Tosh asked about the tunnels under the road. They are for the animals. Highways built in areas with a lot of wildlife were planned to accommodate the wild life . The roads are lined with fences to keep animals off the highway. The animals find the tunnels to get to the other side of the road. We love your show! Thank you so much for sharing your adventures!

Watching your video took me back 45 years to the Western vacation that my mother took me on as a high school graduation present. We were traveling in a 1971 Buick Sportwagon loaded with a cabin tent and camping equipment as we camped every night of that 30 day vacation with the exception of five nights that we spent with cousins in Fremont, California. We followed old US 66 as closely as possible from Pontiac, Illinois to Los Angeles, then followed the Coast Highway (US 101) from Los Angeles to San Francisco. We returned East via Las Vegas, Nevada; Reno, Nevada (Harrah's Auto Collection) then dropped down to the Grand Canyon, returning North to visit Denver, Colorado and Colorado Springs as well as Rocky Mountain National Park. Then it was North to the Badlands of the Dakotas, Mt. Rushmore, the Corn Palace, Wall Drug, and back home to Illinois. I didn't have the company of siblings as I was an only child, but I am certain that your children are going to have memories of this trip to last a lifetime. I repeated this trip as an adult thirty years later in 2008 driving my Cadillac Eldorado Convertible towing my 1978 Argosy Minuet 6.0 Metre travel trailer. Memories of traveling the open road are some of the best. . . . . . . .
I am so enjoying y'alls trip. You're making memories lasting a lifetime. It shows the vastness and natural diversity of this great country. And all that in a true, 31 year old stationwagon that keeps on going! Thank y'all for sharing this great experience. It brings back many great memories of my own trip.

Thank you so much for taking us with you on your trip. My husband and I are both enjoying seeing the scenery we would never have seen had it not been to your videos. What a fun trip so far.!
Serious note: I've been watching your series of vacation photos and remembering these places that I also saw in the last several years. It's great to see you all having a good time and enjoying our country with enthusiasm and awe. With all the crazy news lately (I'll try to avoid politics as much as possible), it's refreshing to see a normal American family and loves each other out enjoying our country. I feel like the heart and soul of our country is being destroyed little by little...and the American family along with it. It's also great to see you working on cars with your kids, getting them involved and teaching them, but having fun along the way. This is a wonderful thing and very important. Many kids will never have the type of relationship you have with your kids. I'm sure as they grow older, they'll recognize this (if they don't already) and understand just how lucky they were to have you and your wife as their parents. When I saw that scene where your wife was crying at the sight of the Grand Canyon, I shed a few tears as well because it gives me a little more hope for our future. Lately, I don't have much hope for our future due to all the things politicians are doing to destroy it. Anyway, don't change. Not sure what else to say, but thank you. Oh and by the way 43:09 🤣🤣
I cannot tell you how much this trip will mean in the future. I took a similar journey with my Mom and two younger brothers for three incredible weeks, mostly camping, through California and the southwest. Being from the northeast, it was truly like another planet out there. The memories of that trip made watching this video really enjoyable. I hope that wagon holds up and you all have a happy and safe return.
Please let Wawa know that you definitely can still take a train across the country on Amtrak. The Southern route covers a very similar route to what you drove to get out there, and the Northern route goes through Chicago. It takes about three days from New York to LA.
Yes you can. The Northern route in summer, Southern route in spring or fall. A train trip across America in a sleeper car is a tad expensive BUT it will be an experience 10 lifetimes could not offer a comparison. 🙂
Dang. We missed you. We were on our way to Missouri in June and on our way back to California before the 4th. Heck, we may have passed ya.😮😊 I'm glad to see that you all are enjoying the trip.
Let's go home because the new shop is calling. And thank you for the journey loved the Gand Canyon and the Roswell experience, and as always God bless you and your family.
Your great cross country trip in an Oldsmobile station wagon reminds me of the trips my mom, dad, and brother would go on every few years. Now you have me planning a trip form Ohio to California in my 1957 Oldsmobile Fiesta wagon that has 109,000 miles on it. After I get vintage Air unit installed after seeing the amount of very hot weather you have gone through.
Love from England. Totally emersed in the road trip with your family. That car is the perfect vehicle for comfortable travel, plus carry all. Can't wait for the next chapter, drive safe.
