Excellent, clear video for an old duffer Mk2 owner like me..No stupid special effects, no overbearing music, no showing off-just clear, step by step instructions. Thank you! subscribed-will enjoy watching (and learning from) your other Focus vids.
You just saved me £9 at Halfords, thank you sir. Sounds like nothing but it means I can take my daughter swimming tomorrow, you're doing good work. Thanks again.
Hey buddy. Just wanted to say thanks for the guide. You explained it really great, and you saved me. I have my night shift today, and both of my bulbs didn't work anymore. My car mechanic and others didn't work anymore, because it's friday in Germany. So I had to take things into my own hands. Keep up the good work!
Another great and informative video. Oh, the joy of old brittle plastic. I personally would spray the clips with GT85 (with PTFE) to clean and lubricate to ease the removal and refitting, particularly with old brittle plastic, perhaps using another cloth too to get rid of dust/grit/muck on the clips and where they fit.
You have an excellent way explaning things Stephen thank you.I never realised this job was such a Faff for what should be,in my humble opinion,a simple job.Thats progress I suppose !
I come to you for all my Focus needs. Do you have a video on mk2 brakes at all? My brakes were screeching for some time. I had brand new pads and rotors installed and lubricated but still getting the same issue. Its really annoying. Any ideas?
I once had this issue on a different type of car. In my case, the pads contained too much metal and that made them squeak. The noise was worse when the brakes were hot, e.g. after braking a lot on hot days. I had the pads replaced under warranty. That sorted it. The better quality pads were fine. The following link might be helpful: www.stoneacre.co.uk/blog/what-causes-squeaky-brakes
Very clear instructions showing how to. And how much pressure persuasion needed which is very important. Will give anyone the confidence to complete successfully. Well done 👍
@@CarSpyTV They are great cars. We have a 10 plate, 1.6 TDCI on 180 thousand. Still going strong on original turbo, clutch and dual mass flywheel, though the flywheel is a bit chattery. And on occasion we get a check engine light for a stuck EGR, but it always goes away.
That's good going. Our Focus Mk2 is quite a bit older but it's done fewer miles. If you're curious to see the differences, I released a review video a while ago. Link below. ruclips.net/video/Rpn4uN6FlLk/видео.html
Hey, another great video. I love the amount of detail, your videos show. It really makes me realise how I can improve. Thank you, I hope you and Mrs CarSpyTV have a wonderful Sunday, together.
Thanks for the well detailed video on how to change the head light bulb on the focus. I'm like a bull in a China shop but managed not to bust anything. I even had a go at the other light to replace the side light bulb. Trouble was I should have checked that I had a spare in tge bulb set. Apparently it didn't come with those type of bulbs. Good video 😊
Hi Stu. Hope you're well. Some people remove the bumper on a Renault for the same reason. However, they can more easily get access through a removable panel in the wheel liner. Best wishes.
Thank you! Followed your video and managed to change my bulbs without a problem. Really appreciate the advice on using a cloth. I probably wouldn't have bothered and would have scratched my head light.
I need some advice. I've got a 2005 Focus and I was on the motorway yesterday and noticed the bonnet lifting up slightly and shaking about. I think the wind from driving along is going through the tiny slit at the front of the bonnet and lifting the bonnet up. I'm not sure if it's always done this and i just haven't noticed it or if it's done it for the first time yesterday. When I got out, with my finger tips lifted the bonnet, it comes up about an inch before the bonnet latch stops it. -When I was driving I was terrified the bonnet might flip up and hit the windscreen. Haha! Anny advice or have you experienced this problem. I opened the bonnet and there's nothing that seems loose and broken with the bonnet latch ( I don't think anyway) Thanks!!
Found the video helpful, however after following the steps to remove the light I am unable to get it off the car, yours seemed to come out with ease, is this something I’m doing wrong or need a bit of brute force? Thank you

Good point at the begining about being careful with the bonnet release lock. They are absolute crap on the Mark II Focus.
Thanks Tom.

One of the best cars to change headlight bulbs on, we have a MK2.5 in our fleet, beautifully easy.
The Focus has a lot to commend it. We've had the one in this video for 13/14 years now.

Hello there can someone please help me Ford Focus 2008 how to reset the mileage I would like to check after filling up how many miles is it to go
Hi Anika. I haven't made a video which shows that - but I might in the future. Best wishes.
Haha! Anny advice or have you experienced this problem. I opened the bonnet and there's nothing that seems loose and broken with the bonnet latch ( I don't think anyway) Thanks!!
If you let the bonnet fall shut from 18 inches, is it secure or can you still lift it?
@@CarSpyTV After I drop the bonnet 18 inches for it to slam closed, I can still lift up the bonnet about an inch with my finger tips.
Perhaps the mechanism isn't moving freely. If it was my car, I'd clean and lubricate it with GT85 (or similar). Good luck.
Found the video helpful, however after following the steps to remove the light I am unable to get it off the car, yours seemed to come out with ease, is this something I’m doing wrong or need a bit of brute force? Thank you
Hard to say without being there in person, but perhaps a squirt of WD40 would help. I wouldn't be too rough. Best wishes from CarSpyTV.
@ Thank you very much for the quick advice, will give it a try thank you
YOU ARE AWESOME
Thank you, Dennis - and best wishes from CarSpyTV.
Good vid
Thanks.
Thanks.
You're welcome.
nice video ...
Thanks Jon.
@@CarSpyTV My Pleasure ... got me to the bulb ... alas it isn't just a bulb issue , still broken with new bulb :(
That’s a pain. If the problem is caused by a faulty headlamp, you can easily get a replacement on eBay. Good luck.
Dep beam is h7 right?
The Focus in the video takes an H7. Best check your specific car, though.
Easy drivers side. What about the passenger side?
It's much the same.
ive read youve got to remove the wheel?@@CarSpyTV
On our 2005 Focus, I've replaced countless bulbs on the nearside without removing a wheel.
Yes, just watched another video. Just 2 clips again. Thats a relief.
Just done both no more than 10 mins for both Cheers👍
I work at Halfords and i hate that hard-to-see clip , anyway anyone who sees this wouldn't have to see my mug and you can do it yourself lol
It can be tricky to spot! Best wishes from CarSpyTV.
lol
Very helpful. Thanks 🙏
Glad the video helped, Amanda. More to follow.
