Love the premise told with a sad Eeyore sounding voice. When I play bad, I get Pickled. You were competitive in spite of that. Make less than half as many unforced errors, and you win the match. My experience is the competence trajectory from 3.5 to 4.0 is steeper than it looks and my record of losing to 4.0's reflects it,
That sad voice is my normal voice even though I am generally a happy person :) Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I am always seeking to play against better competition to help me learn and grow
Thanks for the watching and taking time for some kind words. Unfortunately, I had a lot of bad stuff to analyze in this one and hopefully it will be more of do what I do instead of do what I say in the future
I agree with that assessment. The team we played was not close to winning any other games in the tournament and I played very poorly. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment
Good feedback/narrative. Doesn't sound as though you counted the early shots you chose not to go after as unforced errors. I believe they are, as they should have been put away. Always best to be analytical about one's play and you did a good job!
Thanks for watching and taking the time to reply. I did count the leave that ended up going in as error #2. I do believe that a bad leave is an unforced error
Way to put it out there brother. I don't know of many coaches willing to use their own mistakes as teachable moments and I love it. Your partner needs to lighten up a bit :) Where are your bad line calls!?!?!?!?
I didn't think you played that bad at all. Some of the unforced errors, to me you looked late to get to a ready position. Your videos and analysis keep improving with every video 👍🏻
Thanks for watching and taking time out to comment. Drilling is my number 1 game improvement tool and I have several videos for ideas on how to do that.
The volley (from an opponent's drive) you missed at 9:00 I would probably call a forced error, it was hit very low and hard just over the net and not an easy one to handle.
Thanks. Forced versus unforced is subjective and I really debated that one. I ended up going with unforced because I uncharacteristically mishit it so badly (almost whiffed) and have so much time when the opponent is at the baseline line which is probably not a a great argument. If would not have been the worst game I have ever played if the other 7 were that debatable.
Ouch. This hurts to watch, but I appreciate the teaching moments and your explanations of what went wrong. Nice approach to coaching!
Thanks for watching. Hoping to get the next game out so you can see if things get better
Much enjoyed your comments and video. Boy, does Drew have good hands at the net. You're not shabby either.
Thanks for watching and taking the time for a nice comment. We do a lot of drilling hands and can usually hold our own pretty well.

Hi Coach , I appreciate your growth mindset and found your analysis helpful! Thank you for taking the time to record edit and post.

Level of play by both teams was 3.5 at best but still good info by you coach Bill.

I wish I could play this good!
Love your analysis.
Thanks for watching and the nice comment. I believe the fastest way to improve is to drill and I have a bunch of video on that subject.

Thanks. It is a lot easier to critique other people than to do it to yourself.

Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay tuned for more tournament action
I wish that was my worst game at a 4.0

Worst game? Pffff....thats my play every day! Hehe 11-9 isnt a blow out. Dont be so hard on yourself.
Thanks for the kind words and watching
Honestly it wasn’t that bad of a game!
Thanks for the positive comment and watching.
4.0 ? No top spin, no flicks at the kitchen. I could go on! I question your claim to 4.0!
I agree that the worst game I have ever played is not at the 4.0 level. We are in the the 4.0 bracket at the tournament so by definition are 4.0.