I have traveled to' and worked in Maddisonvill, TN. many times. I was working there when the 100% solar eclipse happened a few years ago. That was a bit more breath taking than the Grand Canyon but not much. :)
Thanks for letting us viewers tag along on your adventure of a lifetime! The scenery is amazing. The station wagon really turned out to be a great roadtrip vehicle. The family is enjoying something many people will never get to do. I wish you all good luck on the rest of your journey and thanks again for providing entertainment that beats anything I've seen on tv or cable lately and is simply a joy to watch.
Been dying for the next one! God bless your family i hope yall have/had the times of your lives. Im 18, youve inspired me to take this trip with my girlfriend in a couple years. I’m gonna do it in a squarebody suburban 😜
That was an absolute blast. That was fantastic footage. I felt like I was there with you. I even started having trouble breathing with you going back up hill. Take care and God bless.
Another feature length episode of your family road-trip, some amazing sights you'll all remember for a life time enjoying every minute here in the UK that standby car has done you proud.
Thank you so much for sharing your family vacation with us. I'm 56 and disabled 3 years and I waited to long to be able take your vacation I wanted to take my wife on. Now we can't due to medical bills. And now wife is in need of a new new. I GOT AWAY for watching! Thank you! I remember as a kid taking a 70's Vista Cruiser on vacation to DC and many to Myrtle Beach SC. Great memories.😊😊
What a beautiful trip so far. I flew over some of those places on commercial aircraft, jets and helicopters but never on the ground where it is most beautiful. What an awesome way to see the American west. Thank you for taking us along on this amazing trip. Be safe and enjoy the remainder of your trip.
I'm really enjoying the virtual trip I'm taking with your family. You've been to so many places I've been on road trips, even the same Love's gas stations. Heber, UT is such a beautiful little town. I'm glad you included it. Your videos aren't short and I take the time to watch it all because your family is so enjoyable to be with (so to speak).
The videos you take are awesome! I always end up watching several times, first to listen and watch what you're doing then eachother times to see what everyone else is up to. I can't travel right now but is like going along with y'all.
There is so much more of the Grand Canyon you did not see. The Northern rim you can stay in cabins for as many days as you would like. The sites are unbelievable. It is so beautiful.
I have to say that your editing on this series is top notch. I've never enjoyed watching somebody else's vacation, even close family member's, like this. Even if I can't get a cool wagon for a steal of a deal like you did, this makes me want to take my family out in whatever would make the trip. Keep up the excellent work on this!
I am enjoying the videos so much!!!. Can't wait for the next one. Are you going to share the entire route you took? That would be very cool; something I would like to do with my grandson!
You talked about the food Ralph could eat. We raised two boys, from the time they reached twelve until they graduated high school and went to college all we saw of them was their butt hanging out of the fridge door. They can eat, and we loved every minute of it.
I really enjoy the car videos, but this road trip has been something special. Every stop has been more breathtaking than the last. Can't wait to see Yellowstone.

Dear Sleeperdude family 🙌 Hooray, another simply great video about this iconic family trip! 👍👌👏. Actually I was running out of superlatives already after watching the first video. Yours country is soooo incredibly fantastic. All those unbeliiiievably wonderful canyons, all the different nature itself etc.p.p.. Tosh, absolutely love your laugh. These vacation videos are bringing a huge smile on my face. My husband and I wanted to do this with an RV, but he passed away before we could. So happy you all did this trip, so many memories for you and kids. ❤😊
Thank you so much for taking us with you on your trip. My husband and I are both enjoying seeing the scenery we would never have seen had it not been to your videos. What a fun trip so far.!
Glad you enjoyed that
Serious note: I've been watching your series of vacation photos and remembering these places that I also saw in the last several years. Oh and by the way 43:09 🤣🤣
Thank you, we try to do our best to raise them
I cannot tell you how much this trip will mean in the future.
Ok awesome thanks
Yes you can. The Northern route in summer, Southern route in spring or fall. A train trip across America in a sleeper car is a tad expensive BUT it will be an experience 10 lifetimes could not offer a comparison. 🙂
Thanks for taking me along on a trip of a lifetime❤
Dang. We missed you. We were on our way to Missouri in June and on our way back to California before the 4th. Heck, we may have passed ya.😮😊
I'm glad to see that you all are enjoying the trip.
I've been wanting to do that cross country train. The drawback for me is it starting in New York City.
