I always remind people that while the pedestrian may have "right of way" on their side, the moving object you're about to step in front of has physics on its side... one will win in the moment and the other "may" win later 🤣
One of the driving instructors (driving school is mandatory where i live to obtain a drivers license) i had the plessure to drive with used to say: "It won't help you when the inscription on your tombstone says _but he had the right of way_ ". Wise words to live by.
One rule that gets me is pedestrians have the right of way. Good rule, but poorly implemented! So, the pedestrian does not look both ways; they step out in front of a 4000lb vehicle because they have the right of way. Well, you can be right and dead or take a second, use logic, and be alive.
My Kentucky hillbilly husband was visiting down in Florida and was driving home on a backroad a little too over the limit when he was pulled over by a policeman. He handed him his KY license. The policeman said, " Sir, I suspect you have been drinking, can you say the alphabet backwards?". Without skipping a beat, my husband said in his best hillbilly drawl, " Ive only been to school two days in my life and both times it was to stand in for my brother." The cop couldn't stop laughing and escorted him home.
That would have been my moment! Long ago, during busrides to school each morning i taught myself the alphabet backwards as there was not much else to do when standing in a bus for 45 minutes. I can still do it, but i never had any opportunity to use that "ability" 🤣
Uphill has the right of way simply out of courtesy. Because its much harder to start again if you stop when going uphill. But it becomes pretty clear pretty quickly when its just not going to happen due to the speed of the downhill rider. Dude needed to look up and get out of the way.
I love this guys comedy, no one tells a story like him, I can listen to him for hours.
He has the Irish storytelling skills/genes! I’m jealous! Tragically I didn’t inherit this gene. Or skill.
Saw David Nihill live in DC - looking forward to seeing again!!!

His pacing and delivery is so on point. I'm pretty sure with his skills he could read a phone book and make it funny.
This guy is hilarious 😂
...I wish he came to cities like Detroit. I had to drive to Ann Arbor to see him, well worth the drive...

I thought only the germans love rules 😂
Our Germans are better than there Germans,, ...Eisenhower...
a country with HOAs seems to love rules - or more to control if other people follow the rules
Mexican-Americans definitely wouldn't be mountain biking
Those are German rules. "Bergfahrt hat Vorfahrt". Up before down. Same with cars driving on the wrong side. Just saying.
The comments discussing right of way are as funny - people are taking it seriously 😂
Pique defenitely got tired of Shakira😂
