The movie doesn’t confirm this but I like to think that the men she killed were part of Trout Walker’s gang that burned her schoolhouse to the ground and helped kill Sam and Mary Lou the donkey! That would explain why she didn’t kill Stanley Yelnats the first because he was innocent
I always loved this scene because its truly tells a story short but strong.A once innocent heartbroken woman turned to a wanted criminal but had her reasons to.
Its a hell of a romantic story for a school kid. The ghost of a once innocent soul roaming the earth as a renagade outlaw culling the society that stole her soulmate for the sole reason of being born into the wrong race.
I love this movie. Kissin Kate Barlow and the warden are my two favorite characters in the movie cause they remind me of myself. This movie two me is amazing cause it goes from past to future and it shows how long time ago things were going wrong with the curse and kissin Kate Barlow but than with Stanley the 4th and zero things get better, like when he caries zero up the mountain and they find the gold
I love everything about Holes, the original book, the movie, the soundtrack, and how the storyline's different bits and pieces cross over- it is seriously a genius piece of work. I like the character of Kissin' Kate. At first you only hear of her as this famous outlaw, then you get behind her story and realize this is her revenge for someone she lost.
@therandomzchannal If you read the book then I can probably only tell you what you already know. Katherine Barlow was a schoolteacher in Green Lake in the 19th century (when she looks all fancy). When the richest man in Green Lake killed Sam, the man she loved, she took vengeance on the sheriff for not protecting him, and became a wanted outlaw, Kissin' Kate Barlow. For twenty years she robbed and murdered until she, too, died.
I'm NOT going to condemn Katherine for doing all this. I REFUSE. she was heartbroken, I'm not going to make it WORSE for her by calling her evil. she was heartbroken NOT evil. *sighs sadly* whenever I watch this scene I don't feel excitement or anything like that....... I just feel sadness and an urge to hug her. ;-; the only thing I hear watching her do all that is her heart crying. T-T
@@Lightning-lv4bx Being heartbroken is one thing. Living through seeing the one you loved murdered out of jealousy, having everything you owned and loved burned to the ground because of that jealousy, and having no one willing to stop it all from happening because it's being done by the richest man in town and his cronies is a whole other world of pain and helplessness. And that's not including the issue of skin color, which was the root reason behind it all. It still doesn't excuse Kate Barlow's legacy of hurting and killing innocent people (at least in the case of Stanley Yelnats I), but it makes them understandable.
I always thought kiss kate barlow was bad ass. Getting revenge on all the system and men that essentially screwed over her forever love sam. She was my favorite. Sad story but kind of cool and interesting.
You can’t help but feel horrible for Kate. A young innocent school teacher who fell in love with a black man only to have him murdered, turned her into a murdering criminal. Her long career as bandit was in truth, her heart crying and it was just a long drawn out suicide to eventually die, because she could not live without the man she loved.
This scene was in some of my dreams, besides, wasn't Kate a schoolteacher who lost her true love? She changed from a school teacher to a criminal or an outlaw or both.
The one with lyrics? Is called "I Will Survive" and it's sung by Stephanie Bentley. I'm not sure what the instrumental song is called, but it was composed by Joel McNeely, and can be found on his official website for free download.
I don't understand why people are so mean to Shia, I know he's done bad things but I feel like all actors do, especially child ones like him. I love how cute he is
I use the curse for my family because out of 130 yrs of my family, not one has been successful. I wouldn't doubt that I have my own dirty rotten pig stealing great great grandfather 😒
I like how she Shoots the sheriff, then kisses him. The Sheriff would probably be like "Are you Trolling me?" and then Kate Barlows face is like "TROLLFAIC".
Even though she's smiling she said herself that she's wished she was dead for 20 years. Why do you think she only did things that didn't make her happy?
If you think Abt it the warden is kinda stupid. I mean... Kissin' Kate Barlow was a legend and that tube of lipstick could've gone for hundreds of thousands but she didn't care. That's like throwing away the handkerchief worn by billy the kid.
Shia was such a cute kid in this. Zero is adorable too.
Music to eat Froot to shia was 23
No he was 16 when this was made
Ikr