Let's go home because the new shop is calling. And thank you for the journey loved the Gand Canyon and the Roswell experience, and as always God bless you and your family.
🤣🤣🤣
Your great cross country trip in an Oldsmobile station wagon reminds me of the trips my mom, dad, and brother would go on every few years. Now you have me planning a trip form Ohio to California in my 1957 Oldsmobile Fiesta wagon that has 109,000 miles on it. After I get vintage Air unit installed after seeing the amount of very hot weather you have gone through.
Yes that would be cool maybe go in fall or early spring
Love from England. Totally emersed in the road trip with your family. That car is the perfect vehicle for comfortable travel, plus carry all. Can't wait for the next chapter, drive safe.
The best picture Josh took was at 2:29!
Thanks for taking us along!
One day the Sleeperdude88 children will hopefully be able to duplicate this awesome trip. Thank you for taking us along 🙂
Thank you.. that would be awesome
Thank you for taking us on this amazing trip of yours!
Love from Romania🤟
Glad you enjoyed it!
Josh has that precious pup laugh cracks me up. Thanks for the entertainment all of you.
That’s funny thank you
Preteen, I visited Zions National Park with my best friend as a guest on their family vacation. It was one night and two days. Unforgettable.
That was in the mid to late 1960's. It has changed A LOT!
Awesome
We loved it! Really enjoying the vacation. You guys sure know how to have a good time. The wagon is doing great. Looking forward to the next one. 👍👍
Thank you
Been dying for the next one! God bless your family i hope yall have/had the times of your lives. Im 18, youve inspired me to take this trip with my girlfriend in a couple years. I’m gonna do it in a squarebody suburban 😜
Awesome thanks
That was an absolute blast. That was fantastic footage. I felt like I was there with you. I even started having trouble breathing with you going back up hill. Take care and God bless.
🤣🤣🤣awesome thank you glad you enjoyed it
Watching these road trip videos is the most fun without leaving my house I have ever had.
I hereby grant you "Sleeperdude and family" the Golden prybar award for best family vacation videos !
Another feature length episode of your family road-trip, some amazing sights you'll all remember for a life time enjoying every minute here in the UK that standby car has done you proud.
Glad you enjoyed it
Glad everything is working out for you all this year! Seeing a lot of beautiful sights! Thanks for taking us along!
Thanks for watching
This has been a great series with you all taking us along for the beautiful scenery
What A Great Video.. Another Awesome One.. y
You All Are Having Such A Great Time.. Safe Journey.. God Speed..
Thank you
What a beautiful trip so far. I flew over some of those places on commercial aircraft, jets and helicopters but never on the ground where it is most beautiful. What an awesome way to see the American west. Thank you for taking us along on this amazing trip. Be safe and enjoy the remainder of your trip.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love seeing all the cool places. Thanks for taking us along on your vacation.❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed
I have been to the Grand Canyon many times. One of the first few times was in the winter time, and it started to snow, What an amazing sight to see😊
So cool. Thank you
Thank you all for including us. I really enjoy everything is this video. Education and humor not excluding beauty tips hehe
This is the best thing on RUclips. You taking us places we can't go. Glad you giving this to your family and your RUclips family.
I appreciate that thank you
I'm really enjoying the virtual trip I'm taking with your family. You've been to so many places I've been on road trips, even the same Love's gas stations. Heber, UT is such a beautiful little town. I'm glad you included it. Your videos aren't short and I take the time to watch it all because your family is so enjoyable to be with (so to speak).
Thank you so much
The videos you take are awesome! I always end up watching several times, first to listen and watch what you're doing then eachother times to see what everyone else is up to. I can't travel right now but is like going along with y'all.
Thank you that really helps
Loving the road trip videos its so cool to see all the awesome things
More to come!
There is so much more of the Grand Canyon you did not see. The Northern rim you can stay in cabins for as many days as you would like. The sites are unbelievable. It is so beautiful.
Awesome thank you
I have to say that your editing on this series is top notch. I've never enjoyed watching somebody else's vacation, even close family member's, like this. Even if I can't get a cool wagon for a steal of a deal like you did, this makes me want to take my family out in whatever would make the trip. Keep up the excellent work on this!
Glad y'all are having such a good time and making all those memories. Another great video with great scenery. Can't wait until the next one
Thank you
I am enjoying the videos so much!!!. Can't wait for the next one. Are you going to share the entire route you took? That would be very cool; something I would like to do with my grandson!
