Ms. Bonnick, congratulations on a 5 star video. As a Canadian and longtime Cuba-phile your information is accurate and up-to-date, full of common sense. May I add one further bit of explanation. MOST of the hotels are owned and run by the Cuban military and ergo the Cuban government. Thus, you as American citizens cannot stay there. Casas particulares and AirBnB are wonderful experiences as you noted. My own comment is to you about the color lines in Cuba. In a way just as Obama did, you and your family give hope and inspiration to those of color in Cuba. Many Cubans without family abroad live vicariously through intelligent travelers like yourself. WELL DONE. Cheers from Canada
❤️❤️
The Cubans will likely take your dollars because the Black Market rate for dollars is much more valuable than their pesos. They also will have little change for your dollars so bring small denominations (no coins).
The Black Market: While officially illegal, everyone in Cuba uses it. They are LOOKING for your dollars and Euros for a lot of reasons. Many Cubans are leaving the island and need hard currency. It’s the only currency they can use outside of the island. Artists, mechanics and other clothing vendors will buy supplies from other countries using mules (people who bring these supplies back to Cuba) but they can’t use pesos.
Exchange Rates: Cuba’s banks and “Cadecas” (Casa De Cambio) will give you 120 Cuban Pesos for each dollar or Euro, minus a 10% tax (Cuba plays these games). However, the Black Market will give you 185 Cuban Pesos per dollar and more for Euros.
Try to ask your Casa Particular owner if they can do this for you, it’s a common question (it’s the safest way). Be discrete…do not ask them in front if others.
Do not money exchange on the street. Trust me, it’s a bad idea.
Also: You can usually get this Visa or “Tourist Card” at the last airport flying directly to Cuba. Verify this first with your airline.
Also: The Cubans will generally STAMP every passport unless you ask them not to.
Have Fun! Watch out for the women who will approach you claiming they don’t want money but rather powdered milk for their babies. It’s a scam!
@@christopherp.hitchens3902 Thanks for your comment man! Question 🙋🏾♂️, an an American how long can we stay in Cuba at a time?
@@HumbleHampton - Sorry for the delay: You can stay up to 30 days at a time but I think there’s a way to get 90 days. Personally I have never stayed more than 3 weeks. Good luck!
@@christopherp.hitchens3902 ok my friend which best place to stay there?havana?is safe to hang out there?
I thoroughly enjoyed the video; this was very informative!I always wanted to go to Cuba, and God's willing, I will be planning a trip in the near future! Thanks a lot!
Please do! You will love it!
Great video and informative. I am planning to visit Cuba and have a few questions, did you arrange your transportation through your Airbnb Host ?
Can Americans just travel to Canada and fly from there, or do they still need a visa? I'm from Ontario and I'm trying to plan a vacation with my Wisconsinite fiancé.
@@DDRWakaLaka You can do a round trip from Miami with American Airlines...I had to download the app for clear details because web versions were not working...
Americans can travel direct to Cuba under one of the 12 categories. The categories still apply when traveling from a third party country.
I watch travel videos all the time but it’s hard to find good ones. This was so direct, to the point, and informative. I like ur style. Thank u!
Hello Bonnie family, thank you for answering all my questions about 🇨🇺Cuba. It was beautiful 😍 can you send me the name of your bnb also. Love the history and the classic 🚗.

This is too much for me. I'll go to other countries..I don't have the patience to do all of the stuff needed to do.I love just hopping on a flight and move freely...Panama,take one 😅😅😅..
Then again am a guyanese by birth so i can get my guyanese passport which means no restrictions nor visa is required 😁😁
Guyanese? Wow!! It seems like a lot but it’s actually quite simple. But you may be able to go freely. And yes. Panama is beautiful!
Asking for money? Wait until you get to Indonesia. Wow😮!
When i landed in Cuba from Canada last year i was surprised to see that Santa Clara had 3 flights a day from Miami.. I'm not sure if there were many Americans at our resort though..
Blessings!❤
It seems safer than some locations for investment.
for investment? 😂Houses are super cheap now, everyone is fleeing
Yea just be careful which locations you pick
Thx for the information.
❤️
Thank you. I would love to go one day.
You should! You would enjoy!!

Im going November 13th. My gf already booked a hotel. She is coming from another country. Will that effect me?
Did you download a VPN before using the Wi-Fi in Cuba?
No
Is there a way to manipulate your itinerary so you can actually do tourist stuff like chill on the beach and not feel so restricted, or do you have to have receipts to match every activity on your itinerary?
Thank you so much for sharing this information. Very helpful!
Thanks for a great visual and informative video. I intend to go this year and this helped me a lot. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing
❤️❤️
Thank u so much for this info we are planning our trip to cuba for nxt year
Didn't prez trump reverse some of the easements of the obama era?
Tyler Mac I’m going too Havana
Very good defining. I’m thinking about going
Excellent video! Do you know if people from other countries need to apply for one of the 12 exceptions traveling to cuba from Miami? In few words, even if you are not American , do you have go comply with the us rules? Thank you
Other countries can travel as tourist. You who’s need to look up the requirements for the country. Americans/permanent residents must travel under one of the exceptions.
If only i found this - before my week of researching - did u not visit the beaches? Did u not use a tour guide?
Yes we went to the beach. You have to check out the other videos on Cuba on our channel.
Cool video.
Nice
🎉🎉🎉
Did you need medical insurance to get the VISA?
It was included in the ticket
Thank you@@thebonnicks
Many other videos have said that nobody in Cuba customs will ask for the Medical Insurance and they were never questioned about having it or having to show proof. Can you verify this claim?@@thebonnicks
❤❤❤
Very Informative! Shoot, support for the Cuban people is right up my alley because those are all the things I try to do when I travel to any country
I can see you planning a trip already😂
@@thebonnicks LoL...I didn't know about that visa - I knew about the one for artists (which I claim to be in my other life...lol)
What do they ask you at customs when coming back from Cuba
They didn’t ask any questions