Does anyone else like when Sam says "I can fix that."
Omg I love it
Sam, my relationships broken!
Sam : "i can fix that"
I do when Sam says that
I love it when he says that
It's like Farm Boy saying "As you wish" in the Princess Bride. It's a great line
I always loved this scene because its truly tells a story short but strong.A once innocent heartbroken woman turned to a wanted criminal but had her reasons to.
😂💋💨
She is one badass outlaw! There aren't that many female outlaws who are tough like that, I love her. Kate sounded real to me, thanks to the author :)
@Emerio Manzano Yeah the O’Driscolls killed her husband.
Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t compatible on the Switch,
But I watched a few videos of the game.
She was a good for nothing criminal, there's no honour among thieves
love this movie i wish they'd make a movie all about kate barlow
same
Me too! She should be a real life outlaw
Kissin Kate Barlow is hot! I love how she's all badass lol
Its a hell of a romantic story for a school kid. The ghost of a once innocent soul roaming the earth as a renagade outlaw culling the society that stole her soulmate for the sole reason of being born into the wrong race.
You could make a movie or tv show on that premise alone

I still remember going to the movie theater on a field trip and watching this with my 4th grade class in early May 2003!!

catherine roberts what about being heartbroken excuses murder and robbery?
@@Lightning-lv4bx Absolutely NOTHING, I'm just saying I feel for her.
You’ll notice too that a lot of the decisions made in her time parallels that of the choices made in the present storyline

She became a death seeker.

Just finished reading the book today :P
I like this movie. But I'm wondering how Zero could know who Kate Barlow is when he can't even read.
GameAddict51 somebody told him dumbass
ZERO gets taught by STANLEY how to read
Somebody probably told him about her. She was quite a well-known figure.
The song playing in the background of this clip is called "I Will Survive" by Stephanie Bentley, and it's on the Holes soundtrack!
i love this scene, brings back soo much memories.
Kate barlow teacher turn outlaw

I would adore galloping across the desert on horse back. I would love to do that. Long live western riding.
1:33 Kate’s Revenge.
Kate's montage kinda gives me Lone Ranger and Zorro vibes
This movie is different from the book
Little by little, yes. But still similar.
For those who don't know what the song was it's I will survive by Stephanie Bentley
@subzero912 that would be epic but the warden would own her sadly because SCORPION POISON NAILPOLISH
0:40 Kissin’ Kate Barlow?
0:42 Kissin’ Kate Barlow.
I don't understand why people are so mean to Shia, I know he's done bad things but I feel like all actors do, especially child ones like him. I love how cute he is
She reminds me of Mapleshade.
Can somebody explain who she is I reAd this in English and why in some pictures Is she all fancy
Magnet wipe that smile off your face... Yes you. Haha classic. 🤣
kissing kate barlow is one bayad mamma jamma aha
It’s sad that Kate Barlow was a sweet school teacher and became a dangerous outlaw because of her relationship with Sam and his death
her relationship with Sam was silenced by racism
That song was amazing.
K.B.= Kissin Kate Barlow
i like this song:)
I use the curse for my family because out of 130 yrs of my family, not one has been successful. I wouldn't doubt that I have my own dirty rotten pig stealing great great grandfather 😒

I love this movie cause kissin kate Barlow
Mixed people cool they down to earth
I'm an assassin and an outlaw and it's called GTA Assassin Redemption
Even though she's smiling she said herself that she's wished she was dead for 20 years. Why do you think she only did things that didn't make her happy?
Ah, good point.
omg....kate is exactly like Lycan Liz from the Nocturnal Series...
@subzero912 not possible. a hundred years apart.
Best book ever
@BoywondeR338 init

WHOO patricia you go girl
If you think Abt it the warden is kinda stupid. I mean... Kissin' Kate Barlow was a legend and that tube of lipstick could've gone for hundreds of thousands but she didn't care. That's like throwing away the handkerchief worn by billy the kid.
