    Doug, I love how you are a perfectionist never do anything halfway. When you said you were gonna replace all the screws on the outside of this place, I said to myself. Oh, that is ambitious but that’s Doug. He’s not gonna halfway do anything. Awesome job Doug.

    I'm so glad y'all started posting so often! This will grow your channel quickly!! Doug and Ashley, would you please add links to the products you use? I could really use that filter mask Doug uses to mow my dusty lawn! Especially in July and August. And that metal repair stuff would be perfect for some projects around my house. If you were close to me, I would gladly give you my checkbook and my vision of what I need and leave you to it. Your behavior toward your neighbors and the kindness you've shown them inspires trust. Love you guys!!!

    • @diyfferent
      @diyfferent  8 месяцев назад +9

      We'll try to be better about adding links. Sometimes we just buy stuff locally and that may vary by area. But we'll try!
      My mask is quite expensive as it is a professional grade equipment. I would suggest something else for mowing. But it's called a PAPR (powered air purifying respirator). There may be some cheaper, easier options available for that.
      Thanks!

    Impressive teamwork, as is Ashley and Doug's norm. There's definitely no 'cutting corners' here - do it correctly the first time so no worries. If Doug was a Home Inspector in my area many builders would be looking for new careers. Many new homes have been determined to be uninhabitable due to shoddy construction. Peace-of-mind re the home for your family is priceless. I would prefer to purchase this mobile home over 99% of the brick homes I have recently toured. Well done Ashley and Doug!!!

    behind the slice in the siding, you really need to back that up with another piece of siding - cover the extent of the slice by at least an 1 1/2 at ends as well as above and below. like 3” x 10” piece should suffice. attach with a waterproof construction adhesive. replacing all the screws is a worthy undertaking, but I would recommend using a larger diameter screw. the washer headed screw is also a plus but over time using the same size screw will be detrimental. It looks like existing are #8 screws. You want to use at least #9’s and preferably 10’s.

    You should go ahead and wash the outside of the trailer. That way if there is a gap or leak, you will find it before you do any wiring or any insulation. White vinegar kills black mold. Clorox does not kill black mold.

    Here in Alabama I would see car tires on top of trailers. I wondered what in the world. A gentleman told me it was to eliminate (oil canning) effect . The wind blowing across the roof made go up and down like a wave and caused horrible noise . He also said if it did this at a joint it could cause a leak.

    Doug, the quality of work that you and ashley do is so awesome. What is so appreciated in watching is When you see something that needs to be fixed to take it to a step better in fixing it. I lived in a mobile home with metal siding many years ago. I guess I'm really amazed at how little there is to a mobile home. When we lived in ours, it was 7 years old. Here minnesota I just remember how cold it was, I had a baby and I just remember the lower two feet were always so cold. Is this common for there to be such a big space in between the supporting under the plywood on the floor?? I guess that kind of shocks me how they make them. You and Ashley like someone said in the comments. Here are the most hard-working people couple that I have ever seen. You're not only redoing this home. You're making it so much better so much more strong and stable!! I always look forward to every video I don't always comment on everyone, I always look forward to every video. I don't always comment on each one, but I haven't missed one yet. I'd like to say if I was one of your mom's. I would be so proud of your workmanship and your character and and your family.
