  • Discovering discrepancies in pushrod tubes, tappet blocks, heads, and o-ring configurations, we find out Brad's "new" head does not fit. Thanks to Todd at Lowbrow Customs and his excellent video series on rebuilding a 1968 T120 engine, he takes a moment in Part 10 of his series to go into the changes.
Shoutout and a hefty thanks to Todd

Is there a set of push rod tubes you could have used?

Hey Paulie: I don't know about that. The person to ask specific compatibility questions is Todd, at Lowbrow Customs, or possibly Dirty Shirt Richter (another RUclipsr). That engine had been rebuilt recently, and I'm guessing the owner had oil leak issues, and made the upgrades for the later model tappet blocks, later push rod tubes, and while the head was being machined they just went ahead and counterbored the pushrod tube hole in the head to whatever depth was necessary for it all to fit. That's a pretty easy mod with a milling machine and an angle plate. I asked Brad if he wanted me to make that mod to his replacement head while I had it set up on my mill, but he decided he wanted to keep it stock for its year.

@@JohnnieBravo1I've subscribed. You really need to do your research with these motors. I've been watching(over the years) Lunmad, Todd, Dirty shirt, Wes, and many more..now I've added you.😂
