HAPPY NEW YEAR TO THE HARDEST WORKING, PROBLEM SOLVING COUPLE ON RUclips! I replaced EVERY screw on the outside of my moms mobile home. It's not a job for the weak at heart!😂 Have an amazingly blessed day!
Blessings on you for helping your mom!
I love the way Ashley is always there anticipating what is needed. She has whatever Doug needs, when he needs it. Great teamwork!
Yes, most couples trying to work on a project together end up perturbed with each other!
Doug you do what my dad would call
“ Belt & Braces “ repairs, meaning you do it RIGHT every time 👌🏻, is real good practice and example for anyone doing home D I Y 👍🏻, fix it good and do it once, do it badly and your be back again & again .
Doug you and Ashley are awesome. I love how you are redoing everything that needs it and when it is finished it will look like all your other ones fantastic as always. I would be proud for anyone to live in it after you two are finished with it.
I don’t know the first thing about carpentry! But I love watching your channel
Doug, I love how you are a perfectionist never do anything halfway. When you said you were gonna replace all the screws on the outside of this place, I said to myself. Oh, that is ambitious but that’s Doug. He’s not gonna halfway do anything. Awesome job Doug.
I'm so glad y'all started posting so often! This will grow your channel quickly!! Doug and Ashley, would you please add links to the products you use? I could really use that filter mask Doug uses to mow my dusty lawn! Especially in July and August. And that metal repair stuff would be perfect for some projects around my house. If you were close to me, I would gladly give you my checkbook and my vision of what I need and leave you to it. Your behavior toward your neighbors and the kindness you've shown them inspires trust. Love you guys!!!
We'll try to be better about adding links. Sometimes we just buy stuff locally and that may vary by area. But we'll try!
My mask is quite expensive as it is a professional grade equipment. I would suggest something else for mowing. But it's called a PAPR (powered air purifying respirator). There may be some cheaper, easier options available for that.
Thanks!
When I watch you I just can’t help thinking how wonderful it would be if everyone worked with your ethical work ethic!!! Just thinking. Sigh.
So so satisfying to see all the rot and ick removed and nice clean wood replaced.
I enjoy the way you guys work. “Little strokes, fell big oaks”
Every bad spot is focused on. Repaired with the highest quality of care and workmanship.
Glad you are using the strapping. When this project is completed, you will be able to feel the quality and structural sturdiness when walking thru the door.
I look forward to watching your progress on a regular basis. I, also, like learning the tips of repairs.
Love it when I see a new video posted
I do as well, they go by too quickly........I need at least hour long videos on this project.....
The mobile home is already looking 100% better. It at least looks clean and sanitary and structurally sound.
I was watching closely to see if the wall moved at all when you cut the first strapping. It didn't budge at all. That new strapping is carrying the load.
Thank you Ashley and Doug! I appreciate your videos!
Me too! For some reason (even though I'm a subscriber) RUclips was not showing me when you had a new video. Now they've put them in mixes so I can watch several in a row!
I still remember that basement wall you replaced, an insanely monumental task. Repairing this trailer should be a walk in the park by comparison 😊.
Yep! I still regard that basement wall project as the hardest project we've ever done.
Good morning to our favorite construction crew! Have a blessed and healthy week! Hello, Belle and Maverick! Miss seeing you two! Very much enjoying the trailer remodel. It's looking SO much better already! Sending love to all from PA! ❤
Every little repair, every correction, every fresh stud, square of flooring, and new window adds up to a wonderful improvement. I’m really enjoying the process.
Step by step, little by little, you're turning a worthless trailer into a warm and comfortable home for someone. Your patience, creativity, innovation and diligence are remarkable. And the videography and editing skills create enjoyable entertainment for your subscribers. Thanks. I hope this new year is another great one for you. 😊
If I was going to build a home, I would hope to hire DOUG to build it!!!! Doug and Ashley do great work. Doug, you are a solid trustworthy and talented innovative builder!!!🙂👍
Thankyou for the more frequent videos. They are a pleasure to receive.❤
❤💯👍🙋♀️ me too
Take it from someone who has lived in one of these homes for years - insulate excessively! It will save so much in heating and A/C costs in the long run.
I really like watching this rebuild.
I can't wait to see what you do with the trailer. Doug has always impressed me with the quality of his work so I know it will be good. You two make such a great team. Ashley seems to either be cleaning the work site up or helping Doug but it seems like you have a good system. Thanks for sharing with us. Phil
Did you see the one in Michigan! Absolutely stunning, left me speechless. They both do amazing work.😊
I have watched them since they fixed up their home in Kokomo. I guess that means the trailer project now is the 5th place I have watched them fix up.@@nancyking7133
Good morning beautiful people
More great progress you two! 👍
Anything you do is absolutely 💯 % done, right.
We try at least.
This house will be better, and stronger than before.
Y'all are spoiling us with all these videos!
Looking good Mr Doug & Ms Ashley!! A little closer every video
The mobile will be super sturdy once you’re done. You do such quality work!
Thanks!
#EVERYONE, please remember to hit "👍" and subscribe!!
