain... where it says "Porque Passar se Pode Entrar".... You mention something like Lapsa Gardens....not clear.

  • @MS-uj5yo

    What a weird restaurant's request (17:08). It would make sense for any good restaurant not to be secretive about its exact location. Although, you just told us the restaurant's name a few seconds ago. So what's with that?

    Sao Miguel is not the main Island that you fly into when you visit the Azores. Have been to the Azores and have never flown into Sao Miguel. WTH!!!

    • @LogicGal_M
      @LogicGal_M 2 года назад

      Depending on the flight and airline. You may end up in Terceira. Most of the time I land in São Miguel before going to the islands. I’ve landed in Terceira once. SATA will land you in São Miguel from Boston as a layover to Lisbon.
