- In today's video I'll be telling you my SECRETS in drawing portraits in Procreate! I'll be walking through my steps of drawing portraits along with some tips that helps me out in improving my portrait drawing. I'm using Procreate for this Portrait tutorial, but feel free to use other apps as well such as Clip Studio Paint and Ibis Paint X.
I'm drawing San from Ateez for this portrait tutorial! I found the reference from Pinterest and I thought it would be a great portrait reference for this video's tutorial. I also talk about some of Procreate filters and tools that you can use to enhance your portrait! :D

Brushes I use in Procreate:
- Narinder pencil (sketching)
- Basic Airbrush (soft shadows)
- Blackburn Brush (rendering)
- Wet Sponge (Smudge/blur)

HI I’ve been drawing digitally for like 2 years but my skills are still at a beginner’s level, if you could please tell me what words to look up for simple references like the one you used it would be A TON of help. Also your videos are the only thing keeping me from not quitting semi realism so thanks

Do you use pinterest? And if so, what kinds of words do you usually search to find references there? I usually use google but i dont find much lol 😭

When you do the shadows how do you figure out the colour please help
I pick dull colors first (e.g. dull red) b/c I apply more vibrant color later

When doing the first lineart with the brownish brush, how do you get your lines so smooth?
I adjusted my Blackburn Brush setting! I think I have the screenshots of my setting somewhere in the community post

For stroke path: spacing to 5%, no jitter and fall off
For stabilization, only adjust stabilization amount to 15%, the rest to 0
For taper, pressure to max, size to 17% and the rest to none
For shape, rotation to 0%, count to 2, turn randomized and azimuth on
For grain, scale to 1% and depth to 33%
