Hello Doug and Ashley! I'm one of your fans that you left in Michigan. Lol! For a fellow, "why can't we all just get along" theologian, and as a well-oiled 30 plus years experienced mental health professional, let me add my voice to the majority of your viewers. There are some people who thrive on stirring up discontent. We don't need to understand the why, because there are lots of individual reasons. Let's just say those are one of the 7 things that God hates (Proverbs 6). They will have to determine their own fate. But you and Ashley and your kids, just do what you love. Your not harming anything and you'll never be able to make everyone happy. I love your channel and I love the way you think things through. Do you! Don't worry about the thems.

Are you familiar with The Linen Railroad? Nathan Reynolds & family out of the Ozarks? They have a neat channel & website with similar values & goals as your family. You might want to check him out. He has great ideas about living a healthy life, especially by wearing linen. I never knew linen had so many health benefits. Linen and wool. That's just one small aspect of his content. He also has an incredible testimony. You might be interested in that too. He is a wealth of knowledge.

No matter what you post I will watch your videos. It's your channel so it's your choice. Ashley and Doug work extremely hard for their money. It's their choice how, when and where they spend it. Besides, I am actually focused on how, when and where I spend my money - I definitely have zero reason to be concerned about anyone else. I admire and respect how such a loving and hard-working couple accomplish so much while raising 2 children anyone would be proud of.

This is just an idea, but if I owned the mobile home (and had the money to do this) I'd put all new siding on the home and keep the old siding. Then I'd wash and maybe repaint the old siding and use it to build a car port and a shed to house a riding mower and some tools. You might get higher rent if you had those things on your lot. But I'm not trying to tell you what to do with your property, it was just a thought 🙂
Edit: you could also use the old siding for skirting.

I saw the original and re-watch the edit. I appreciate all you have done over the years. It has shown my husband and I the potential a model home can have, and it's what we are looking at to purchase and redo to be our dream home. Remodeling isn't easy but watch you videos shows anyone can do it if you have the time a patients!!!! ❤
And the skill! Not everyone has the needed skills to do this.

Tracy, your comment all of a sudden reminded me of how funny they can be. Like that time Doug surprised the viewers by suddenly standing up covered in mud from head to toe including his face. He asked Maverick for a kiss and Maverick said, "No! Youre nasty!" 😅

Thinking of that mobile home you upgraded in Indiana. Looked great after you worked your magic on it. I think rebuilding this mobile home will build great equity for you. Keep up the good work! Been fixing houses and barns for 50 years and I still learn from your videos.

I grew up living in a mobile home the first 9 years of my life, so for me, it's nostalgic.
10:27 My ex husband and I also owned a 1970's mobile home for over 3 years, sold it, bought another, sold that one too, and eventually bought a house.
I loved the Indiana mobile home ya'll refurbished as well. That one was so cool. And the Michigan home was really nice after you went and did it up all perdy.

I like what your doing because my daughter has an old mobile home too, she can't afford to buy a more updated one banks will not loan money on mobile homes and she has no money except to do work on it a little at a time ppl don't understand that some ppl think everyone is made of money, like oh why waste your money fixing it up or why don't you just get a new one??? Good for you to ppl that can afford it!

I watched this last night going to let it play for views... sorry you get so much grief on the back side of sharing and transparency. Y’all are great! Keep being genuine. Love the content. We have redone mobile homes in our lifetime and helped our kids at a young age, get out on their own, without having to rent expensive apartments. Home ownership comes in all shapes and sizes. I’m not sure what happened and why you felt you needed to edit your original video that answered even some of my never asked questions. However I assume it was over negativity. I don’t comment often, but I have watched every single video you have put out and always look forward to your perspective. You do things differently and by watching, hearing and learning I have looked at my own things differently. I enjoy your knowledge, your creativity and always eventually seeing the vision in your head come to life. All that being said, please don’t listen to trolls or negativity or let them change you. I know you aren’t big on endorsements or other stuff - but maybe consider doing a patreon account or membership for your channel. That way you can share to those that are truly interested and vested and not have the response of so many trolls when you decide to share your ideas. Thanks for sharing this FREE content and allowing us into your lives. You work so hard and anyone who can’t see that especially when they are watching you for free - shouldn’t be allowed to comment in my opinion

The tiny home I’m building has white painted aluminum skin. It had more mold than yours has. I sprayed a mixture of 1 gallon sodium hypochlorite (SH) 1 bottle of Dawn dish soap, 1/2 gallon of tide laundry soap. In 10 gallons of water in a 12 volt electric sprayer (the kind used so spray chemicals on a 4 wheeler. Using the wand sprayer I made several passes on the trailer (the worst places a little more, the better places a little less. I didn’t scrub it . After a few rains it looked really good, not as good as if I scrubbed it but took the main gunk off of it.
When I mix the chemicals I do it outside. Directly in the tank some water already in the tank, I use the nozzle of the sprayer wand stuck in the tank to mix it. Then I add more water to the tank. (BE CAREFUL NOT TO BREATHE THE FUMES, SOMETIMES MIXING CLEANING CHEMICALS CAN BE HARMFUL.
SPRAY UNTIL ALL THE CHEMICALS ARE GONE AND THE TRIPLE RINSE THE SPRAYER TANK AND RUN CLEAR WATER THROUGH YOUR HOSE AND SPRAY WAND.
DO NOT SAVE ANY OF THE MIX. IF YOU NEED MORE LATER MIX A NEW BATCH.

I was looking at the TPO Membrane roofing for flat roofs. It would probably install well on your roof and its white to reflect heat and has a 20-30 year life. seems pretty interesting if you can get your roof in shape to accept it you can just glue it down or they have peal backing type.

Yes I agree. I told my children it's cold here in Florida they live in the north cold snowy area. They laugh at me. I have pants, a coat a sweater and a jacket on it was cold to me.

Always good to know alternative ways to cut lighter metal as some folks can’t afford or justify the nibbler tool, but if had I’d sure use it! I always use my angle grinder since it’s so fast. Small pieces I use my shears.
To the @diyfferent: may you find the strength to ignore the trolls this upcoming year. You do you. I appreciate what you share and am in awe of many of your projects. I had been wondering what your intentions were with the investment home. I appreciated the insight and took it more as a “this is what we’re thinking now”. Life is a fluid situation, things come up, things change, heck Ashley might get pregnant this year and it could change a lot of decisions 🙃.
The only thing I wish that would change (I know it won’t), is to see Bell and her artwork more. Your kids are your mini mes and I just find that adorable.
