  • Finalizing this very fun (and educational) project. I love these old vintage British bikes. Working on this one has motivated me to get my 1958 Norton Nomad put back together, and running again, after 40 years of having been disassembled.

If he continues to have issues with that brake light switch MAP cycle has a cheap kit that clamps to the brake rod, and has a spring that goes back to engine plate. Sensitivity is set by sliding the rod clamp back and forth.
Sounds good! I heard a little popping at idle. Might need a tiny bit of balancing the carbs and fattening up the idle mixture for those straight pipes.

Yessir! Thank you Dale for following. Responses (admittedly "early" responses) were that the power seemed way back up, after closing up that massive compression leak around the faulty spark plug. Both cylinders contributing now, vs one lagging. We are doing a nice scenic ride on Saturday through Paint Rock Valley, so's wish us good luck!
