I got to ride in my uncles Learjets. He had a 24B and a 25D model. That 24 was a screamer. Didn’t really need a seatbelt on takeoff . You couldn’t stand up. We were coming back from Dallas in the 25, and at about 40,000 feet, we did a aileron roll. Best ride ever!!!!! They had a great run. Thank gosh they’ll be around for awhile.
Lear 60XR was my favorite. 10,000 ft climb from brake release in less than 90 seconds. To maintain 200kts we had to hold a 30 degree deck angle. Sea level to 410 in 7 minutes. Climbing out of FL300 indicating M.80 still climbing 4,000 ft/min. And the handling! What a beast!
Also loved the 31 and 35. Flew the 45 for 5 hours…nice but not a real Lear. Every time I flew a Lear I just felt exhilarated and like a true man. Great aircraft. Sad the line has ended.
Thank you so much for giving us some great history news of a great aircraft.
thank you for tuning in Lemard
As always, very informative.
Amazing video! Tks
Great video bud. Long live the Learjet !
Excellent review! I’ve been waiting for the Learjet review! I think this is a great entry jet purchase. Can you do another review of the history sales, maintenance, and engine overhaul information? You do an excellent job of conveying this information. Much appreciated.
A strategic planning video is in the works! Be sure to subscribe so you are notified when we post a new video. Thank you for watching!
thank you so much, we are planning on incorporating airframe and engine maintenance facts
Wish You could make a dedicated report only about Lear 55/60.
Fun fact: Several years ago I heard a jet flying over head, I looked up and it was a Lear Jet 34 or 35, and I've never seen a Lear Jet since.
Why end the Learjet production? It’s a beautiful plane. It must stay. Long live the Learjet!
Great aircraft unfortunately more technologically advanced a/c at lower price points basically pushed the Lear out of the market
The difference with Learjet was development with private funds whereas Lockheed, Rockwell and McDonnell 119 were all financed on the coattails of lucrative military contracts.
All true - but very sad. They had their day in the sun! I was so very happy to fly them - back when. 23's and 24's. Go fast - Go high - Make contrails!
Just don't plan on going too far - or - Carry very much. Just the way it was back then. "Climbing to 240 - Looking for higher!" Remember?
Wait…this isn’t Richard Gere?
I was looking for this comment to see if it was just me who thought that! 😀And to the creator, great video, thanks!
always miss learjet
This is great! And the song is a jammer.
with 18,000 hrs in lear jets i can say most of your research is weak at best. Seems most of real history will be lost