Yes I will try to put that in the last video
Keep them coming sleeper love it mat uk 🇬🇧 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you Mat
No thank you for your real car Chanel. Your the best on utube by far mat uk
@@Scrapmanuk1cant agree more
Amen to that ❤️
You talked about the food Ralph could eat. We raised two boys, from the time they reached twelve until they graduated high school and went to college all we saw of them was their butt hanging out of the fridge door. They can eat, and we loved every minute of it.
That’s funny
I really enjoy the car videos, but this road trip has been something special. Every stop has been more breathtaking than the last. Can't wait to see Yellowstone.
Glad you like them!
After the first night sleeping on the floor I can’t believe that Ralphie didn’t insist on buying an inflatable mattress.
He’s good with it
@@SleeperdudeRalphie's self sacrificing for the family is a testament to the kind of man you have modeled for him, Josh. (And the kind of man he will surely mature into.) Strong Christian values on full display. Imagine what this country would be like if ALL families had such leadership!! May God continue to bless and guide each and every one of you!!!
Josh almost getting in a gunfight in a cowboy hat and flip flops right away... I knew this was gonna be gold! 👍
"Leave it as it is. You cannot improve on it. The ages have been at work on it, and man can only mar it." -Teddy Roosevelt on the Grand Canyon
I laughed for a good 5 to 6 minutes at Mama fussin' at Josh with the drone 🤣🤣🤣 I had to pause it and calm down before hitting play again 😂
She’s hates it 🤣🤣🤣
I get it mom, I am tearing up as well. It's nice to see that there are moments we can still call America. Bless you all and thank you for taking us with you. I hope the moments of camera were extra special. Thank you thank you thank you.
Thanks guys! I was born and raised in Utah. I was drafted into the Army in 1971. I've been to many of the places you've visited. Photos can't do the Grand Canyon justice. It is breath taking. I live a few miles from the Bristol Motor Speedway now. I've been here 32 years. The humidity is the price we pay for all the beautiful green. I love it here in East Tennessee.
There is nothing on TV compares to the show you gave us. A marvelous genuine family. So nice to watch.
You have well reared kids as we say in Ireland.
Thank you we are blessed
Dear Sleeperdude family
🙌 Hooray, another simply great video about this iconic family trip! 👍👌👏. Actually I was running out of superlatives already after watching the first video. Yours country is soooo incredibly fantastic. All those unbeliiiievably wonderful canyons, all the different nature itself etc.p.p.. Even your great grandchildren will still watch your fantastic videos about this trip.
It was a nice surprise to see that Josh, the pistolero, was picked by the guy at the western show. The canyons are sooo overwhelming, that I can hardly think of anything else. In Germany we also have a lot of interesting places, even volcanoes and volcano lakes etc.. But of course all in a much lesser scale. North America respectively the US are immensely big. Congratulations 🎉 for having the opportunity to see a lot of it.
Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing your great adventure.
Best regards, luck and health to all 5 of you. 💚💚💚💚💚
Great trip. You guys will have such great memories. Maybe in the future your kids will have families of their own and recreate this same trip and bring back the great time you all are having. Not a dull moment so far 😂
I feel like Ralphie is getting to that age where he, too, will need his own pry bar! It's a right of passage!😂
Just wanted to say thanks for sharing your trip with us. I realize now that its not about the cars, although I do enjoy watching yall work on vehicles, but its more about your relationship and how you interact with each other. Enjoy this time as they grow up quickly!
Glad you enjoyed it. We will be back on the cars in no time!!
God Bless America!
Thank you
This planet we live on has so many beautiful things to see and do.
We do need to protect it thoug. 8 billion of us share it and we all have to take care of it. It’s the only home we have.
Be safe guys! Happy trails!
@sleeperdude What an absolutely gorgeous video with an amazing family! This is somewhere I would love to visit & am so so jealous of u & your family, I’ve traveled all around Europe but never ever have I seen such beautiful country. I’m subbed & liked from Birmingham England 🏴 UK 🇬🇧 😊
Tosh- "it is not a bath" Josh's response should have been "Tosh, have you never heard of scrubbing bubbles??"
Y'all, I really appreciate you taking us on this trip! So Far, the only thing I have seen that you showed, was TN and GA, After that, it's been all new to me. You should have enough pics now to fill up several albums. But like the Atlas, thy may be hard to find too!
