It shows just how connected we are to these platforms which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but just something that was brought to the forefront for me. 2:35 - This is by far the best part of the platform 😮💨😮💨 Being able to just have conversations & post full size photos (in either orientation too!) where I can also have the ability to easily share to IG very easily through stories. It’s just amazing

How do you search up topics? Like on Twitter I would search up "Anthony Davis injury" And I would see people posting about it. Does this have the same search feature????
It isn’t twitter firstly so best not to directly compare them, hard I know as there is a lot of similarities but meta will try to make it slightly different. That being said I suggest you follow adam mosseri on threads as he is outlining the road map in updates as threads which may answer some of your questions
Glad o found this vid actually explaiining what this is, all other videos are just sensationalism about fight with Twitter and such. But honestly, the amount of data collection one has to agree to is a dealbraker for the EU and for me. I mean tik tok has the worst reputation when it comes to data collection and privacy intrusion, but even that is allowed in the Union. Sounds like a big red flag to me. The way I view the data collection issue is, they have this info anyways and truly why does it even matter what data they have about me ? I know I’m not influenced by the things I’m shown on socials because I’m too busy creating content rather than focusing on what companies are using my data for. Just my opinion of course and everyone has the right to care about the personal info, I just don’t care all that much.

You can upload in landscape and they are looking to enable landscape viewing in an up and coming update. despite your reservations about phones. it's where most people will look at your work so yes. its good for photographers, to post and to communicate and be part of a community of creators.
On the home feed there is a mix of those you follow and those you don't, i have already found some new creators and friends ! so definitely can find new people.
If they can make it where they have trends public for whoever wants to look & see, threads (optional) for friends or public viewing, & private messaging It’ll be great.

Your homepage is effectively your explore page for now. It’s a fresh app give it time. The more you interact with the home page / creators the more specific content you’ll see that you like. It does work. Spent the day on it to test it and I’ve spoken to creators I didn’t even know existed and creators like Pm have replied to me which they haven’t on other apps, so I guess it’s how you view. You can take the route if nah it’s new I won’t bother or, go try it and learn something new and be social. Regardless I hope you have a lovely day 🙏

You need to learn to trust people who aren’t sell outs! I only talk about things I believe in and I disclose when I get paid for a ad and this is not one! I think it’s a great place for community, it’s so infuriating that people think this.
It’s instagram, threads is a bi product of instagram it’s even in the name threads by instagram. The same way if you delete Facebook you can’t message people on messenger. You can just delete the app don’t have to deactivate it. If I don’t like a photo on my feed I archive it I don’t deactivate my account.
If this is Meta's redemption for photographers, I'm in. They took that part of Instagram away and nothing was ever the same. I just don't use Instagram anymore.

Facebook has billions of users. They bought Instagram. Then they named the business Meta, and now all of their users just click a few buttons via Instagram and are set up for Threads. So it's an easy transition without a lot of sign up hassle. All the cool people will still be on Twitter. I'm not even bothering with threads. From what i see, it's exactly Instagram in a long layout. Twitter is breaking news and world events, Instagram is people who find themselves attractive and pretend they're having amazing lives.
@@Opticalwander Deactivating is not the same as deleting and there is a specific message on the app that states that if you delete your Threads account, it will also delete your instagram account.
I have a fantastic life, do as I please, go anywhere I like. I have a nice life too. I also look at my phone sometimes, doesn’t mean I don’t have a life.

It’s being rolled out across eu slowly. Some places in eu have it some don’t currently.

Very uncertain how a mobile-only app is good for photography, as it means everyone will be looking at the photos on tiny screens in portrait mode.

but theres no way to get natural followers? The only people we can see are our insta followers unless we know their usernames?

Because meta has 2b daily users on average across each of its current platforms even with only 18% coming over it’ll be bigger than twitter.

Be careful! You can't delete your Threads account without also deleting your Instagram account. That may be one the points that goes against EU laws.
This isn’t true, go to settings - account - deactivate profile - deactivate threads profile.
