depends on the car, I looked forever to find the clearance on using ls460 brake brackets on my gs400 and an 18 in wheel, ended up just pulling the trigger because I couldn't afford these other brake kits and could always sink the cost of the bracket and return the calipers but couldn't sink the cost of a brembo brake kit of over 1200 bucks minimum. It ended up hitting the wheel weight, but it fit 3/16ths so it was okay after a rebalance and some of the wheels actually got rid of weights entirely.
I like big brakes and cannot lie; just don't like when it's time to start replacing things....Oh hold the phone...you mean to tell me that the EVO, a car that has been out of production for many years is driving (no pun intended) the plethora of et25/35/38 offset on wheels, especially in the 5x114.3 pcd? Is that why I can really only find 17x8 and 18x8/8.5 et35, in stock, vs more et40-48, because they fit the EVO?
Unless your driving on a track, then big brake kits are a waste of time (and possibly dangerous). A set of stainless braided lines will make your brakes feel great and work better than you need. Save the money and spend it on lighter rims and better tyres, your car will love you for it. (Unless your brake upgrade is lighter, lowering your unsprung weight is always a win👍)
@konigwheels unfortunately my personal weight, both sprung and unsprung is way too much, the best thing I can do to upgrade my cars performance is diet and exercise 😃
Well done Scott! Great informative video as always.
