I do my own as well. Though, my hair is 90% white, so I can play with fashion colors. Back when I was working in a salon, my favorite thing to do was drastic color change.

I want my hair color to be like yours ( before not even after)!! My hair is darkening and using darker overtone did not help! Last year I had a balayage but with henna & overtone it is dark now 😢 I will try the overtone bleach and your technique to get some ombre and lift it a little!!

Hi Queen! I would love to see a video about using different oils on the hair like coconut, jojoba, etc. When to use which and for what benefit. Right now I mainly use them to detangle my hair on washday and maybe using some on my scalp. Hope you cover this topic :)

I actually recently bleached my curls (Barbie movie, had to be done) and thanks to your videos Mell, I feel super prepared to care for it and keep it well toned! I now have bond builders, pigmented shampoos and moisturizing treatments in my routine which were never required for my virgin hair that never even saw any heat before. I haven’t noticed any negative changes to my curl pattern, more so dryness that is now better suited to being styled with more cream stylers. Loving my Barbie moment!

I saw spent 3 years growing my gray hair and all the brown has been cut off. I'm going through menopause if I went to get my hair blond will it break off ? It's fragile but I feel the gray ages me😢and with brown hair my temples are gray in 3 days. You're hair look good

I was told coloring my hair would cause my hair to stop growing as fast. It didn’t bother me because I went from shoulder length to waist length hair in a year several times. Actually kind of wanted it to slow down. Didn’t happen so I to have color frequently or allow the color to grow out more before recoloring due to time and money I normally let it grow out a bit before recoloring.

Absolutely love it 😍 I have naturally dark brown hair as well & besides one totally messed up balayage done by a “hairdresser” I've never really strayed. I'm starting to get some greys which I've just been root dying with a semi-permanent. I wish I could dye my own like yours or had a hairdresser in my family, too much $$ & maintenance for me with upkeep 😢

What brush were you using? Looked like a painting brush. I did this myself a few months ago with a normal highlighting brush and it was difficult to use.

Do you have any advice for those that have super fine hair that only takes a few mins to lighten? by the time I've done my whole head, the parts i started with would be too over-processed. Thinking of doing it in two sessions.

I'm impressed! I think this look to your old blonde suits you best. Most of my hair is salt and pepper now, so I've been using demi permanent for 2 years. I use light ash brown, which comes out like medium brown with some highlights where it's light gray. But those highlights really only take at the roots. I follow the directions and leave the dye on the ends for 5 minutes. About once or twice a year, I will cover the whole head for the full time because it's become very brassy even with blue shampoo.. Are the ends more resistant to changing the color as a result? Do they get more saturated? What would happen if I put highlights in and continued to use demi permanent dye over them?
Maybe one day you can do a demi-video with highlights if that's a thing.