🎉 Happy New Year, @DIYfferent!! 🎉 Wishing you and yours, many more wonderful blessings and happiness, all throughout the year!! 🎉
I don't care about what anyone else thinks about it, but I really love and appreciate, how much y'all talk and explain everything to us and would love it, if y'all did more of them, but to each their own, I guess.
❤❤❤❤ Much Love and Hugs to you both and to your two wonderful kiddos too! ❤❤❤❤
Happy New Year!!!!🎉 my husband commented: Doug is doing it right!!!
You guys play some nice music!!
Doug and Ashley. Thank you for taking us on this journey with you. Keep. Doing. You! 🌵🌻🎶
Love the quality of the work you are doing. Strapping is going to become standard in the industry after this! LOL!!! So great to see the steady progress!!!
Boy Doug!, you’re making this part of home repairs look easy. Which I know is not true.
Good job folks
Take care
Doug, I'm curious. Where did you learn all your building/tools skills? You're so competent and thorough.
I appreciate that. I am self-taught, but I take an interest in building and that makes learning easier. I just do the best I can with the abilities that have been given to me.
@@diyfferent Bravo. Well done.
We have always seen you go the extra mile, so to speak, in the renovations you have done. You are so thorough and careful to make the structure solid. Ashley, just want you to know that we see you working in the background during the times that you aren't by Doug's side. It is clear that you two work as a team all the time and that is inspiring. I also see Stan supervising, which makes me smile. Wishing the best for you in 2024 and we will be watching.😊
It would be kinda fun to set up the camera at one end and have Doug (with air helmet on), take the leaf blower and blow all the junk off the walls and floor! As he’s working I’m just itching to see all that debris gone! Great progress 👍👏
Awesome fix of the damage on the outside. Always learn something new watching you both.
Great work!!! You have many ideas up your sleeve in your renovation, no doubt!!! 🥰🎶❤️🇨🇦
Excellent, so smart and knowledgeable. Thanks for sharing.
Great idea on thee strapping. As always, quality content!
Loving the more frequent videos!
Now I want to replace all the screws on my siding on my mh I just love this channel
Wow! That strapping is a stroke of genius, Doug!!
And so....the DIYfferent Saga continues! Yea-yah!😊
Impressive teamwork, as is Ashley and Doug's norm. There's definitely no 'cutting corners' here - do it correctly the first time so no worries. If Doug was a Home Inspector in my area many builders would be looking for new careers. Many new homes have been determined to be uninhabitable due to shoddy construction. Peace-of-mind re the home for your family is priceless. I would prefer to purchase this mobile home over 99% of the brick homes I have recently toured. Well done Ashley and Doug!!!
I'm watching you work as encouragement to keep going on shiplaping our vestibule and realigning the front door. I am 73 yr old lady.
By replacing or those rusty screws you're giving it longevity. Great Job
Always a great job. That strapping looks strong and is a good idea. 👍
behind the slice in the siding, you really need to back that up with another piece of siding - cover the extent of the slice by at least an 1 1/2 at ends as well as above and below. like 3” x 10” piece should suffice. attach with a waterproof construction adhesive. replacing all the screws is a worthy undertaking, but I would recommend using a larger diameter screw. the washer headed screw is also a plus but over time using the same size screw will be detrimental. It looks like existing are #8 screws. You want to use at least #9’s and preferably 10’s.
Looks great! Love watching you kids work on the homes. Lots of ppl in our family are in the construction work over many, many years and so I truly enjoy seeing how you approach things and am sure many get lots of ideas and fixes watching you. Love your ingenuity and get it done attitude as well. Keep at it and before you know it you will be putting up walls and then you'll be on a run. Happy New Year and hope it's a good one for everyone!!!!
I'm just loving all these videos. Thank you.
If the space were left open it would make a really nice shop!
You should go ahead and wash the outside of the trailer. That way if there is a gap or leak, you will find it before you do any wiring or any insulation. White vinegar kills black mold. Clorox does not kill black mold.
I enjoy how often you are putting up these videos. The progress is evident..way to go
Y'all did good. That strapping is awesome.
Oh, my word. Taking out all those screws will be a massive job! I took the screws out of all my skirting one time and it took forever. Same type of screws of course.
Here in Alabama I would see car tires on top of trailers. I wondered what in the world. A gentleman told me it was to eliminate (oil canning) effect . The wind blowing across the roof made go up and down like a wave and caused horrible noise . He also said if it did this at a joint it could cause a leak.
High winds, generally. Sure would make the place hotter.
If anyone sees the excellent rehab on this home, they will be begging for you to sell it to them
We bought the same strapping when we were redoing the framing and siding on our trailer……great minds think alike……😂
Trailer is looking good
Bye Ashley 😊 it should help the walls stronger in winds too. Thats going to be one solid trailer.
The future of this mobile is looking bright already. A key component I always notice is the teamwork u guys have. Doesn’t matter what it is, seems each person shines with what they know or do best. In todays world u guys r so refreshing. It’s not just DIY but it’s also the ingredients to a balanced and healthy relationship. Love the sharing of the responsibility. Great strides being made.
That mobile home is going to be the strongest built home in Florida 😊😊😊😊
Really enjoying this series of videos and what you have done with your home as well. As you are fixing the floor, have you put any thought into raking and cleaning those areas under the trailer while they are easier to get to? May save you some time later on and allow you a cleaner, safer work area for the times you will be running electric, water, and other items under there in the future.
We're trying to keep it clean, but we'll just go through sometime and clean it out good.
Safe and secure. It's great to have peace of mind of where you are living. You guys always do the right stuff. Love ya all! God Bless, Granny
Loving all the videos.
Thank you. ❤
ASHLEY!!! Get that broom so you and Doug can sweep all that dirt out of the way so you guys can work in a cleaner space.
Y’all are such hard workers! Best of everything in 2024! ❤
Wow ! it’s impressive! This is the first time I’ve seen tension straps on the walls. Very good work !
Interesting and informative videos. I always wanted to know how mobile homes were built.
Making progress! Looking good!!
Am I thinking too far ahead to wonder if, some time in the future, this could be a home for Belle? Sadly, lots of young people these days have given up on the idea that they will ever be able to own a home.
I didn't even know tension straps existed...😊
Doug, the quality of work that you and ashley do is so awesome. What is so appreciated in watching is When you see something that needs to be fixed to take it to a step better in fixing it. I lived in a mobile home with metal siding many years ago. I guess I'm really amazed at how little there is to a mobile home. When we lived in ours, it was 7 years old. Here minnesota I just remember how cold it was, I had a baby and I just remember the lower two feet were always so cold. Is this common for there to be such a big space in between the supporting under the plywood on the floor?? I guess that kind of shocks me how they make them. You and Ashley like someone said in the comments. Here are the most hard-working people couple that I have ever seen. You're not only redoing this home. You're making it so much better so much more strong and stable!! I always look forward to every video I don't always comment on everyone, I always look forward to every video. I don't always comment on each one, but I haven't missed one yet. I'd like to say if I was one of your mom's. I would be so proud of your workmanship and your character and and your family. Happy New Year!! Bless you, Doug, Ashley, Belle and Maverick. Although bless all the little creatures and insects your children have fun with. You're the best.
Seems like things are moving quickly
your really completing & repairing all old damage,
You make it look so easy on this build.i think the neighbor will love the work your doing better view now 😂
Well, i was looking at a mobile home ,but it needed fixing. So i didn't buy it. So if i find another one in the area i want to be, i will know how to fix it. Saving all your videos on how to Renovate a mobile home.😊
Sometimes you need to do something that brings you satisfaction. It doesn't have to make sense to anyone else.
So glad you are going something to make it stronger!! Super!
For a quick dirt removal you might try a leaf blower. Then a spin mop with vinegar water for a non toxic clean. Looking forward to what you will do with this mobile.
Yay another video! Looking forward to more on this place
Hi Ashley and Doug, great teamwork as always. Looking forward to seeing the progress
Y'all obviously enjoy diy, and I enjoy watching. I hope y'all have a great New Year. ❤😊
It looks so much better already. We lived in a double wide for years. It's interesting to see how a manufactured home is put together.
Hi Family,
Wow all new screws all around the mobile home is amazing, (I done that also to my moms mobile home)
It took me forever 😂. You guys just know how it’s done and done right!
This is so exciting getting to see you guys more often. I’m loving it! Keep doing you and we will keep
watching my friends!
Say hello to Belle and Maverick, miss seeing them sometimes. Have an awesome rest of the week!
Stay safe and God Bless ❤
I’m really enjoying you renovation project. ❤
I love your comon sense...
Not so comon 😂. Y'all bless me...I send God's blessings to you excellent ppl.....hugs
good morning hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year God bless you guys
They don’t celebrate Christmas. They can have a blessed and Happy New Year for sure.
I learn so much from your videos. The best though is your videos give me the courage to attempt some remodeling on my own.
Thank you
Please understand, I’m very OCD and I want you to clean the cobwebs and dirt as you work. I want to sweep the floors🤦♀️. Can’t help it. Love you guys. Diann👵🏻😁
LOL. I'm not very OCD and I want to do that, too. I'm assuming it's because of a lot of years as a housewife being responsible for such things and because I don't have the talent to repair that they do.
haha yea, it's a mess, but once all the rot is fixed, we'll do a major cleaning of the place :)
This trailer is going too be heavy duty thru out . But after watching you for a few years now I know you always go above and beyond and take pride in your work ! As you should. You both are great role models for rebuilds and kids.
It is amazing how many things you think of that can help strengthen this old mobile home. It will be better than new when you finish. Y'all have a Blessed day.
Great job folks, love watching your videos, your getting closer to your vision ❤❤❤
Enjoy watching my u-tube DIY videos #1 blessings Doug and Ashley also family!!!
Happy New Year 🎊
Keep up the good work. You guys are just so simple, normal and realistic. Keep up the good work and simplicity.

Great to see your thorough approach. You’ve got some great skills. Happy New Year!
Thanks guys, I’m learning so much from your videos. And gaining more confidence to take on repairs needed in our home.
